SO cute!!!!! She looks so pretty! How our catholic school was was that it ended in 8th grade, so that was a really big year. Then we transfered to high school which was a "melting pot" for all of the catholic elementary schools.

Is that how it is there?

Tell her she looks so pretty--- her hair looks awesome, and I love her dress too!

Yes - same thing here. We have a few co-ed Catholic high schools and a few all girls schools and all boys schools. Dana attended all the open houses and chose the co-ed school and was accepted. woohoo ... (that's where we wanted her to go - but we let her have a say in the decision - she's just not the "all girls" school type. You know how girls can sometimes be, but she is VERY oblivious to cattiness... and I was afraid she'd either stay oblivious - which WOULD be good - or end up being the BRUNT of the cattiness! For some girls - "all girls" is the greatest thing - we just didn't see it for our girl!)

Thanks for the compliments... had her hair done - I'm no good with the blow dryer, etc... she has poker straight hair and of COURSE would rather curls... isn't that ALWAYS the way?! lol More dresses to come in the next weeks! stay tuned... LOL:rotfl:

 I haven't actually seen that one! I go on there sometimes and check the pics... just to make sure Wynn is behaving himself! :rotfl: Most of the pics are ones people in the crowd send them from the shows, and so some are really bad. The base guitarist does the website, and he is a 40 yr old, single pervert... so he posts them all! As far as how they sound... like all bar bands, the drunker you are, the better they sound!

I was wondering about the photos, Kari... because the link said something about nudity... and I stopped there, because DD was in the room! lol

I'll have to get a new picture taken. I am always the picture taker!!! Until then, my Focker picture will have to do!

DawnMaree... I really like the photo of you and Rob much better... this one scares me... ;)

I look scary?? :scared1: That'll keep all those rotten kids away from me. :lmao:

Here's another one...and it's doesn't get much "hotter" than this! Unless, of course, I'm sweating.

Liverpool pubic school

I personally do not plan to send my kids to PUBIC schools, DM. But to each her own!!:rotfl2:

Won't swear to it, but the extent of the nudity is some drunk girls pulling up their tops. And of course... the thong!

Aww.. what a sweet thing to say! Dana wants to meet you, too!
Here's my 'grown up girl' the night of the "gala"... 8th grade is really big in the Catholic Schools in this area... we have so many "occasions" to attend, and OF COURSE we needed a new dress for each one! :lmao:

Wow, your daughter is beautiful :)

How about "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from The Little Mermaid. That will be us when you come stalking us! :lmao:

But if she can sing good then it will be "Lucky Fortunate Souls"... If we were the ones stalking her, it would be "Poor Unfortunate Souls" for her and her family!

I went to an all girls catholic high school and LOVED it! The guys were right down the street and we had dances, football games, etc. that we saw them at. We even had a small few classes offered over there. No makeup, no shaved legs, no cleaned hair, etc. It was wonderful.... And college wasn't a big shock b/c it's not like we never saw guys. It was a really fun school and allowed for some good girl time. And some time to focus on class instead of on impressing the boys.

She's beautiul SingingMom. I love the dress.

Thanks, Mandy! ;)

So happy you had such a nice time at your concert! Isn't it a thrill to meet people you enjoy watching perform? We had a special opportunity to go backstage to meet Sutton Foster recently when we saw "The Drowsy Chaperone" on Broadway. Dana was BESIDE HERSELF with excitement! Just stood in her dressing room with a huge smile on her face... I had to do all the talking! :goodvibes

I was the same way Friday night, I knew if I didn't go now and see them that I would probably never get the chance too. Myspace opened up a chance of meeting so many artists for me. I just found out today they are signed with Borman Entertainment (Faith Hill, Keith Urban) so before we know if they will be releasing a cd.

I really CAN sing, honest! :goodvibes
If you don't watch out, DM, I'll come up behind you and start with "Zippity Do Da" .... That one is almost as hard to get out of your head as "It's A Small World"! And I know ALL THE WORDS. :lmao:

I can provide the melody. That is my mom's ringer. It drives everyone at her work nuts!

I think "all girls" is great for some - and not so great for others. It totally depends on the personality, and the school itself, among other things. Dana's been in a very small Catholic school right now.. we went to the open house at the all girls academy and were impressed at first, but then it started to get to me... as the presentation went on, I turned to Bob and whispered, 'Geesh.. there's nothing wrong with boys!" lol
They just came on a little too strong... I was half expecting the nun to get up on the table and start singing "I Am Woman, Hear Me Roar!" :lmao:

We think Dana's personality fits better with a coed environment. And the priest that is the president of the school we picked - we've known him for years - he actually baptized Dana and we worked with him in Pre-Cana for years. So, we are comfortable with our decision.

But, you are so right about the benefit of thinking of school work and not about impressing the guys! And there are many opporutinities for mixing. It's a great thing to have all these choices opened up to families. :goodvibes

I agree completely with your and her decision... I definatley had friends who when to co-ed schools and they loved it there too! I think that a family needs to weigh all of their options and pick the one that's best for them. I think she'll have a great time... And there's definately nothing wrong with boys!!!! I agree with you on that one for sure!

She does look very pretty SingingMom, right down to the nail polish! I'm glad I have some more years to save for all of those dresses I'll have to buy Brooke.

when they get into the 7th grade, I will definitely do that. I would love to send my kids to Christian Brothers Academy which has a college placement record of 100% in almost every year! Anyone who follows Duke basketball knows that Greg Paulus went to CBA!!!!

You just have to watch for "deals"! I got that dress on clearance at Lord & Taylor.... originally $75...... I got it for $17 :cool1: Her "dinner dance" dress is a little pricey because I ordered it from the catalog "Wooden Soldier", but her graduation dress I got at Bloomingdales and it was marked down also.

If you can swing it, Catholic HS is a smart move, because the colleges really do look at that. I have known a number of students who have been able to receive college scholarships because they did well at the Catholic high schools. I only have one, so it isn't as cost prohibitive for us. I feel for all of you families with multiple children. The prices are just crazy crazy crazy. :sad2:

WOW so much to catch up on...my internet has been down all day...gotta love Charter!!

Mandy - it sounds like you had sooo much fun!! You got some really good pics too!!

Singingmom - your daughter looks so pretty in that picture. 8th grade sounds like so much fun for her!!

We finally had our special dessert today...the DQ at the turn to our house is closing & moving after today. They have been in this location for 41 years so instead of driving thru, which is what we usually do, we actually went in and had our treats today. It was kind of sad...they are moving to a brand new location in our new shopping center that is about 5 miles away. I had an oreo mint blizzard, DH had a waffle bowl turtle sundae, oldest DD had a KitKat blizzard & youngest had a strawberry shake AND some of everybody's elses :rotfl:

I had a good time, LizAgna.

Also on a sadder note will you guys pray for a local family. I went to high school with their son who was serving overseas to be killed. He was a year or two above me.
