Disney’s Silver Plan & Bronze Plan Vacation Packages (2003)…

Thanks Janet2k. I guess I will find out for sure very soon.

Buzzlady, upon your return, please let us know how the Silver Plan worked for your family. Anything that you could share would be wonderful. Enjoy your time in WDW.

I will let you know how the Silver Plan goes. Thanks.

Just a little bump for this very informative thread.

We just got back yesterday. The Silver Plan worked great. The pamphlet that you receive at check in does state that it is 1 wish per person for watercraft rentals. We rented a pontoon boat and 5 of us went out on it (cost 1 wish total). We also rented 2 Water Mouse boats. My DH and DS(11yo) went in one and myself and other DS (7yo) went in the other (total cost 2 wishes - 1 for each boat).

Another bit of information is if you use a wish to get the Pin Kit the pamphlet states (1) Lanyard (any lanyard up to $9.00) plus 3 collectible Disney Pins (any pin up to $12.50 per pin). When I went into Downtown Disney Marketplace Pin Central I asked a CM about the pin kit and he told me about the $9.00 lanyard limit and showed me to the limited edition pins (so that I could get the best value of my wish). I picked out my lanyard and 3 LE pins. When I went to check out, another CM was going to ring it up and told me that I could only get 2LE and 1 rack pin. I showed her my pamphlet that stated "any pin" and she took out her sheet on the plan and it stated 2 LE and 1 rack pin. So that is what I ended up with. My total was $39.50 w/o tax so I did get the full value of my wish.

Thanks for the report. Sounds like you had a great time!

I'm sure someone asked and I missed it...but has anyone figured out if it is cost effective? We are doing the FT package in October at AKL. My husband wants to add the silver plan. I still have to figure out the numbers to see if it is worth it...but in case someone else has it may save me time! Thanks!

Here are some of our dinner amounts and remember that each wish is equivalent to $33.50 for adult & jr and $27 for child. We had 2 adults, 1jr and 1 child:

Alfredo's - I'm not sure of the total because it was our first day and I didn't know that our receipt wouldn't have any prices or the total listed. So when your given your bill and your copy, make sure that you look at the original that you sign. It will have the total on it. What I did was write the total on my copy.

Hoop Dee Doo - (1 wish p/p) - $147.61
Fulton's (2 wishes p/p) $256.86
Mama Melrose (1 wish p/p) $115.96 (Fantasmic Pkg)
Whispering Canyon (1 wish p/p) (not sure DH must have that receipt - I went back to the room to get some stuff before heading back to parks)
Cape May Cafe Character Breakfast (1 wishp/p) $63.13
Maya Grill (1 wishp/p) $109.87
Yachtman Steakhouse (2 wishes p/p) $275.27
We also rented water mice and a plontoon boat. The water mice were about $22 for 30 mins. - cost 1 wish total and 2 people went and the plontoon was about $35 for 30 mins - cost 1 wish total and 5 people went(my mother was with us but she was on her own silver plan because she had her own room).

We ate very well each night and we still had quite a few wishes to spend. I also used my wishes for Mickey Plays when Walt's Away (1 wish)which is a base with a desk and 3 different Mickey's and a small clock figurine type thing(but it's really cute), Mickey Photo Frame Memory Box(1 wish) and the 3-D Mickey Crystal Figurine (2 wishes but I was only charged 1 wish ) I also used 1 wish for an animated scene photo package wish was only $12.95 and not cost effective but I had the wishes and didn't want to not use any of them. The last day I used my remaining wishes at DTD for pin kits(approx. $40) and for 2 Rainforest Cafe t-shirts for the kids.

So some things are cost effective and some may not be, but it is very convenient and you just have to plan what you will use your wishes for.

Buzzlady--

Did you keep a running tab of your total wishes? If you lost track was there a way to find out how many you had remaining?? Thanks!

Your receipts would have XX cpns remaining. You could also go to guest services at the hotel that you were staying and they could print you out a complete listing of where, when and how many wishes that you spent and how many you have remaining. This list and your receipts, as I stated earlier, did not have any dollar amounts - this you must keep track of yourself. I wish that the system would keep a running balance of the amount that was spent.

You might not want them to keep a running total of what you spent then the price of the Silver Plan Package might go up. Let's just keep all that to ourselves and these boards. I love planning those big meals and stuff and only spending 33.50. I know the waiters or waitress love us when we come in the door. The more we spend the more tip they get. :smooth:

I was told by CM when I booked that a child could use his or her wish when dining to order anything on the menu adult or otherwise is that the case because someone else has posted that a child could only order off the child menu.

TIA

Mal - I posted a longer answer in one of your other posts, but it states right in the pamphlet that you receive at check-in that "Children ages 3 to 9 must order from the children's menu where available."

It would not be cost effective for us to get a silver plan for myself, dh, dd(4) and ds(7) but could we get just 1 silver add on for 1 adult and then use 2 wishes per meal (for myself and dh)--I know that it would have to be at a location that only required 1 wish feature--Has anyone else done this? I think we will only eat one big meal a day and I'm still not sure that we would get our money out of this plan. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Fairy Tale Package with silver add on

it is $55.00 per child per day add on
......$68.00 per Adult

so times that by 7 it works out to $385.00 Child
$476.00 Adult

advanced ticket prices are $263.07 child
$326.97 adult

with a difference $121.93 Child
$ 149.03 Adult

or $8.70 child per wish
$10.64 adult per wish these are after you remove ticket media

King sz Room at CBR works out at $164.64 tax included

so in other words each wish is costing you the above.

Wishes have nothing to do with the price of tickets or room. You have to book the Dream Maker Package which included your accommodations, Ultimate Park Hopper and a few extras like Mini golf, and Leave a Legacy). You will be quoted your price depending on how long and what resort and any codes you might use. THEN you add on the Silver Plan which is $55 extra per child per night and $68 extra per adult per night. So if you are staying 7 nights it would be $55x7nights = $385.00 and $68x7nights =$476. Then if you want to break it down per wish it would be $385 divided by 14 wishes (2 wishes per 7 nights = 14) = $27.50 per childs wish and $34 per adult wish. Or you could just divide the $55 and $68 by 2 wishes per night and come out with the same $27.50 and $35.

Might be dumb question... Can you only use two wishes per person per day? If we have leftovers on the last day can we burn up on stuff? Or do we have to use the 8 (4 people) everyday? I just don't want any surprises.;)

You can use as many or as few each day. You don't have to wait until the last day to use on "stuff" if you mean the merchandise. As long as you plan what you will be using them for(like what meals you want to use them on), you can get the merchandise or use for boat rentals anytime during your stay. The wishes don't expire until midnight of your last day.

Wow! What alot of information! Thanks so much for posting, Janet. (I hope I got your name correct.)

Maybe someday I'll have the time to "crunch" the numbers to see how cost effective it is.
