I LOVE this trip report!

My kids on a stick sat quietly:

I was just flipping through my DVC Vacation Planner when I saw a pic of your family. My first thought was "I know these girls, they were on sticks!"

Wannabe - welcome back from the corn fields -I hope you didn't catch any of those viruses from Cammie!

They ended up making it to the play-offs in the tournament, only 1 step away from the championship- and lost to an unBELIEVABLY obnoxious and un-sportsman-like team from Uniondale, NY, in a tied game that went into extra innings. (At 12yo the games are 6 innings). On the bright side, Uniondale LOST in the championship 9 to ZERO, much to EVERYONE's JOY!!!! Yay Mariners!!!(The team who beat them).

So after the unbearable150 ft walk to find Lonnie's mystery car (and no- she doesn't know what color it is!) we headed back to AKV to get into our room and partake of the free food and drinks put out in the evening. There were hot & cold hors de ouvres and soup, as well as beer and a quickly vanishing bottle of white wine (there was red, too). We sat in the lounge, and had at it! But what about the wine????? We were thirsty DISmoms in need of refreshment, this was SERIOUS!!!!! Well, it didn't take long to figure out what was going on. Remember the "gifted one" from the sunrise safari? Who was actually a boy and not a girl. Well, he was refilling his Mom's SUPERSIZE wineglass everytime they put out a new bottle...yes, you heard that right, HE the 12 or 13 year old GIFTED one (as he told Loni he was that morning) was refilling the wine glass while his Mom layed on the sofa. NICE. Anyway, the Gifted One was a big Pin collecting expert, and me being a novice, needed some help putting the extra-secure pins on.... so the GO screwed all my important pins on while I took over the job of refilling his Mom's wine glass and making sure the full bottle didn't end up in said glass, magically leaving some for the rest of the room. Pretty smart, huh? Maybe I'm the gifted one! Anyway, he was a very adult, very "I play drums in a band with 45 year olds every weekend in bars" kind of a kid, he was very bright and very interesting to talk to and I was grateful to him for helping me secure my pins. We went down to the gift shop and I let him pick out a pin (it was the least I could do- seriously, I was so happy to not have to worry about my pins going CLINK all over the parks anymore)!

Originally on this night we DISmoms were going to be doing the monorail bar crawl, including a stop at WL for the Gran Marnier flight.... and as we sat in the concierge lounge, we watched the sky get blacker and blacker, while the rain got heavier and heavier....so we decided to modify a bit and get a taxi over to the Contemporary where we would check out the CG and go from there. First, a little after-dinner dessert and cordial time at AKV Concierge-

Cammie had her first Zebra Dome-

I have more pics of the lounge from the next night, tonight I was lazy with the camera, I guess!

We went over to the California Grill, and were seated in the lounge at a PRIMO table right against the glass!!! We couldn't have planned this any better if we had ...actually planned this! The perfect seats were ours for viewing Wishes, how AWESOME!!! How INCREDIBLE!!! How much did it suck that Wishes was CANCELLED for the third time in park history due to bad weather!!!! Except, we didn't know that until the end- because we kept getting reports that it was just delayed..... we were hopeful and content ordering a bottle of Chenin Blanc, although we did not let OUR kids pour-

And we watched the parade on the water float by (which I was happy about because I had never seen this before)

We perused the menu, and Kara and I decided to order some sushi-

Snake in the Grass-

and a Spicy Kazan roll-

OMG, it looks sooooo good- I ate the whole Spicy Kazan, and Kara had like 2 pieces of the Snake (which was an eel) and was full. Now looking at it, I'm REALLY wondering what I was thinking not trying hers???!!!! Anyway, we patiently waited for the fireworks, thinking they would be starting any minute.

And we all decided we were VERY happy to just sit here, in these awesome seats, and wait for Wishes....

Of course, while we were waiting, the waiter suggested we order another bottle of wine...SURE! We can do that! Especially because Wishes will be starting any minute, right?

Well, after 2 plates of sushi and 2 bottles of vino, we decided to call it a night. But it WAS fun, even without the fireworks. LOVE CG!
We went outside and got a taxi back, after this-

(I'm staying at BLT this November, can't WAIT!!!) Back at the room, we were greeted by-

And we all happily fell into bed. Tomorrow...big plans! Cammie & Expedition Everest- will she or won't she???????
