DIS Dads DISDads: Person To Post LAST! Is The Winner 5

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.

So help me out here. Is the point of these threads to just be the last person to post before the thread is closed?

That's about the Crux of it. Trying to be last.
(of course I suppose it could be a mod/admin that would ultimately win). :)

Webmaster Kathy usually gets last but we settle for second to last. Before an upgrade, they would usually should down a thread around page 250. Now it is anybodies guess.

Hmm... over at a popular wetshaving forum (Badger and Blade), we have threads that have run for years with upwards of 10,000+ posts. Heck. There's a thread called Sheng of the Day for members to post which Pu'er they're drinking on any particular day... It was started in 2008 and has over 7,000 posts!! It's likely the longest continual written conversation regarding tea in the history of the internet. :surfweb:

I wonder if the length of threads here is limited for conservation of server space?

Was limited, not anymore though. The only way to get a thread shut down is to ask a mod to do it.

Why shut it down, it's not offensive, is it? (Okay, perhaps a little annoying at times but not offensive!)
