Dis'er Spotting!

I have met a good number of DISers in passing at the parks. One of the first ones I met in the All Star Movies Food Court. She and I continued to make contact on the boards and have become good friends. We have since met up when she was on a family vacation near me and she joined us for our Girls Only trip.

I will say something to people that I see with a LGMH--I am pretty outgoing. I usually have several LGMH's obvious on me, but there have been a few days when I was tired and cranky that I just take them off because I am not in the mood to be social!

me too

I've spotted Diser's over several trips but I'm always to inhibited to say hi

who's going to be there from 9/25 - 9/30....maybe I'll live on the edge and say hi if I see you there:laughing:

Say hi if you see me. I will break you of your shyness. And besides... you practically know me. :)

I have. Back in October 2006 (I think) we had just finished breakfast at CRT and were waiting for the ropedrop at the back of the castle when I met a DIS'er family. I don't remember if it was a LGMH that caught my eye or their matching tie dyed t-shirts. We chatted a bit and then we headed to Dumbo - DH & DD's traditional first ride (although that might be a thing of the past since DD will be 12 in August, but I digress...) and the other DIS'er family was behind DH & DD in line. I think I even have a picture of the father because I took a picture of DH & DD in line and he was in the shot. I sound like a stalker!

I'll bet rope drop is a good place to spot a Dis'er!

Oh heck - I forgot one came up to me at MCO while I was in line for ME. Recognized my picture. (Hi Shannon! :flower3: )

Hi Cat!:yay: I'm usually shy....but I had a Bailey's coffee and a xanax (for fear of flying) and was feeling brave:lmao:

I feel like this should be it's own thread for each month

DIS'in IN SEPT? SHOW US YOUR FACE SO WE CAN CREEP ON YOU WHILE SITTING BEHIND YOU ON THE CAROUSEL OF PROGRESS!

No! That's my napping spot!

Paintnolish,
Thanks for the PM re: this thread and our pic! I've been without a computer since I've been back. I'm using my mom's now (you met her, too).
I really enjoyed meeting you, and then running into you again later on during the week! Maybe we'll meet up again in the future.

Re: other citings, I spoke to a man who was pushing a stroller and carrying a backpack that had a LGMH on it. I asked if he was a Dis'er. He said not me, but my wife loves it. Then, he pointed way ahead in the crowd towards her. Didn't get a chance to speak to her, but thought it was kind of funny that like it or not, if there's a Dis'er in the family, everybody gets noticed. ;)

I've run into others on previous trips. DD likes to help me hunt for folks. DH hides in the shadows.:)

I've seen plenty of DISers in the parks. Most recently I was right behind GlendaMax in the FastPass line for Toy Story Mania during the Star Wars Weekends. I'm probably in her video, since she was filming at the time, but of course I didn't say a word, because I'm too shy (and too un-prolific; I don't post much and not many people would know who I was  ) to approach anyone.

When was that? It might have been ME! :cool1: My DH was stopped a few times on our last few trips... carrying our Mickey Backpack with lime green Mickey head tags. Once, I was just in front of him a bit and he tried to point me out to the person.

Yes - I saw one back in 2005, and went up to her and turned out she was on a September POP thread a few of us had going.

She's a very close friend of mine now, and we'll be doing our 3rd Grand Gathering with her family, and mine - this September. She's wicked cool (wicked being cuz she's from Boston ;) )

And then I spotted another one in line after MNSSHP 2 years ago - but I was hot, and didn't feel like saying anything to her, because....

I also spotted one, all Lime Green'd, wearing - not only Mickey heads - but a FOCKER watch lanyard! I thought for sure she'd be up to chit chatting. Nope. She almost played dumb like she had no idea what I was talking about (maybe she didn't, but where in the hell did she get a Focker Watch lanyard?? :lmao: )

And then I had another one leave me a note on my dry erase board at POP, and I am still buddies with her too.... (Hi Ashley! :yay: )

Very cool thread!

Ok, I've been around awhile but am I the only one who doesn't know what a *Focker Watch Lanyard* is? (I do know what a lanyard is though! :))

What does that stand for? Clueless chick here. LOL:wizard:

Lime Green Mickey Head

The Disney paintchips at Home Depot are shaped like a Mickey Head and DIS'ers will use the lime green ones (not sure why lime green) to indicate that they are a DIS'er so other DIS'ers at the parks can say "Hi!".
