This morning, when I opened up the dishwasher after it had run, the whole bottom had a puddle of water in it. I don't think its broken, it sounded fine and is only 2 years old. How can I fix it? Do you think somethings just stuck? I scooped the water out, but I'm afraide to run it again now. Any suggestions? Thanks!

but the Maytag man I ain't...;)

Good luck!!

Check the float at the bottom of the dishwasher. If something is caught up under it keeping it from "floating" the dishwasher thinks all the water is drained.

Same thing happened to me many years ago. Had a repair person come out only to discover a piece of glass was stuck under the float. I knew a glass had broken but I thought I had picked up all the pieces. Apparently not. Stupid broken glass cost me a $30 service charge. :p

my dishwasher was only about a year (frigidaire gallery) and the motor went. In fact, it went twice in 2 years....we replaced it both times....it has been fine since (knock on wood)....but that is what the problem was....water staying on the bottom....

Good luck!!

I had that problem with my dishwasher also.

It took a $2.00 part to fix it, my husband took it apart and did it himself.

Mind you it took him 6 months to think about it and it sat in the middle of the kitchen floor for a week before it was finished .....but it works now.
