how many people, do you think, look at this board, at least once a week?
how about daily?

I am always shocked, when I go to members Day or a meeting at community hall
and talk about the DVC Discussion board , no one except me, knows what I am talking about.

I wonder how our threads, influence potential dvc members, probably more than you think??

Considering I bought sight unseen this board was a HUGE influence to me!

Thanks to you PEOPLE I was able to have the knowledge to buy a dvc off EBay this past week

THANK YOU FOR THE INFO

oF COURSE i NOW WILL HAVE A MILLION QUESSTIONS

I try to be on daily, because I enjoy the community. This became my prime source of information before joining. And it continues to be my prime Disney site.

As has been stated, these boards were invaluable to me when I was going through the DVC decision making process. Once I bought, I thought that I'd share my experience with newcomers much as I received assistance....sort of a "pass it forward" kind of thing. :)

I'm online most all day at work so I "usually" have a window minimized with this forum on. I check it sometimes on the weekend if nothing else is going on.

I read these boards daily for two years, then made up my mind.
Because of this board. I own 625 Dvc points, but divided them into many contracts, because I was advised, easier to sell 75 point contracts and could reduce my exposure to DVC,without getting out entirele of DVC, later in life,if this is what I wanted to do

I check in here daily too, and sometimes several times, now that I have a health issue that prevents me from working.

I like to help folks understand when they have questions. I sure wish this board would have been around when I was tossing around the idea of buying! I still learned a lot when I found this board several years ago, and I was already a seasoned DVC owner.

I wonder about some of the questions at member day too, but I also know there are a lot of savvy people there who frequent these boards. I know Doc was at the last members day meeting I was at!

I am a stay-home-mom so when ever I need a break I check-out DIS and think about our next trip.:teeth:

I also check these boards almost every day, and the information from this site coupled with my tour definitely swayed me in favor of joining. So I'm very thankful for this site and all the valuable information I've gotten from it! :wave2:

I check these boards every day and some days frequently on and off during the day. Though there are some days, when my kids have off from school, that I struggle to get computer time. Those days I go into DIS Board withdrawls !

I check in at least daily, sometimes more (once at work, once at home).

I'm with dyingtodisney; I discovered the DIS right around the big FTP rollout (I'd had enough of rec.arts.disney.parks) and didn't even know DVC existed (or hadn't really thought of it). It was all of the AP Discount comments ("I bought into the DVC so I could have regular WDW trips") that sent me here; well, that and DW's unexpected comment "Maybe we should look into that [DVC]" :) So I read, and read, and read some more, and we bought sight-unseen.

Now that I've gotten to know some of the regular posters, it's fun to keep up to date with them, as well as with DVC and WDW. Plus, I can't wait to hear what Richyams has to say when the big "OKW Room-Size-Reduction Plan" is officially announced in 1Q 2004.:rotfl:

I'm a stay at hoem Mom and our computer is in the dining room. We ahve broadband so i just pop over every so often to see if any thing is new. Days when kids are at hoem I don't get to check but maybe once. I woudln't have talked hubby into buying if I didn't get hooked on thsi board after renting once.

Oops, didn't address the OP's other issue.

I think that the DIS DVC community isn't really that big. Maybe 100 hardcore "everyday-ers", another 100-200 who check in weekly, then those who come here, ask a Q, get some A's and leave. Check out the "Views" column: most of them are under 200, and that includes multiple views by the same user. When you look at the current DVC ownership (80,000), even if there were 400 "regulars", that's 1/2 of 1 percent; or 1 out of every two hundred DVC owners - hard to find a fellow DIS DVCer in a crowd :) .

We wore our Lime Green ribbons on our last trip, and saw no fellow DISers - we may be tight-knit (if not tightly wrapped) community, but we're just a drop in the WDW ocean.

I am on just about everyday...all day, at work. I just keep going back and forth when I have a free minute.

I found the boards by doing a search online and have never left. Everyone has answered my questions within 4 hours or so. It's a great way to learn.

But I think that we are a very small group. There are probably lots of lurkers!!

I eat lunch at my desk in my office on most days and take a break from things by reading these boards. The other half of HBC is a stay at home mom who checks them from time to time as well. We usually check at night too.

I agree with the many who have said it before. I don't know what I would have done with DVC if I hadn't read these boards for a long time before purchasing.

This board has it's share of daily readers, myself included. But really when you look at the whole picture of the number of DVC owners, those here on the DIS are small potatoes compared to the real world of DVC members. Thank goodness for that!

one of my wealth clients, bought into DVC, a few months ago
HE purchased 2000 DVC POINTS, retail.
HE purchased a 150 contract, a 50 point contract and 18 -100 point contracts.
HE did this because of my advice. I would have never given him this advice, without the help of so many, on this discussion board.

We have a computer in our lunch area at work, so everyday during lunch I check out the disboards. And sometimes I check again at home in the evening.

Everyone here has so much great information, I have to be sure I don't miss anything. (it's an addiction  )

I don't know what I would do without all of you.
