"Our" Mary was Scarlett Strallen who played Mary on the London stage in 2005 & 2007- maybe we saw the same one!

And wasn't it AMAZING when Bert tap danced on the ceiling and up the walls????

It was truly amazing! I actually don't enjoy musicals that much, but my friend insisted that we had to see something when we are in London. So I picked the Disney choice. And we were both blown away by it!!! And I think we might have had the same Mary, it was July 2007 in London.

Hey Ellen! I'm on that thread - HI ROSIE! - Jordan and I go back to a DCL cruise in 2005. June 2012 - not sure if we have the days narrowed down yet. I think it's time for an update!! But mine is (first) going to be about next year's new DISmom who will be joining us, my friend, Joan, aka Dismomwannabe (at least that's what she told me her name is, but let's see if this post brings her out of lurkerdom!). Although I do know she won't see this for a while, because right now she is driving to Iowa to visit her family, and according to her there are no signs of the 21st century on the ranch where her parents live. Anyway....


We had dinner reservations at DB Bistro Moderne, Daniel Boulud's easier on the budget, less fancy (although VERY swanky!) restaurant in the theatre district. They are famous for having a $32, UBER-over-the-top-burger, with foie gras and short ribs IN the burger. I was very excited to try it. Joan, on the other hand, was there for her usual chug-a-lug fest, which she DEMANDED begin immediately from the bread boy!

With every gulp, she would chant, "Over the lips and past the gums, look out stomach, here it comes!"

I like Joan, I think she will fit right in with the rest of the gals LOL

I read bread boy and thought of HMcH... you know where my mind is LOL.

Coming out of lurkdom to let you know I'm loving this TR!!! I'm so excited about friends getting together and seeing the World their way and having a blast while doing it. Your Mary Poppins adventure is just fantastic!!

Can't wait going on a very similar one of these in the fall with 3 other fantastic ladies and many other DISers in the mix and reading this has gotten me even more excited about our times together!!

I will be going down there 9/26-10/04 with ILuvCrush, and meeting up with 2xcited2sleep and Lady Lallie and we have other DIS meets planned too!!!! We are really really excited!

On to the sea of lime green!!!! We DISmoms, of course, needed to stop for slushies on our way into France- I tried the opposite one of the one I had before, and I can honestly say I haven't a clue which slushie is my favorite, they BOTH are so good and so refreshing (especially that day, as it was steamy hot). There was already a large group of greenies gathered, along with a photopass photographer snapping away random group shots. I had asked the concierge at AKV in an email the month before if they would be able to arrange for us to have our own photographer for a group picture at the MMM (so that we wouldn't have to hunt one down when we wanted to be hanging out saying hello instead). Not only did they arrange for the photographer to be there for a group pic, he was there for nearly an hour taking pictures the whole time. How cool was THAT? After the meet, the photographer gave me a master card with the # on it to give out to any MMM who wanted to add the pics to their account. He also scanned other peoples cards, but that didn't work out as well- the pics didn't show up on them. Thank-God I didn't lose that master card!!!! Which, by the way, I was paranoid of for the remainder of the trip. Photopass was very gracious, though, about adding the pics to anyone's account that wanted them after we got home. Anyway... here are some of those photopass pics!

As you can see, many people arrived on time-

Oh- maybe the camera just cropped it out! Must be trick photography...

Honestly, I was a little disappointed the photographer missed Alan's high-wire-tinkerbelle-type-entrance, but I suppose he got enough other photos, so i'll forgive him.

We, however, prefer the casually late approach, good for making our grand entrance, cocktails in hand (of course!)

People were actually saying "The DISmoms are here!" I thought it was kind of funny!

Rosie initiated us all as part of Team Focker with lanyards. She also had special treats for the littler MMMers. Isn't she the sweetest? We all loved her and her tiara!

This is Colinsdad's son...although, I can't remember what the boy's name is- sorry! Anyway, he was adorable!!

We were all having a very good time getting to know each other- OMG, there were a lot of us!!! But it was time to assemble for the group oic so everyone could get on with their day! A few of the group shots-

Now, the whole time we were having our meet, over there in the corner, pretty and scweddy-free as can be was Princess Aurora (and her perfect, scweddy-free hair). And I kept thinking...I wonder if I should ask...I wonder if they'll ask her to join us.....

Well, whaddaya think- it's the happiest place on earth, where dreams come TRUE for cryin' out loud!!! Of COURSE they asked her to join us!!!!

Have to say, when she came over to pose with us, we had a LOT of attention from passers-by, no doubt wondering how we rated Sleeping Beauty in a group shot and why we were THAT super-special!

We're DISsers!!!! We are REALLY ALL THAT and
a bag of chips!! Dissers ROCK!!!!

Princess Aurora, no doubt melting from the heat in that dress made her way back to her shady tree with a lucky little one by the hand, and we all said good-bye....

EXCEPT....some of us were STILL thirsty (it was HOT! Yea...THAT'S it! ), so we went to R&C for some more fun that I'll tell you about later!

Yay, what a great meet that was! It was so much fun getting to meet so many wonderful Disers, everybody was so friendly!

I too was debating in my head if we should ask if Aurora could join us, when they brought her over I was so excited! It was too funny see everybody stare at us and wondering why we were so important.

Great news!!! I just heard from Joan (she's actually in Nebraska, NOT Iowa, but I'm from the east coast- for us, the whole middle of the country is one big state! ). Anyway, her father has a computer out in the barn and she was able to read my version of our evening with Mary Poppins. Since she can't remember her password, she just wanted me to tell you that everything I said was absolutely true, BUT I forgot the part when she was downing the tequila and screaming, "THAT WORM IS MINE!!!!" Oops! Sorry Joan! I stand corrected!!

Joan's pretty feisty- she'll probably want to dance on the bar (you know...to be closer to the HOOCH!) so I'm sure you can have the table all to your itty bitty young self! And YES, I DO BELIEVE it HAS been mentioned before that you have the least experience of all the DISmoms.
