Disembarkation? How Does It Work?

I just read a thread about people wondering if their was a counter for their airline at the port and they had to bring their luggage there after finding it at the terminal. I thought when you bought the disney transfers, and they said you had to have your luggage in the hallway the night before, that Disney gets your luggage to the airport separately. You mean after spending all that money, you have to drag your stuff yourself. PLEASE LET ME KNOW EXACTLY how this works.

You do have to collect your own luggage after disembarking. It will be in the designated area as per your stateroom. Pretty easy to find, especially with the help of a porter.

One of the reasons I believe you need to be with your luggage is because you'll have to clear customs. If they decide to go through your stuff you'll have to be there I imagine. Has never happened to us.

We never actually even touched our own luggage after disembarking. We just flagged us a porter and found our luggage. He handled it all from there. The porter will take your luggage wherever it has to go at the DCL terminal. Be it to the airliines at the DCL terminal, to the DCL transportation, or even accross the street to your towncar transportation. Of course you should tip the porters since they really help expediting all that stuff.

Everyone has to have their luggage in the hallway the night before leaving the ship. All of the luggage is on the ground floor of the terminal building. All of the staterooms are assigned a color. You go to that area to look for you luggage. You find your bags, go through customs and then you're set to go.

If you are flying home and your airline has a check in at the port, you take your bags there and they will take them for you. If you are taking DCL transfers to WDW you take your luggage to a bus and it will arrive at your resort when you do (get on the same bus!) If you have a car parked, you go to your car, if you are meeting a limo service or shuttle van, you have to go out to the far parking lot to meet up with those services (you have to have your luggage with you)
