Welcome Holly! The more the merrier! I am really excited about this thread! :cheer2: :yay: Thanks again for starting it.

177.8 today.

WElcome all!

No running for me. Hips can't handle it. I walk in the summer and I WAS swimming at my gym, but got out of the habit. Hopefully, this group will gt me off of my butt.

Hi Holly! Of course you're welcome  Everyone is welcome - no matter whether they have a PTR/TR or even visit that board.

I think you're very smart to realize you need to start with small goals. I think it can be overwhelming to think too far ahead as the end seems too far to reach, you know?

We're happy you've joined us! :)

I would love to start in this group!! My name is Holly and I am 22 years old. I am severely overweight and want to change that. I know I need to start small with what I want to lose. I am the person who says "When it gets warmer I am going to start walking" lol....:goodvibes

Hi Holly! I have always read that it is healthier to lose the weight in small amounts than big loses all at once. It is better for your body and you also are more likely to keep it off that way. So it looks like you have a great and positive attitude going into this. :thumbsup2

Lessa, it was kind of ironic that you looked at the couch potato to 5K because I was looking at that also. And thought that is my goal to start that. But first I need to start with the basic exercising..Where did you buy your Biggest Loser workout DVD? I would love to look for that and start with that at home.

I ordered it from Amazon as I could not find it in any of my local stores.

My first goal is going to be 30 pounds. I don't know how long I am giving myself to achieve that goal I just want to see how I progress after about two weeks. My ultimate weight loss I want to lose about 130 pounds. With being 5'7' I wouldn't look right if I was really small..lol...

Sounds good. :thumbsup2

I am so excited to be in this group...if I am welcome..lol...I visit the TR a lot but since I'm not going til October I don't have one yet..But I do hava pre TR started on those boards..It is slowly coming together

Don't be silly, of course you are welcome here!

With me it is my chest that can't handle the running. I have yet to find a truly supportive workout bra. :headache:

This group makes me wanna get up and dance..lol..I have an adrenaline rush right now!! Me and my bf our taking me, him, my nephew, and my brother to a car show tonight so I know I will get plenty of walking done there and tomrorow me and Mom are going to the mall..I will get walking in there too..And we don't have a scale in our house...I have put that on my Target shopping list for today!!

I'm pretty sure Goddess has one that's pretty good. I usally just double with regular (non u-wire) under a "band squeezer". I wear an H cup, so I know how hard it can be. :)

:goodvibes I'm so glad this group has you pumped and motivated!

Just adding in extra activity can really make a big difference so all that walking will be great.

I have mixed feelings about scales. I think they can be a good motivator, IF you're losing. But, when that scale doesn't move even though you're working hard, it can be depressing and have the opposite effect. I remember when I lost 20 lbs two years ago it took a while for the scale to start showing the results. However, I could tell I was making progress because I could see it in the mirror. A friend of mine was losing a lot quicker, yet I was working harder. It really got to me some days, but I kept plugging along and finally was rewarded on the scale.

I agree - a few years ago I was working out quite a bit with weights and the scale didn't budge since I was gaining muscle. But, I know I looked better and my clothes fit better.
But, I also think it is a good motivation tool and can keep you on track. I plan to only weigh myself on weigh-in day though so I don't get obsessive with it.

That is what I have been doing, doubling up. Such a pain though. I always hate it when people say they wish they were bigger up top. I tell them they have no idea what a pain it is being one size on top and another size on the bottom when buying clothes etc. :headache:

Hi everyone. I figured I better come over and sign up. If I do not have to be accountable for my weight loss, I may do nothing about it. So hopefully you all will keep me in check!!

My name is Debbie and i weigh too much!:rotfl2: I am 5"8 and 190.5. I do nothing about exercise except run around with the kids.(something I plan on changing) Winter is hard to get motivated. I also do not drink enough water. I love Diet Coke and if it is in my house I will drink 3-5 cans a day:scared1: I will put up a photo if someone will tell me how.

Welcome Debbie! To put up a photo you need an account on a photosharing website like photobucket. You then choose the photo you want, upload it into photo bucket and then copy and paste the [img ] code that photobucket provides right here onto the dis. :thumbsup2

Ok here I am. This is just this past Feb when I went with my Mom for her 60th Birthday. I wanted to find a pic that looked good, but then I thought hell...If I look fat in it, I will only look better to everyone later:lmao:

Thanks for the help:hug:

Ok it looks like I will be the only male but that is ok.

My name is Scott. I live in NYC. I live with my partner and I am fat. :) What you don't believe me,
image001.jpg
that is not a baby in there.

313 lbs. I cannot believe I am posting that. I am hoping to be at least 50 lbs lighter by September 6th when i return to Disney.

Ok I am off to bed.

Thanks for starting this.

:rotfl: Welcome Debbie! I can see you're going to add some wonderful humor to this thread ;) Glad you joined in! Love that picture, btw

I will do my best. I like that pic too. The "Jack" was good, but really did not look like him. It looks like Scott got the same one.

Scott when we meet we will be thinner!! We can do this

My nephew stayed with me last night so with him being 20 months old why would i ever imagine sleeping in on a saturday morning..lol...So instead I decided to get on here and share this....I was so excited for myself yesterday my mom went through the drive thru for the kids some dinner and I wanted a double cheeseburger so so bad, but I said "NO" and felt so proud of myself for doing it!! Of course later that night we went to steak n shake for us adults and I had to eat something so I decided I could have a milkshake but I got a fruit n frozen yogurt one so hopefully that's a little better for me!!

I hope everyone has a good weekend this group is starting to fill up quickly...YAY

Yay!:cool1: Thanks for taking up the challenge and starting this thread.

Well, here we go:
3mDandMMandT.jpg

This is from our trip last August. BD (Before DS) I was pretty happy with my weight. I have kept a 10 pound weight gain since-and that's 7 years ago!

BTW-I NEVER allow my pic to be posted so I must really trust you guys:worship:

I go to the gym at least 3 days per week and have seen some s-l-o-w progress but its coming. I need to drink more water and eat a little more healthy. Hope we can all help each other out. DH and I are heading back to WDW for a Mom and Dad only trip and I'd like to be in better shape than this last pic shows!

Good Luck all:hug:

Good morning ladies, and Scott ;)

So I weighed myself this morning so I could post a starting weight and I am 205. :guilty: I hated that because I had gotten myself in the 190's this summer but gained it all back this winter. I am determined to get under 200 in the next few weeks though and stay under!!!
