Good morning ladies! I had to sleep in a little, which is actually a little hard for me to do. I kept getting all your tweets while I was in the party. I wanted to respond individually, but I would have never put down my blackberry. Ok, so here we go!
We left a few minutes after 9 to get into the city. There was some traffic, but we got in by 9:30 and found a parking garage near the Hard Rock. There was already a decent sized line by the door. Since we had VIP, it said on the website we would get to skip the line. We walked to security by the door and he told us to get at the end of the line. They would separate VIP out inside. That irked me a little because we were promised to skip the line...kind of the whole point of VIP. We couldn't do much about it so we headed to the back. The party was supposed to start at 10, but at 10:30 we were still standing around outside. They kept letting in 5 people at a time, so it took FOREVER.
We finally got inside and picked up our VIP laminates. VIP also received a gift bag with a CD sampler of Jimmy Marsh's music off his upcoming album, a couple random coupons to a spa in Boston, some fancy body lotion, and a Breakfast Club t-shirt. For anyone that might not know, Breakfast Club is a clothing line Donnie either owns or is affiliated with. That was my favorite item in the bag, however, it is a men's large, while I am a women's small or medium, so it's more like a dress than a shirt, but I don't care.
As we picked everything up, they had a red carpet set up with one of those backdrops you see at special events, and we had pictures taken. That was one area I felt sort of celebrity-ish. And then we walked in to the room. A stage was set up off to the back, a single bar was along the front wall. The VIP section was off to the side. It was a little annoying because if you needed a drink or pretty much anything, you had to leave VIP. It didn't really put you any closer or further. It was just like they took a side of the room abd put a rope up.
So we wandered around a little, and it was very low key. Donnie and Jimmy were on the stage where Meet & Greet was being done. This was the hilarious part for me. My friend and I were at the bar grabbing a drink, and I was looking around, and I didn't see this, but it's how it went down. Jordan Knight with a single security guard casually walks in through the entrance...walks right past me...and heads to the back wall (green room was inside). And my friend turns to me and goes, "Oh look, there goes Jordan." I was like, "What? Where?" She pointed and all I saw was the back of his jacket. I don't think anyone realized he was there until he had already walked past him. It was kind of strange, though. He walked in, walked to the green room, and NEVER left. I mean, he stayed backstage and didn't watch any of the performance or anything. I almost didn't understand why he came then, but oh well.
So soon after we had our drinks it was time for the Meet & Greet. It was very similar to ILAA. Our laminates had stickers with different letters written on them. We were group E. So we left VIP again to go to the other side of the room where we could get onstage. I think the groups were smaller...at least, if they weren't, I didn't feel like their were 10 people. We walked up and Donnie was great. He was giving out hugs and everything. Since we were last in line in our group, we patiently waited to see him, but he made sure once he was done hugging one person he was grabbing the next person and hugging them. I reached out to hug him and he pulled me in, asked how I was doing. I said I was doing great, asked how he was. He said fine. At this point it was picture time. We were still in Donnie vicinity, so he put one arm around some girl I didn't know and the other around my friend. I was just going to stand next to my friend, but Donnie goes, "No, get in front of me." I felt very awkward because I had to stoop a little, but it did mean I got to kind of rest my head against Donnie.

There were literaly like 8 professional cameras trained on us snapping like crazy. Now I now what it feels like to have 100 paparazzi around you! Sheesh. It was a little crazy. So then we were trying to get to say hi to Jimmy, but there were several women around him, so we kind of stayed around Donnie. We didn't have to get rid of our cameras and were allowed to use them. I brought my brand new one, thought I knew how to use it, and realized I was clueless, so I had to rely on my friend for pics alright. She's worse than a paparazzi, though, so it didn't matter. So all of a sudden she goes, Kim, get here, we're gonna take a picture. So next thing I know, Donnie's arm is coming around my neck, and the three of us are taking a picture. It is new my current facebook picture for all of you that are friends with me. It's the only pic I have of the night so far. I'm waiting for my friend to upload all of them, then I'll put them all on a website and share the link. So at this point, picture over, I go to try to make a way to Jimmy, just because I felt it was polite to do. But I turned to Donnie and said, "Well, I'll see you in Miami." He goes, "Wait, you're going?!" In the manner of a little kid finding out something really exciting. And he grabs me in for another hug and we do the cheek to cheek mutual kiss thing.

Then security was telling us time to go. Never got over to Jimmy. Felt bad, but I was honestly there more for Donnie than him.
So soon after that, Donnie and Jimmy went backstage to get ready. A dance troupe called R2D2 came out to perform. They were great. I'm dancing obsessed, though, so I might have enjoyed it more than some. One of the men in the group I've seen on So You Think You Can Dance auditions. I believe he may have been on America's Best Dance Crew at one time, but I know for sure I saw him on SYTYCD. After that, they cleared the stage and played a short video in the same vein of the NKOTB concert prelude, ya know the, 15 years ago...blah blah blah. I don't remember quite all of it, but it was just about Donnie's body of work and how it's only going to get bigger. Then Jimmy comes out and starts one of his songs. Something with "Major Paper" in it.

This is when things got a little interesting. There was a girl kind of in front of me who was either really rude or really drunk, but I was like half support her weight on my elbow. I think she was trying to get fully in front of me, but I wasn't having it. Then she literally almost threw an elbow in my face, but fortunately I was paying attention. So her and her friend decided to try to get towards the green room, which was in the VIP section, so they moved. They ended up behind us. So annoying drunk girl starts to squeeze between my friend and I and goes something like, "I need to get in front of you." And my friend just goes, "Yeah, sorry but no."

Not that we were trying to be rude, but sorry, you moved because you thought you were going to get something out of it, you can't just stand in front of us now because you decided you didn't like your new spot. At this point ANOTHER girl steamrolls her way in front of my friend, then turns around to my friend, glares at her, and yells at her. Ummmm, excuse you, but we were already here.

A little annoying , but those were the only incidents. After Jimmy finished that song, he sang a second, and for the third song, Donnie came out to perform with them. They collaborated on a song called, "I Don't Give a F*%&." Wish that word didn't have to be in every sentence of the song, but it's actually a really cool song. It's kind of just talking about how, I'm not going to care, and I'm going to live my life and have fun. It's mellow. I liked it.
So they left the stage after and never came back out. They started clearing people out a little after 1 I'd say. So it was really more of an 11-1 party than a 10-2, but it was still pretty fun. I know I saw several Celtics players wandering around, but I couldn't tell ya who. When we walked out, we saw Donnie getting into his limo. There were a bunch of girls around, but it didn't look like he was getting out anytime soon, and we'd already had our time.
So that was my evening!
