DISer chapter of NKOTB anonymous, part deux... we don't want an intervention!!!

Sounds like a great time! I had a busy weekend and stayed away from twitter. Figured it was easier that way.

At the risk of being labeled a "hater" I'm really not sure how I feel about them touring with BSB. I obviously adore NKOTB but when BSB were at the height of their fame I was working 40 hours a week, had my 1st house and was engaged. I will want to see the guys no matter who they are with but the thought of sitting thru a BSB set really does not get me excited in the least. I keep thinking IF they do tour together (which I know is nothing but a rumor!) my first thought is how much would those tickets be!

I realize I shouldn't be complaining (which I don't think I am, more stating my opinion) and just take any NKOTB I can get! I just don't really understand the link between the two, other then both are boy bands. BSB was what, 10/12 years after NKOTB? My cousin is 20 and was a big BSB fan. I don't see how the fans of each band have much in common. If it does happen hopefully BSB will be the opener so it'll be easier to skip.

Oh well, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a solo Jordan tour. Now that gets me excited!

Hi Mickey! The NYC/NJ crowds are tops. I was in orchestra and kept turning around to look at the people in mezz, waving their hands around. It was amazing. And yes, Joe looked amazing. They all do. Definitely got hotter with age. No more poofy hair!

I think the whole link between NKOTB and BSB was that NKOTB pretty much paved the way for them. If the boy band thing was never popular and NKOTB hadn't come first, I think BSB would have had a much more difficult time getting any sort of recognition. That being said, NKOTB was about 100x bigger than BSB ever was so =P

That I get. I was meaning more of the fans and the age gap between them. The BSB fans I know are alot younger then me and they aren't NKOTB fans. At least with Jesse McCartney you had the mom/daughter thing going on.

I feel exactly the same way about the BSB issue. I never was a fan. I don't mind their songs that played on the radio, but I never really "got into them." I wouldn't recognize any of them if they came skipping down my street I'm not looking forward to a tour with both of them either. I'll take what I can get, like you said, but would rather they not tour with them. It would be more competition for tix! I really don't see a lot of overlapping of fans between the two groups. Just my thoughts.

So glad you ladies had such a wonderful time in NY!

I hope they don't tour together. I would prefer just NKOTB.

But I do see the link and that was why I did like them. AJ reminded me of Donnie so much. He was the rebel with the tattoos and was always the jokester etc.

Brian and Kevin were cousins and Kevin was the quiet one who reminded me of John.

Nick was was Joe because he could hit those high notes and he was the youngest and then Brian was Jordan.

Howie was the Danny.

Now this is just MY thoughts of how they reminded me of NKOTB. I was really upset when the broke up. I had always hoped they would get back together. I remember when I saw Joe on Boston Public and Jordan on The Surreal Life. Then VH1 had that show where they tried getting groups back together and New Kids was one of them but it didn't work at the time.

But I will say...good things come to those who wait and it was WELL worth it.

$$$$ if you ask me. Honestly, I think they saw the extreme success of NKOTB reunion and think/wonder if they can do it too. Aren't they even missing one member? Seems like I read or heard that somewhere.

Yes, they are. They're used to be 5 of them and now there's only 4. They are already doing the reunion thing. They weren't gone long enough for anyone to care about them getting back together (minus one) and they were never what NKOTB was. NKOTB was everywhere, ridiculously famous, to the extreme. Plus they didn't have other boy bands to compete with!

Hey everyone! I found a free minute! We are in Orlando and we close on our new house this week hopefully. I'm keeping it kind of quiet on facebook because I have not told my old job yet. I won't tell them until I am totally settled down here. See, I am VERY cautious and I like having my old job as a back up just in case. Worst case scenario we can rent out our house down here and come back if necessary!

My DH did a GREAT job of finding a house! We had put offers on two houses and found out we didn't get the one we liked. I was on a school field trip so I did a quick MLS check on my phone and sent him one to check out. By the time he got there with our realtor at 11 am there were already two other offers on the house. Ours was not the highest, but we were paying cash so they accepted our offer. It is a house someone flipped so it is all new inside. The cabinets are so new that the guy was there finishing the installation the day DH was looking at it. He took video of the inside and outside of the house and put them on youtube. I don't want to post the links here, but if anyone would like to see it PM me and I'll send it to you. After all, it will be our pre-cruise 2011 meeting spot!

Saturday night's show was great! I liked the addition of Cover Girl and Coming Home....and who can resist Donnie crying...really? I think even my husband was attracted to him in that moment! Everything is packed up, but as soon as we find the cord to download photos I will post some.

BSB and NKOTB....well I will say it was really neat to see. I'm not and never have been a BSB fan. When we went to the shows at Foxwoods the apple store guy we met said he hung out with NKOTB Friday night at Shrine and they mentioned touring with BSB. I was not too happy. But...like others said I will see the show just for NKOTB. Karen...I agree with you about the age gap. It doesn't seem...to me anyway....that NKOTB and BSB have the same fan base. So now we will be fighting with the BSB fans for tickets. Someone on twitter posted that Donnie said something along the lines of if you want to see NKOTB you should start liking BSB or something like that in response to the negativity about them touring together. So it sounds like they will.

Just checking in. It has been a long while.

I am not sure how I feel abou the NKOTB/BSB thing. Even tho I am sure it was amazing to see them all on stage together.

My life is full of ups and downs right now. Hubs and I have seperated (well he was already in Reno for work) and filled for Divorce, But the divorce was denied. So we are still marrried and we both want to try to see if we can work it out (thinking this was a sign of some sort- that things were moving too fast). So Now I am just waiting for him to get back from Reno, at the end of the month his time will be done there with work.

I know that everything will work out the way it is supposed to - So just trying to think positive thoughts and I have the boys so I am doing just fine- God is good, I am blessed.

I used to love him but after meeting him and his attitude at the Foxwoods after party and how he handled the NYC after party...I don't think he's totally genuine with what he says about his "soldiers" and fans and blah blah blah. So for him to say we all better start liking BSB as a response to any negativity..dude get over yourself. He's just been getting on my nerves lately!

Jenny, how could you!?!??!! JUST KIDDING!! I totally agree. Being completely honest I think Donnie talks a good game but deep down inside he isn't the guy he tries to portray. (that was obvious when we met him and he was completely miserable!!) Don't get me wrong, I think he LOVES the fans and the attention he gets BUT I also think he loves saying 'jump' and seeing who will say 'how high'?

I don't care that he says we should all like BSB if we are NKOTB Fans. I never cared for them and never will. NOT interested.

All that being said....I still think Donnie can be smokin' hot and I certainly wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers.

When you met him at 5* or somewhere else? Why do you think he was miserable? (if you already talked about in the thread after it happened, sorry! I can't remember!)

It must be an NKOTB thing for me because while I think Mark is nice to look at he doesn't do much for me! Weird considering how much they look alike.
