Celebrated Dana's 14th birthday yesterday - yet AGAIN in the rain. I have never had a birthday party for her that it has not rained. grrrr....

We had about 30 relatives and a few friends over - did a "mexican fiesta" theme and had it catered with steak & chicken fajitas. oh... did I mention the MARGARITAS?! (for the grownups, not the kiddies..)

It just is such a bummer when you have the pool in the backyard and it isn't nice enough to use it in the MIDDLE OF AUGUST!

Dana had a great time and we all enjoyed the company - thank goodness for the electric awning on the deck and the three tents! LOL arty:

Doesn't it STINK?! It makes me very depressed to look outside at the pretty pool and NOT BEING ABLE to USE it!!

Bob cranked up the heater yesterday and a few of the kids jumped in for a quick dip - but then the rains came! The water was 88 degrees - you should have seen the STEAM coming from the pool!

Mandy: Don't wish the winter here too soon... I just hate it! lol

I would take winter over 100 degrees, high humidity and no rain anyday right now. Our leaves are already falling.

I saw HSM2 in bits and pieces, mostly the second half while I was visiting my new baby niece. My sister compared it to Dirty Dancing without the "Dirty". LOL. I still say HSM1 is the Grease remake! LOL

Thanks, WendyGrace! It's a dreary day here, so it is making it difficult to start anything! I did some cleanup from yesterday's party, and changed sheets and bedspread in Dana's room... but I have no motivation to do anything else!

I agree with your sister's description of HSM2 - except there were one or two scenes that I thought were on the "verge" of "Dirty". lol
Dana likes it better than Grease, because it annoyed her that "grownups were trying to play high school teenager parts!" LOL

Okay my fellow friends, I need some advice. I'm wanting to go to the concert listed on my signature Thursday. It's a free show and starts at 5 pm, here's the thing though I would be going alone and driving for almost 2 hours and it's suppose to be near 100 that day. I also kind of have a tiny fear of driving on the interstate cause of semis. Now the question is should I conquer my fear and go or stay at home? I'm honestly torn on what to do.

I'm not the one to ask for advice on driving far and alone! I don't like to do either! lol I'm the kind who finds any "alternate route" possible to avoid the interstates! Don't like trucks flying by at 80 MPH!

Nope, sister won't take off. She rather go when Lady A is playing a show that costs money and who knows when they will be back in Nashville.

My two friends I usually go with don't know if they can go because they have taken off work to much for other concerts. Plus I see view things differently than they do when it comes to concerts. I like to stay and talk with the artists and they don't do that. I'll hopefully have an idea by Thursday.

Puppy had her cleaning today and went well. Tumor has been removed. She's hyper but oh my oh my does her breath smell better.

I agree!! It is just absolutely too hot down here!! At least we didn't hit 100 today!! I'm glad you puppy is doing OK!!

Thanks! Freshmen start the day after Labor Day - they have the school to themselves and go through an abbreviated school day, then have a prayer service and social in the afternoon. Everyone else starts on Wednesday. We have a special Mass and picnic this Saturday evening. I can't believe she's going to HIGH SCHOOL!!

Mandy, Go! Remember to stay on the right hand side and take your time. Give yourself breaks to stretch and refresh yourself. There's nothing like doing something for yourself, by yourself. Your sense of accomplishment will make it all worthwhile! Stay safe!

That sounds good...they let them get used to the school and then have fun that afternoon!! I so wish that our schools didn't start until after Labor Day...of course we're out the Thursday before Memorial Day so that part is good.

Amanda has been in school for a week and a half now and so far she LOVES middle school!! She has her 1st dance this Friday from 3:30 to 5:30...the time just cracks me up! For this 1st dance the 6th grade is all by themselves...the 7th & 8th grades will have their dance from 6:00 to 8:00.
The theme is 80's Rock...I have to come up with her an outfit this week!!
