DM - maybe we will see you at the field days or the parade :rockband:.... if you find us early enough I should still be standing....:drinking1
What day again? I am definitely NOT a beer drinker but the kids love the rides. I guess it depends on Rob feels as he is going to be very busy this weekend.

The vouchers are free extras that come in the Packages from WDW. You get them if you order directly from WDTC or if you booked from a independent travel company. The Price for a round of golf is$10 for adults and $8 for kids 3-9. Typical playing time is one hour. They have two miniature courses. Fantasia Gardens near the Swan, Dolphin and Boardwalk resorts and the other is Disney's Winter Summerland , designed around santa and his elves. Hope that helps.

Home from an exhausting but fun day at the ranch! Dana's class trip was today and the weather was GLORIOUS! Pretty funny that we turn around and return on Friday for the weekend! Only bummer is that they had to get rid of the hot tub next to the indoor pool and aren't replacing it as of now. :sad1: That was one of my favorite things to do after horseback riding! Guess that means more time for the margaritas, though....

I have to pack tomorrrow for the weekend... and so many school/graduation activities.... I don't have time to get excited for Disney. That's a bad thing and a good thing. Bad, because I WANT to be excited... Good, because it will make the "waiting time" go more quickly!

Glad the class trip went well. Can you post the link again so I don't have to go back to search for it? I wanted to check it out but was really busy yesterday. Thanks!

I was just wondering if any of you have heard of an "entertainment fee"? I am asking this because a discussion started on this other thread about kids that are 10 eating at Disney. This lady has a daughter that is 10, but doesn't think she should have to pay for her to eat as an adult. So she is going to lie and say she is 9. I asked her how she was going to do this since you have to pay for a 10 year old's park tickets as adult tickets. The system will know your child is 10. She said since she bought her park tickets separate from her resort room that she can lie and they won't know. Then this other lady said that you can pay a $5 entertainment fee at character meals and not eat.

I have never heard of this. I even asked Disney Dining if I still have to use 2 of my table service credits at LTT because the twins will not eat anything there. I told the CM that they won't even get a drink. I was told that they would still take their credits off since it was a character meal. It sure would be nice to only pay a $5 entertainment fee for each for them and keep my credits.

I have heard of the entertainment fee for people not eating at the character meals. I don't know if they still do that as we have never tried. It would seem to me that it would be very hard to keep track of someone who is not eating. Maybe too many people used that fee but still ate off of the plates - like snacking. :confused3 I'll have to go check out that thread...

My feeling would be that if your twins won't eat there, go somewhere they will. There are so many other character meals!

I've read about an entertainment fee but it's probably up to the server to decide whether or not to enforce it.

Yes... I thought about not eating here (LTT), but everyone else likes it. As far as character meals we are doing: Crystal Palace, Play & Dine, Donald's Breakfastasaurus, Liberty Tree Tavern and Chef Mickey. We are actually eating at Crystal Place 3 times - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Since we don't go to Epcot, my table service credits are only for MK and MGM and the one at Chef Mickey's.

Does everyone like it for the food or for the characters? I'm not crazy about the dinner there but love the lunch!

If you have to go there, you might have to "suck it up" and use the credits for the twins. However, sometimes if you ask the server they are able to find something else in the kitchen that they may eat. Maybe chicken fingers? Also, if you didn't use the credits for them there, when would you use them anyway?

Yep, that's what I thought. I wouldn't use them anywhere else anyway. I didn't realize the dinner was different from the lunch. I will have to look the menus up. Using their credits is not that big of a deal. I had already planned on their's getting used even if they didn't eat. This is the first year they are on the DDP and my oldest is 10, so this year I have had to think more about ADR and where to eat. If they can't "find" anything in the kitchen, I had planned on going to Columbia Harbor House and getting a chicken strip meal and bringing that in to LTT and just paying OOP for it. Last year I brought in french fries from the McDonald's stand for the twins, and they had no problem with me bringing them in.

I ran into this problem last year. They are suppose to charge you the full price even if you don't eat. That is according to the Dining.

That's what I thought too, that they are suppose to charge you even if you don't eat since it is a character meal. That is what Dining told me too when I asked. Then I read about this entertainment fee of $5 and not eating.

www.rhranch.com
It's called "Rocking Horse Ranch", located in Highland, NY (Exit 18 off the NY State Thruway Rt 87 - right outside of New Paltz)
I have to pack - we leave tomorrow at around noon... would have gone sooner, but Dana has "Perfect Attendance" so far, and wants a medal at graduation, so we'll pull her half day. LOL She's a trip, let me tell you.

The weather sounds like it is going to be HOT HOT HOT this weekend!

I just checked it out quickly and it sounds like fun! That may be on a list of vacation places next year. It probably is about a 4 hour drive from our home.

Question of the Day:

Do you plan on writing a trip report and/or a dining report after your Disney vacation?

Yes, I plan on doing both!!!!
