How cute...I love doggie pictures :)

Yes, it will grow back... but it took 4 1/2 years to get it to this point! :rotfl2:

OK...scissors all put away...:thumbsup2 Actually Faith has played with scissors on occasion, normally just the non cutting ones you find at the dollar store. It will grow back like everybody stated...the waiting is the hardest part.

Dont you think after having almost 13 yrs of dogsitting in my home, I am a pretty good judge of how things will work out with new dogs?

I work with a petsitting company, plus I have my own customers on the side. The petsitting business brings me a new dog today.. I mean a dog Ive never taken care of. She is some sort of lab mix.She is VERY shy and nervous. Ok, that is really not a good mix at my house. As I have 3 loud and active kids, young dogs who like to run and play. I told Denise(pet business owner)that I dont know how this will work out. I can tell how nervous she is. If she is nervous and shy with me, then it will be worse when the kids come down and start playing. I took her outside with the other dogs, she basically froze up, didnt really fight , but it was tense. The business owner tells me, oh it will be ok..she just needs to get use to it. I run back outside(shes still in the driveway). I tell her she cant stay, I am worried she will be freaked by the other dogs, and she hasnt meet the kids yet. She keeps telling me, no she will need to get use to it..AHHHH NO...get this dog out of my house...She said she would be back later to pick her up as she had other runs to do. So I called again about 10 minutes later making sure she will be back , she said 3ish.
Faith came down(She is almost 3)and wanted to pet the new doggie.. The dog freaked, acted all skittish and hid under my desk..UGH...why doesn;t she trust my judgement. So darn frustrating...She is underneath my desk and hasnt moved. I gave the kids strict orders "DO NOT TOUCH THAT DOG"... She is really a sweet dog, just not cut out to be in this environment, lots of dogs, and active kids.
After 13 yrs, I think I can judge a dog UGH....

Ok..enough ranting.

You're lucky the dog hid instead of snapping at Faith. Hopefully the dog will get picked up before anything happens to it... or one of the kids.

Yes, she cut it big time. You should see the handful of hair in my trashcan! DM, Jackie... run immediately and hide your scissors! Mine were in my sewing table with stuff piled on top of the compartment that she had to move to get the scissors. She plays with scissors all the time, and has never even mentioned cutting her hair. Heck... she cried when I evened it up a few months ago because I cut too much off!

Yikes! I would call that woman up immediately to have that dog removed! Poor thing has issues, but you can't deal with that and other dogs and children in the house! Sounds like she should be in a nice, quiet setting.

Good luck!

Out of curiosity how many are going back to Disneyworld next year and if so when we are not next year but going in January of 09 and next are taking a Alaskan Cruise instead

Poor dog and Poor you. I hope all is ok by now.

:scared1: Poor kid. And poor mom. I think its a right of passage for most kids though. I know I would have lost my mind if my dd had done that.

Going in June next year again to WDW.

If it wasnt for the heat we would go back in June of next year but the was too much we are from Seattle you see and dont have that much heat so we are taking a Alaskan cruise and then going back in January

Yippee, she is gone now..The pet business owner took her back to her house. One less thing for me to worry about:thumbsup2

Good thing. That was a tragedy just WAITING to happen...:sad2:

Mandy - your pup is adorable!

As for WDW next year, we aren't certain what we are doing... we are weighing a "few ideas".... We have one day park hopper left for each of us and two days left on two old tickets, and numerous water park admissions... we also received $75 each on JetBlue because of our massive delay, but must be used within the year... we are "thinking" about a long weekend, once we get Dana's school calendar... or returning again in June for a week.

Other "options" we are toying with for next year include:
1. Atlantis in the Bahamas..
2. Disneyland for two nights followed by the Disney Magic 7 night Mexican Riveria cruise
3. Ocean City, Maryland for beach and to see the wild horses..
4. Italy! - This one may happen in 2 years, not this year, but we aren't sure! WELL-TRAVELED friends of ours are trying to convince ME (not Dana & Bob - they would go in a heartbeat!) that Europe is wonderful - they are talking about renting a villa with a pool in Italy and show us the country. It would be big enough for our family of 3 and their family of 5. No "bus tours", we would rent a van and drive ourselves. They have been numerous times, so they know what to see.
(Dana, actually, has her HEART set on London and Paris, but maybe I'd think about it someday if this trip to Italy turned out well. I'm such a wuss about being FAR AWAY. - in all fairness to me... lol... I have a bad stomach and need to be careful, so being out of my comfort zone is hard sometimes.)

So.. don't know yet exactly what we will be doing next vacation!
(next Wed we leave for the shore... that's as far as I'm thinking right now!
:beach: )

Kari - That is a lot of hair Avery chopped off. But it does look like it will be cute cut straight across like that. At least she did not go shorter!

Mandy - Cute puppy. Glad our puppy days are done. I do not plan on getting another dog once Jake is no longer with us.

Kaylie - No Disney for us next year. We are thinking about Cape Canaveral beach vacation next year. Plus we would like to save up a bit so we can stay at either Yacht Club or Contemporary the next time we go.

thanks guys, she's actually full grown and about 12 years old. We first got her she could fit in our palms.

We don't have many options for a vacation at this point. I get out early May and I will not go cause of love bugs. I have December but there's no time really that would work then. So we're stuck with either June, July, or August. We went last year in July and swore then we won't go back in July.

Renee... go with option #2! And take me with you, please! I'll be the perfect adopted daughter, I swear!

I don't know for sure what we will do... but I am planning for the cruise in the meantime. I am putting aside money for the deposit, and will send that off in a month or so. :ssst: KOTS... from Wynn, that is! :rolleyes1 Seriously, the only thing I do know is it will be October when we go on vacation. The kids will be in school during June, and off in July... no way I'm going in July!

Kari :goodvibes as long as you bunk with Dana, you can come! lol (and leave all scissors behind....)

I'm a little skeptical about the price I was quoted.... with airfare it comes to $8942, but that doesn't include the add on of Disneyland. If we are flying from NJ to California to get the cruise, we would most certainly spend a few days at Disneyland. But, I think that price is awfuly steep...:confused3 It has a shipboard credit of $250, but that's not going to cover drinks, excursions, and tips. So, I will have to do some research to see if I can come up with something a little more reasonble. :surfweb: Seems like a lot of money for only three of us....
