Oh, forgot to say, there was a roof/skylights overhead that let the light in.

Hopefully, yours is like that.

Ok, this just struck me as extremely funny...it was posted on our DIS Road Trip site in reference to backpacking.

Bears can be a menace to humans, so back country hikers may be wise to wear little bells so the bears can be warned off, and to carry pepper spray just in case. It is also advisable to know the difference between black bear droppings and those of grizzlies. Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly fur from small animals such as squirrel or rabbit. Grizzly bear droppings, on the other hand, have bells in them and smell like pepper spray.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
oh girl, I took my phone in there for that reason. I love texts!! :rotfl:

I just got an email about Beaumont...so I'm definitely going. The good news is I can drive out Monday morning. And I HAVE to bring a laptop. I also get to wear jeans all week so that is cool!

I might even drive the extra 2 hours to see my in-laws before I head back this way Friday or Saturday. We'll see...

ETA: Oh, I'm staying at the Holiday Atrium. Which I assume to be a Holiday Inn? Anyone heard of it?

Okay, glad I didn't get you in trouble!

At least you don't have to leave Sunday. I'm out of town again next week, too. Only for a day, though. Going to work in Edinboro and staying in Jamestown. You know, there's nothing in Jamestown.:sad2:

Would you happen to be staying at this place?

We stayed at a holiday Inn Atrium (or something like that) in Bossier City, LA. It was actually pretty nice. All the rooms faced indoors and there was a cool mini-rain forest in the middle. It was really pretty -- or at least a nice change of pace from your run of the mill hotels.

sounds great!

oh cool! I hope so!! That will definitely make the trip much better!

I plan to make full use of the pool and hot tub! :goodvibes

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

at least it's just a day.

I do believe that's the one! :thumbsup2

Well, I was hoping to have company with me (my littlest...Merlin), but the hotel charges an astronomical amount for dogs. I think it's ridiculous. It's a flat rate, even. I could see charging more for a BIG dog, but c'mon!

Oh...you wanna know how much I guess.

Freaking $25 PER NIGHT! I was hoping it would be a pet deposit, and I would have paid $25 ONE time. But EVERY NIGHT? That's highway robbery! It's not like he'd need his own bed or anything. And he would stay in his crate while I was gone (he does at home anyway) so I don't see what the big deal is.

Ugh! :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:
Now I have to travel all alone :sad1:

Here's the bad news...it will probably be TWO weeks, and not ONE like I had originally thought!!!

The good news (for y'all) is that I will have no-one around and no housework in the evenings so I will have no choice but to DIS every night! :rotfl:

I will definitely be bringing my trip notes so I can write my report...

Two weeks. Wow that's seems like a long time to me. But there is the nice thought of no dishes or other housework and that is nice.

You know I thought of that. Scotty would, he tells mee that he can't sleep when I am not there.

Mike was already freaking out about me going for a week. That's why I didn't tell him earlier when I talked to him on the phone (he was at work). I figured I'd break it to him face-to-face.

I think that's probably a good idea. Over the phone especially while he is at work is a bad idea.

yeah.....I'm still not looking forward to it.

bleh

At least we both have off tomorrow.

It's gonna be a busy weekend! I have to do all the laundry from the trip and from this week. Then I have to unpack some of my stuff and re-pack for work. I just made a list so as not to forget anything.

Time to go now...talk to y'all later!

Yeah that's what I was thinking. It makes me excited just thinking I'd have the opportunity to stay at the Poly!! :thumbsup2

**************

That would explain it. Mickeypath is the one we all had before we discovered Magical Kingdoms. Everyone who had mickeypath ticker would disappear at least once a day.

Case Solved

:cool2:

:rotfl: Sharky is resident detective as far as I know. Sharky, you are now on the case of the missing ticker!! Get to work!!

Already Solved;)

oh that's right. Finally....a case to solve!!!!

(psst....I actually see it is back now. Did you do that or did Sharky solve it already? :rotfl:)

I am good:cool2:

Wow, Sharky is really good! She can solve the mystery w/o even trying!!

Good job Sharky on getting Leger's ticker back!!:rotfl2:

Thank Ya Thank Ya :flower3:

Yes, you! Your mother changed your diapers. You have to pay her back when the time comes.:lmao:

Cool, I never realized we had a butterfly!

Hey girl! Don't worry, you know we'd tell you here or there if something major was happening.

WOO HOO! Did you remember to pack EVERYTHING (including you know who?):lmao:

Oh, jeez. Toddler tantrums are no fun. But you know what's worse? Adult tantrums!:rotfl:

That sounds like fun! I'm going to have to look into it.

Oh shizzle! I forgot you had a class today! Sorry I interrupted you with the details of Dale's demise.:lmao:

Cool! Hope you enjoy the "artwork.":lmao:

I see your ticker!

:rotfl2:

Darn....was hoping ya were referring to someone else changing her diapers:rotfl2:

Just google it and it is awesome!!! Ya going to be staying in style:thumbsup2

Oh man, that is crazy. Sorry girl:hug:

bummer about 2 weeks, but yay that you can dis every night and get your trip report going:woohoo:

Oh man

I hope he is mad at your work and not at you. It is not your fault:hug:

oh, by the way, my in-laws are about 2 hours north of Beaumont...so I asked if I can stay with them next weekend so I don't have to be stuck in the hotel by my lonesome. They said I'm always welcome there, so I will probably go there rather than driving the 4 hours back home.
Of course, Mike might have something to say about that.

If he didn't work on weekends, I'd come back. But since he works 12 hour days on Saturday and Sunday, it's almost pointless. I'd have to drive home after a long workday Friday...wouldn't get home til 10, possibly later depending on what time they will have me working til. Mike would already have to be in bed around that time because he wakes up at 4 am Saturday morning. So we wouldn't have any time together Friday night. Saturday evening would be the ONLY time I'd see him --from 6 til whenever he falls asleep (which is sometimes as early as 7:30 if I don't make him stay awake). Sunday I'd have to head back out before he got home.

He'll be jealous of me seeing his parents, brother, and his best friend, I'm certain. But it just makes a lot more sense than me driving back home. What would you girls do?

I don't envy the laundry and having to tell Mike. But I will think happy thoughts for you.

oh btw, it's also possible that I'll have to put in some working hours on the weekend. I'm not sure yet though. It sounded as if I wouldn't...but that could change. The good news is I'll get paid OT, even though on a normal basis I don't because I am salaried. Storm work is different, apparently. I could actually really use the extra money right now, so I wouldn't mind some later hours next week.
