I feel bad for wanting Florida to continue with the draught through the rest of this month or hurry up and get raining now so it may be better for us!

I want it to rain real good there to get the fires out, but then go back to dry for our trip. Last year, we got rained on 5 of our 7 days... 3 of those were torrential downpours that lasted 1 hour+, and 2 were normal Florida storms. The regular storms don't bother me... its the tropical type storms with all the lightening that bother me. Last year, we kept hearing "You should have been here last week... didn't rain at all!" So this year we scheduled a week earlier! :rotfl: Keeping my fingers crossed!

My sister is doing better.

Hey rain or not I'm going to keep on going. I went one year where it rained heavy downpours every year. I've been there when Andrew hit.

Castaway & MaggieD - we found Amanda a clarinet at a pawn shop and bought it the other day...it looks like it has hardly ever been played and it was a great price...it is a Buffet E11...from all I have read it is a really good one for her to learn on and keep for years...now I just hope she enjoys playing it!!

That's great.... happy tunes!!!

Okay, let's all get praying now! I don't mind those quickie afternoon showers either. On our honeymoon everytime we went in for lunch, when we came out it was all wet and steamy. But we were glad we missed the rain. Our honeymoon was in the 2nd week in July.

We had the terrible rains at the end of October in 1997. Also, one whole day of rain in November 2003 the day we went to the AK. What a waste of time that was. So going to the AK this time will almost be like going for the first time as we didn't get to experience much back then.

Wow, thanks everyone. That was quick

I had always thought night EMH were either 1,2 or 3 hours, guess I was wrong

I just talked to my uncle yesterday who lives in Florida (even though he lives in the Tampa area) and he said they are expected to get rain this week. He said they need it really bad cuz everything is all dried up and his lawn looks like hay. I told him it can rain for the next two weeks but better stop once we get down there.

I dont mind the typical Florida afternoon storm it is actually sometimes refreshing and fun, I guess it is because we dry up so quickly. I just dont want it to rain constantly that is no fun. Although in 2005 when we went, Hurricane Dennis was having its way with Florida and although it wasn't a threat to Disney, the weather was all overcast and cloudy with the occasional shower. So what did we do, we went to Typhoon Lagoon and had a blast! It was one of the best Disney days ever. There were literally like 20 people in the park because everyone was afraid of the Hurricane. We got on every slide with no wait multiple times, it was sooo much fun!

So my advice, if there is a hurricane in the vicinity of Disney, go to a waterpark!! :goodvibes

2 weeks from today I will be running around insane trying to finish packing, clean and load the car, clean the house... But 2 weeks from tomorrow... we will be on our way!!! :woohoo: :dance3: :cool1:

YEP...sounds just like its going to be over here. Since we are leaving on the same day, we have the same routine going on?
What time do you think you will be leaving?

We plan on heading out around 6ish...we will see. I want to make it as far as possible(Coming from Va Beach)before stopping over night. Ft Lauderdale is just too long of a drive for one day:confused3

Good to know! But I gotta say, sometimes I love the rain in WDW - it keeps the crowds away!

I was thinking the same thing. We have always had good luck with the weather in Disney. Sure it has rained, but never enough to ruin anything. I can remember only one day, that it rained(Hard)on and off all day. It was the pits being wet(Even with the ponchos)because shoes/socks get wet.BUT... it really does keep the crowds away.I remember about 8 yrs ago being pregnant with my 2nd, and there was a terrible storm one night. There was lightening and thunder and all kinds of advisories on the tv.

Where my parents live in the Ft Lauderdale area, I swear it rains there everyday. Not an all day rain, but its sunny, I mean bright sun. Not more then 5 minutes later the sky is black and cloudy.
