Calli - children's theater would be fun! Too bad I don't have enough talent to do that - but I have always wanted to be a teacher - 1st - 3rd grade. Maybe one day I will go back to school.

Unfortunately with only 1 winner and 3 trip prizes, I don't forsee someone building inner alliances this time around.

Valid point! (Sad, but true.)

Still, that doesn't stop future finalists from pulling liberally from the "Season 1" marketing-strategy playbook of Kenny the Pirate & Co. (I'm referring, of course, to the spiffy web banner ads that only a handful of contestants used last year and that Careerbuilder and Disney now have implemented for this contest, etc.)

This contest doesn't provide for the deep friendships that I was able to build either. The shared experience of 24 dreamers all laughing and smiling was amazing.

Now, that's actually the greater loss. I'm sure there was so much synergy on-site! Plus, I'm thinking that all of this year's finalists definitely would prefer to have more than one winner. ('Better odds that way!;)) That said: I'm certain they'll still willingly accept the job offer that's currently on the table... ;)

Whew! It's getting late. (I think I'm starting to ramble. I'm not even sure I'm making any sense...) :rolleyes1

Can't believe I missed post 1000 cause I was watching AI - then my DVR cut off the last few minutes so I don't know who the last woman picked is now! :(
Huh? He gets stuck under the ocean, but he does meet the blue fairy -- who is actually an alien life form that allows him to return to see his "mother" for a day.

AI does stand for Artificial Intelligence right?

Thanks for clearing that up KtP. I, too, had Haley Joel Osmet with his Super- Teddy Ruxpin in mind. I always wanted one of those dolls... as a kid.

All of this has me actually laughing so hard I am crying....the AI thing was just TOO much.

As for my dream job....I would love to train at Disney. I am actually paid to do training now (and I am darn good at it) so I guess I am "kind of" living my dream. I even utilize lessons learned during my trips in some of my trainings in areas such as outrageous hospitality and detail orientation. But my real dream would be to be immersed in the Disney culture and learn and teach beside some of the best. Unfortunatley, I don't even know how to start. Most of the jobs that I see as entry are internships...I suppose since I am currently pursuing a masters degree, that makes me a student and eligible.

Anyway, I am still interested in hearing other people's dream jobs....

oh...and I have been wondering, do we know when they will notify the Ten and if they will be able to tell us?

Anne

They told me that they would notify the top 10 very soon. I'm not sure about being able to tell or not. I wouldn't think that would be a problem. It just gives a little more advertising to Careerbuilder.com and Disney Destinations (See, I, too, can try to promote them. I just have to do it a thousand more times to catch up with Fleagle :) )

They are providing all Top 10 finalists with a prototype Kenny4000 promotional automaton. So... even if they can't say anything... you'll know when they have been contacted because the RoboKennys will be unleased on an unsuspecting public.

It was the last day of our trip to Disneyland last May. We went through the Grand Californian entrance into DCA and were dreamed with Lanyards. I went nuts! I have never won anything like that before and was just thrilled. I will absolutely never forget that moment!

We did two more trips last year - and were not dreamed at all :(

And finally - if I could figure out how to quote from 2 different posts, I would not have back to back posts so much :)

If someone didn't point it out already, just click on the " button on the bottom right of each post you want to quote....it's next to the QUOTE button...then hit "post reply" button on the bottom left and you'll see all the quotes in one post.

No "dreaming" on this last trip.

On our previous trip, the older kids and I got dream fastpasses as we exited Peter Pan. The kids were so pumped! My wife wanted to not use mine at all so that she could put it in the scrapbook with the tabs still on it. I vetoed that idea!

We also got dreamed at Typhoon Lagoon, coming off of Crush N Gusher. The funny thing was... the park was pretty empty that day. So... as we came off, we were given dream mouse ears (three of us there while the little ones napped).

We went to ride the other Crush N Gusher slides... then when we came back down, we got mouse ears again! Which was fine... because now we had them for the whole family.

After that... we were given mouse ears AGAIN after riding the slides two more times. We tried to decline... but it was clear that the dream squad couldn't get out of there until they passed out all of those ears. They practically insisted we take them... AGAIN. The 4th time, it was just funny... so we laughed and took them. So... I saved the extra 6 ears... and we played dream squad later in the day for another family of 6 that we ran into.

No, you have to take these Mickey ears!!! You cannot leave the park until you do! :rotfl2:

So nice of you to dream them to another family!

My parents got Dream FPs from Test Track when we went in Sept but alas, DH and I did not get anything -- although we were one boat away on Pirates from getting the Cinderella Castle stay...man, I was soooooo bummed. The thing was the family that won was not even excited about it -- no smiles, no yelling, no jumping up and down -- maybe they were in shock but I so wanted to say -- "C'mon, you (potentially) just won a stay in the castle -- don't act like someone died!"

It is amazing you got dreamed so many times in one trip! I would love to get dreamed again on our next trip. It was a wonderful experience.

Thanks so much for pointing that button out to me! Now I think I got it. :lmao:

Whew! What a day! I have been completely swamped at work and still have a production session that I have to engineer for Intimacy... I'm exhausted.

They told me yesterday that the Top 10 would be notified within the next week and a half or so. That would give the Top 10 a few days to get their marketing plan and materials together and implemented before the deluge of votes begins on March 2nd.

I better run. I gotta jump into a production room. I hope the talent gets here on time. I'll be back later... oh wait, Lost is on tonight... I'll see everyone tomorrow.

Happy Anniversary to all of us!!! :grouphug:

One week ago today was the "on or about" date for the Dream CMO.

We now know that it was actually the "about" and most of us were licking our wounds this time a week ago....a few were celebrating.....

One week later and we are supporting those who are going on for their dream and I, for one, know I have found a site with like-minded Disney people that I am glad I am a part of!
