We have been to Disney in the summer as well. 2 years ago we went in June,. When I was pregnant with my first,(almost 13 yrs ago) we went in early July. I dont really remember it being too bad. But.. we had no kids then, so maybe I have good memories and not remembering any little whiney voices telling me it was too hot;)

I ususally wear a hat with a pony tail to combat the possibility of wet hair. On me, it is so not pretty.:scared1:

We can be twins, Laura!! My hair is too long and thick to battle with Florida heat and humidty! I always have a pony tail and a hat on! :hippie: ]

We have been in early May, lateMay/early June, late June, late March, Early October and late November. Every trip except Nov. was HOT. Yes, even October we had high 80's/low 90's. So you have to just know it is gonna be HOT as HE** and be prepared for it.

I'm really wishing/hoping our April trip will have cooler weather. I've looked at wunderground and it's really a toss up that time of the year. BYW this is a great site. It give you the averages for the past 10 years anywhere in the world. You just type in your travel dates:

Hey Stalkers,

Well one week from today we are leaving... :cheer2:

:sad2: Unfortunatley I think I came down with something, I will not go into detail but lets just say it isn't pretty! I hope it just runs its course and I feel better soon. I am just so bummed because I should be super excited for vacation and instead I'm sick, things like this make me want to cry and I have no one to complain to since DBF is at work and I cant get a hold of him at the moment. :sad1: I hope you guys don't mind if I complain to you?

I think I will watch some happy Disney movies, although I don't know if they will make more sad or what...aw well, nothing I can really do I guess.

I hope you all have great weekend thanks for listening to me whine. :)

The only part I hate about a hat is that I have to either take it off or hold it down on the roller coasters. I ususally take it off and stick it down in the net thing that they have if they have one or alse just hold onto it tight. Of course that makes for a lovely picture on RnR me with hat hair! Yuk!:scared1:

AS we all know, Disney is full of magic and good memories:)

Anybody ever had a bad experience there??

About 5 yrs ago, we got in a car accident down there. No it wasnt our fault. We were leaving the MK, around 1ish. We were heading back to the hotel for a swim... We had just past the area where you have to pay to park, heading out. Some other car, crosses over two lanes, and hits us right smack in the middle of the side of the car.:sad2: It was the right side, passenger door(sliding door in the van).. My husband tried to avoid her, and we pulled over to the grassy area right by the area where you pay to park.... The whole side window broke. I was fuming... lucking nobody was hurt. My daughter, at the time was close to 3 yrs old was sitting in that seat. The lady who hit us pulled over. Apparently she was on the cell phone with her sister who was in another car behind her, the sister told the lady "get into the left lane".. the cell phone lady got into the left lane and just kept coming over and hit us...
Their insurance company took care of it. It was a rental car this lady was driving. So the DIsney people came over, vacuumed out all the glass, and taped up the window for us. Then we had to go back to the hotel room and call our insurance and their insurance. What a pain in the butt... We couldnt open the side door, so everybody was climing out through the front doors. We had to drive all the way to Va Beach like that. They eventually totalled the van, said repairs would be more then its worth...

UGH..never want to experience that again.

How awful! I hate that that happened on your vacation. That would really stink. Glad no one was hurt!

Feel better. Last year DS & I came down with a stomach bug a few days before the trip- I did cry.

You should have saw my DD's face when she realized 1/2 her tank top had fallen off after TT. We still laugh about it.

That's awful. We had a unfortunate mishap of losing my DS at YC with no help from any of the CM's trying to find him but DH wasn't thinking straight at the time & sent him to get ice.

Makeup? ALWAYS lipstick, most of the time eyeliner and mascara. That's it for vacation, unless we are going out fancy to dinner!!

along with the HAT, I worry about the GLASSES! I wear Rx sunglasses or my regular glasses that tint in the sun... I'm always holding onto SOMETHING!

I just figure, Disney - Florida in the summer - beach vacations -I'm just NOT the FASHION PLATE I usually am in everyday life.... (yeah, right.... :rotfl: :rotfl: )

Hey! Go whine on your own thread! Just kidding. I hope you feel better and it's good to know that at least you have something now rather than on your trip!

Yes, back in 2003 with Alec and the 50s Prime Time, but then if you read my PTR you would know what happened...:rolleyes1 :lmao:

No way would I wear a hat but I have been known to use a huge clip in the back of my head to hold my hair up. It used to be nice when I had really long hair and I would just clip it off my face and pull it up off my shoulders. This new shorter style is harder but I think it's long enough now to pull up with the big clip in back. It won't be that pretty either but, let's face it, like Joyce said, we will all be walking around sweating & smelly! :rotfl2: Probably the only one who will be picture perfect will be little Miss Courtney! Can I spell jealous? Why yes I can!

Yep.... that Courtney..shes a real cutie:cutie: ....bet she will have every hair in place and smelling just right;)
Courtney...you know we are all joking:rotfl2:

So much to reply to... but here goes!

Normally I only wear t-shirts down there. I know its going to be hot, but I do not wear sleeveless shirts. Its that my arms are fat(Well the rest of me is too)and cant bare to show it. Its bad enough I wear shorts with the size of my legs.

I have to go buy a few pairs of shorts to take... just didn't quite make my goal weight. I wear short sleeves and sleeveless, and just don't worry about my arms. I see girls my size and bigger in belly shirts and braless... :scared1: As long as someone around looks worse than me... I'm alright! BUT... I am sweating that metting with Courtney!

I know this may sound weird, but I refuse to wear sleeveless anymore because I need the sleeve to absorb the sweat. Otherwise I smell myself and it grosses me out.:scared:

I am wearing more sleeveless because I sweat so much. First to get the air under there! Second because I ruined several of my best shirts last year with pit stains. This year, I am packing a bottle of Shout! I'll spray the clothes and let them dry overnight, then throw them in the laundry pile.

It's silly but I'll still blowdry my hair & put on some makeup in the am

I will either put it in a clip, or a ponytail. I love my hair long, but I do not wear it down. I started getting gray hair when I was 16. I have so much in my part that I look awful with it down. And I don't color because it fries my hair, and I would have to cut it.

So I have to have diaper and wipes, and suntan lotion, and drinks, and snacks, and a camera, and ponchos....hmmm what else am I forgetting... oh yes, cell phone...We take the stroller, so its not too big of a hassle, everything gets thrown in the big basket...oh yes.. an extra change of clothes for the little one.. as you just never know...

I also have a first aid kit in my bag... antibiotic bandaids, Benedryl cream, gauze pads, Advil (adult and kid).

I guess I will be more self-conscious about my weight when I meet some of you. But, I gotta get over it.

No worries here, sista! We can meet for the frozen courage in France before we meet everyone else!

I've got a problem with bottoms - I don't have anywhere near enough.

:rotfl2: I've got plenty you can have! :rotfl2:

By the way, Brittany... I'm not allowed to play with you anymore! I bought Crocs Athens last week (hate them!) and today I ordered Privo Joyners and Molokini flips on www.zappos.com... $129! BUT... they ship free overnight, so I will have them on Monday... 5 days to break them in! :sad2:

:sad2: Unfortunatley I think I came down with something,

Be glad you have gotten it over with now! And stay away from DBF and anyone else going until several days from when you feel better! And Lysol EVERYTHING!!! My biggest fear is getting sick while we are there.:scared:

Oh, that's awful! I'm always paranoid about having an accident on vacation, and with DH's driving... :scared:

I have no desire to take time out of my magical escape from reality to deal with insurance companies and other such nonsense!

Yay for new shoes! I'm sorry you don't like your Athens - I love mine! BTW, I just ordered 2 pairs of Crocs Capris from shoebuy.com. :rolleyes1
