Sounds suspicious to me. I've never heard of any animal being cut that severely by a brush...:confused3

Jake (our dog) needed a cone when he hurt his leg once. It's so sad watching them in the cone but know that it's the best thing for them. Still thinking of you...

Yeah the note said it was when they were cutting her. I've brushed her before when she's full of hair and knotty and never done that to her. If I had batteries in my camera you can tell the difference in the fur. She hates the medicine though.

That's the only picture I can provide right now since my digital has no batteries. It happened on the right side at the back of her ear. You can tell there's less fur.

Enjoy your trip Renee! :)
Thanks, Rags! Where ya been? Haven't heard much from you lately! ;)

Renee - If you get this before you go...have a wonderful time on your trip and think of me!!!!
Thanks, DM! Atlantic City was not "successful", but still fun. They upgraded us to a jacuzzi room, so Dana & I enjoyed that, while Bob left his "donation" at the craps tables! Went to afternoon tea yesterday in Cape May, then checked into the hotel. Met dinner with friends that are also down for a few days, and then took a nice walk around town. Today we spent a glorious day on the beach - very breezy but beautiful.. Catching up on emails and then out to dinner... I LOVE it down here! :cool2:

. I'm just shook up and have been shaking for over a good hour.
Mandy, I hope your dog will be ok... how scary!

No, the doctor didn't tell us about earplugs for the shower...that is a good idea though!! She is feeling a little better today but she woke me up crying last night becuase she was in so much pain...I went to her room and stayed up with her for about 2 1/2 hours. The doctor told me to cup my hands and blow hot air into her ear and then put cotton in it. So I did that a few times in the middle of the night when I was up with her.

Mandy - I'm so sorry about your doggie! I hope everything turns out to be OK with her.

It is a VERY painful condition, according to our pediatrician. Did you try using the hair dryer on low? Supposedly that helps - or a very warm washcloth compress. Hope she's feeling better soon.,

thanks to everyone who wished us a good trip.. my multi quoting didn't totally work! lol

Ha! This year Brooke put a popcorn kernel up one nostril. I had to take her to the peds first and they could barely see it. Then they were going to try to get it out with some small forceps. While the ped was gone, Brooke was lying on the table and handed me the kernel. What?! She said it just came out. When the ped came back, I showed it to her and she tore up our visit sheet so we wouldn't have to pay. Thank goodness!

Ryan stuck a crayon up his nose about 2 and Kevin took him to the ER and they had to use needle nose pliers to get it out and then the nurse turns to Kevin and Says''We give kids a coloring book and crayons'' Kevin ''he can have the coloring book but not the crayons'' then it dawn on the nurse, crayon.. nose....

I just need my dis friends right now. It's been a really bad day for me. We took my dog to the groomer's this morning for her hair to be cut. We go to pick her up to find out she needs stitches cause she jerked when they were cleaning her and they cut her. We rushed her to the vet where they had to put her to sleep to fix her ear. They then tell us they found a tumor under her tongue so she goes back on the 13th to have her teeth cleaned and the tumor removed and sent away for testing. I'm just shook up and have been shaking for over a good hour.

Mandy- so sorry to hear about your dog. Hope that it is beign(sp/) and all goes well.

I will be so glad when I know they are safely on the ground in Chicago!

Kari- hope their trip is a safe and fun one.

Kari - I think I missed a post! Did the kids get to Chicago? How did everything go? Did Avery do well on the plane??

No, I didn't use the hair dryer but I bought her one of the moist heat things that you heat in the microwave and it stays warm for an hour. I don't heat it as long as it says to for her...I thought this would be safer than a heating pad. She says it works. And she is feeling much, much better today!!

Now we have another ear ailment...we took Alyssa to the After Hours Clinic tonight because she started screaming with her ear this evening. When I called Paul to tell him he said that she said that it was hurting this morning but it didn't seem to be bothering her. The doctor said that she has a middle ear infection! I'm glad we went ahead and took her tonight...the last ear infection that she had ruptured her ear drum and that was an ER visit on Christmas night last year. Hopefully we caught this one early enough so it won't rupture. It amazes me...Amanda always ran a pretty high fever with ear infections and Alyssa hardly runs one at all so hers are harder for us to detect than Amanda's were.

While Alyssa and I were at the doctor's office Paul and Amanda went to Target and bought me a prize. He found an Epson photo printer with 15 Dinsey borders for $49.99 & this is our tax-free weekend for school supplies so that made it even better. I get my pictures printed at Sam's usually but this will be nice for quick prints. I can't wait to play with the Disney borders!

Oh Mandy! Poor baby! I hope everything will be ok for your poor little puppy.

Just back from dropping Mr. Mocha at "the Inn" and waiting for Bob to leave the office, then we are "on our way"...:beach:

Last time we went, Bob won enough at the craps table in Atlantic City to pay for the Cape May portion of the trip! :cool1: Here's hoping that happens again!!! :woohoo:

Bringing the new laptop, so, as long as there really IS "free wireless internet" as promised, I can keep up to date! Don't think I'll be able to post pictures until we come home, though.. I'm still "figuring out" all the bells & whistles!

Ciao! :dance3:
Renée

Enjoy Enjoy!

I was going to post some pics tonight but we had to take Amanda to the After Hours Clinic and she has swimmer's ear. The drops that her doc called in yesterday are not working so we had to get another prescription. We just got home and I'm exhausted so not much Dising for me tonight!!

Oh no! Poor Amanda! I hope she's feeling better by now!

WendyGrace... when is Michael's surgery? I was thinking it was soon... :confused3

Alright! I think I am caught up now. I have been doing :laundy: all day, and trying to get the kids packed for their trip. They have to be at the airport at 5 AM! :scared1: I will be so glad when I know they are safely on the ground in Chicago!

We're not sure about Michael's surgery. We are awaiting a call from the plastic surgeon who's talking to the general surgeon to make sure everyone is willing and ready to go so we can schedule. We should hear back next week.

Let me know if there are any problems in Chicago and you need a diser to go help out! I'm not far away!

Its been a crazy week over here. My sister was in a car accident on Wednesday with my nephew. My BIL had accidentally taken my nephew's carseat with him when he left my house and my sister almost walked out the door without a carseat for him (because she only lives two minutes away  ). I had a spare booster sitting on my poor that I was waiting for a friend to pick-up and I told her to go ahead and use that one and we'd just switch it later tonight. Thank goodness I did. The car was totalled! My nephew is fine. My sister, who's 9 months pregnant, is bruised and has a sprain but doing ok. They went ahead and scheduled a C-section for her for Wednesday though so I will probably not be around much this coming week.

wendygrace- glad to hear that your sister and nephew are doing fine after the accident. Hope all goes well with the c-section.

Wendygrace - thank goodness your sister and nephew are OK...let us know when the baby gets here.

Wendygrace... totally forgot you are in the Chicago area. Did you happen to go to the Aurora Days parade on Friday? Avery and Tucker were riding on a firetruck in that, and Avery was dressed as a dalmation. She had her pic on the front page of 2 newspapers on Sat! One was Kane County Chronicle, and the other was the Daily Herald. This is the pic from the Kane County paper.

So far they have had a great time. They come in tonight at 11 PM. Wynn and I have stayed very busy... most of the time. Friday night we planned to go out, but Wynn was asleep at 5:30, and I fell out around 8! Guess we were more tired than we thought. :rolleyes1 Sat we layed around all day, then went to dinner and a movie. We saw the Harry Potter, and I thought it stunk. No story line like the others had... it seemed like a "filler" movie. Yeterday I went shopping at the second hand store for clothing to sell on ebay. I find plus size name brand jeans for $3, and they usually sell for around $10. I also got lots of overalls and denim dresses to make "boutique" outfits with. I sell those from about Sept through Nov, and they go for $15-25 each. Now I have to get busy sewing!

Kari - Avery looks adorable...that's great for her to have been in 2 papers!!

I've tossed around the idea of selling stuff on eBay...have you had good luck with it? What all types of stuff do you sell?

My best seller is plus sized jeans. I scour second hand stores and yard sales for good condition jeans size 16 and up. Old Navy, Venezia, Lane Bryant are best, but any name brand will sell. I pay around $3-4 per pair, and start them at $5-$7, depending on brand and quality. I charge around $6 for shipping. I did have the priority package stamps, so I could just attach the stamp and stick the package in my mailbox. I have to check on the price of those to know exactly what shipping will be, then add 50 cents to cover materials. Girls boutique clothing sells well, but only at certain times of the year. I take overalls or denim dresses and add embellishments, ruffles, etc. The Christmas and winter designs sell very well. Children's Christmas from size 2-6 sells extremely well during Oct and early Nov. Anything under 2T I have a hard time getting rid of, though. Hope that helps!

Wow, I would have never thought of plus size jeans selling there! I have some that I could get rid of. Since I sew and monogram I have had a lot of people tell me that I need to sell some of that stuff on ebay. Maybe this fall would be a good time to give it a try. I also have some old (early 90's) Hallmark ornaments that I don't put on our tree anymore that I could get rid of...OK I just need to get my rear in gear and start selling on ebay!!

I am working on a cute pair of overalls. I will try to finish it in the next couple of days, and get the pic posted for you to see.

Courtney... thanks! I was really ecited to hear she was in 2 papers! I couldn't view the pic online for 1 of them, though. :guilty: You should think about doing some boutique style kids clothes on ebay if you have time, since you sew. Of course, I don't know how busy you stay with your doggie clothes... :confused3

Oh geez! I am just down the block from there! I wish I would have known. Not that I would have scared your children or anything. Too funny! They are both just adorable!

OK DIS friends... I am feeling so frustrated! My kids were supposed to be landing at 11 PM. As of now (11:29) they are on the airplane, but still on the ground in Chicago. I feel like I need to be doing something, but obviously I can't. At this rate it will be after 1AM before they are even in Raleigh, and realistically 3AM before I can get them in the bed. AND THEY HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW!!! Just had to vent a minute.

Guess the rant helped... they are finally in flight! Wish I got this type of result every time I complained! :rotfl2:
