Imagine my disappointment when I signed up for DisDates.com and found I was the only "prince" looking for another "prince." :sad2:

I can't be the only one out there! Or am I doing something wrong on that website??? :confused3

I thought it was new? Like two weeks ago new? There's only 39 princes in total, and I think they've done most of their advertising on the dis singles forum. Now that you've posted here maybe it'll drum up some more members.

Just hang in there someday you're Prince will come :rolleyes1

Never even heard of it.

But yeah, I am waiting for that Prince to visit here as well.

Cool idea for a site, but honestly, despite that I think it would be great, I don't think in the end people will be very successful on the whole (sure there will be sucesses).

I met my boyfriend on Gay.com, but the successes there are greater (albeit, not phenominal) because its a central type site, millions of users, types, etc. The further you filter yourself, the less opportunity there is.

Now if DisDates existed when I met my boyfriend, I'd probably never have met him because I wasn't a huge Disney fan (still not as much of one as him).

You know what....
I certainly would not be what you would call "The DIS cockeyed optimist"
But love can bloom most anywhere and at any time.
If this is where people decide to try for it - Why be the "turd in the punch"?
Why?:sad2:
Good luck to them is what I say! :thumbsup2

Absolutely!

Scott and I met through the now defunct gayday.com discussion boards which was an even smaller a group of potential "Princes" than the DIS as a whole. When it's meant to be, it's meant to be. Why criticize the ways people choose to search? :confused3

I don't think at any point I said it was a bad idea or not try, rather, I'm just putting a sense of realism that people should always keep their eyes open and not pigeon hole themselves. And if I was being overly critical, it was more on the overall ability of a fairly specific website to generate overall success, it's Marketing 101.

it's Marketing 101.

Did I mention I've been in Marketing for 15+ years now.

You know jlewisinsyr I don't know you from Adam
and you might be a nice guy for all I know - you might not be-
but why do a lot of the things you say have a condescending tone to them?

Hmmm, I didn't read it as such. I read it as more of a push to also explore other sites or places. :confused3

Why don't you guys just do what I did, start dating your ex's current girlfriend (well I guess boyfreind)? LOL

Take them as you wish. I think often (and you see it in the transportation board as well) on this site, everyone expects everything to be happy all the time, and for everyone to agree with everyone else. Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way and maybe in a way I tend to be grounded in reality more so.

I like facts and don't get emotional towards events, situations, that's who I am in person and in a way it translates here. Maybe its cold, but it has worked well for me in my personal and business life. I also am one to look at all available options and opinions and offer different point of views, which also means I tend not to jump to conclusions which falls back into the facts part. That doesn't mean I intentionally look to take an opposing view just to stir attention.

It makes ONE feel better about them self.:confused3

I can only hope this was not directed at me and was a more general statement.

Well thanks for that life lesson. :worship:

Sarcasm at its best?

Well maybe not "best" but pretty darn good

Thanks.

Let's all prance around in our Fantasyland, while dressed up as Hello Kitty and dream about how our magical Disney prince's will "someday" whisk us away into the sunset...:rolleyes1

My boyfriend calls our Volvo, our "Noble Steed" and as his "Prince" I pick him up in it all the time, so I guess I'm whisking him off his feet on a "Steed."

That never worked for me! I used the "Throw a half a gallon of Jack Daniels down their throat, club them over the head, throw them in the back of the American made pick-up truck, and drag them home" method!

Been 16 years now, must have done something right!
