Just checking in to say Hi!!!!

Not to brag, but I'm going on vacation two weeks from tomorrow!!!! Just a mini- vacation... We are going to Pensacola, FL- to the beach with my family... I'm so excited, and the part that beats my Disney vacation is that I'm not paying!!!!

We have another coming up in three weeks...
One night in Atlantic City (for Bob) and four nights in Cape May (for ME!) and Dana had Disney. Everybody's happy. (and Mocha gets to go to the Inn, AGAIN.....)

No way would I let my dog keep me away from a family trip, girlfriend. Find someone to keep him.

I hear ya, Laura. That was one of my requirements when we got Mocha... He would be introduced to the boarder at a young age so he wasn't traumatized. Now, he thinks it's just going to visit his "friends". (probably gets more attention when he's there than when he's home, anyway. lol)

I'm hoping my parents offer to watch Jake but I'm not going to ask them because they really do a lot for us and I hate to take advantage of them. I like to save favors for something that I REALLY want, ya know? Now, if they offer....

Oh, DawnMaree, ask them. No sense missing out on time with your family.
I'm sure since your parents are right next door it isn't THAT big of a deal?

OOPS! I am partly confused myself! I was looking at the kids calendar for next year... 2007-2008. DUH!! Just call me dork! The 7 day western cruise is from Sat, Oct 4 through Sat, Oct 11. The 3 land/4 sea cruise is Thurs, Oct 2 in the parks, then Sun, Oct 5 through Thurs, Oct 9 on the ship. But I have crossed the land/sea cruise off my list (for now!)

I REALLY want to do the Disney cruise, but it is about $1200 more, so I will have to wait and see what works out. It's hard to justify the money right now for Disney over the other cruise lines.

I am lucky that I don't have to pull the kids out of school, since they will be on the year-round calendar. Their fall break is Sept 27- Oct 19. Our county doesn't observe Columbus Day as a holiday... but my kids will be out, anyway!

I wish my kids were on year round school. Traveling would be so much easier and cheaper

That sounds fun! We are leaving on 7/22 to go to Orange Beach, AL for a week...have you ever been there? We always see a lot of LSU people when we are down there. We will be staying in a friend's condo for FREE so all we have to pay for is food!! We wouldn't be going this soon after Disney if we had to pay for lodging too!!

I can't ask them. It was a big "to-do" when I asked them to watch Jake for 1 night when we left for Disney. They are wonderful parents with the kids and such but when my dad knows he doesn't want to do something, he is extremely stubborn. And yes, they live next door and it would be no big deal for them, you would think. But my dad keeps saying that he does not want the responsibility. I have to pick and choose my arguments with him carefully as I do ask for favors quite a bit here and there and don't want to screw myself in the end. Ya know?

Kelly is going to reschedule and do a theater tour in the fall sometime. So I'll still probably be going to that but I got most of my money back from that and it's going to buy a new camera.

I checked out when next year's Columbus Day is and it is the following week (Oct 13). I am still not totally sure if the kids will have the 14th off then. I'm just comparing to the past 2 years and this upcoming year. They have always had the day after Columbus Day off for superintendant's conference day. So, that always seems like a good week to take off. I priced out the Disney cruise for us and it is over $6000 and that's not including airfare. No way. I'd rather spend the money going to Disney itself.

I think this should still be our chatty thread. Because I have my own TR I'm not posting too much on the adventurers one. But Kari is and I hope Rags posts some of his trip pics too. I would love to see some of the cruise ones. Maggie did a good job posting there too.

Plus, you could still step up and post some more Renee...come on. You know you want to....

I know what you mean. But if you casually mention that the reason you are staying home and Rob is going with the kids is because of the DOG, would they possibly offer?

It's hard - my parents are very busy with my sister's family, due to my niece being brain damaged and bedridden, so I tend to be very selective of asking for any help. But, it gets frustrating sometimes - because I ask so rarely, and I still get "Well, we'll see what is going on...." Parents! can't live without them, but they make you crazy sometimes!

I've done that already. I'll probably do it a couple of more times nonchalantly. I've got another week and a half still to work my manipulative ways....

Didn't you take a camera of your own? That is a lot to spend on a photo package. The photos would have to be totally awesome for me to spend that much.

I've got a slight problem my friends want me to go and do glamour shots with them. They are 19 bucks for sitting fee and an 8x10. I'm not big into makeup and that and I just feel like I can put those $19 elsewhere. I just don't know what to do.
