Discovery Cover over Spring Break?!

We just booked a last minute trip for our spring break 4/12 - 20.

We are doing it all on points - flights, hotel, and I got the Disney tickets with the Orbitz 20% cash back.

I was thinking about Discovery Cove, now that DS is 6 and can do the swim. I don't know if I am more shocked by the pricing ($459 pp!) or the fact that there is no availability for the 10 days all around Spring Break!

Are there any work arounds? Or will we just be doing dolphin rides in the Hilton pool?

I don't think there is a way around it. Seaworld has some really good dolphin and beluga interactions but you won't get the whole DC experience. Or you could go to Clearwater beach and go on a dolphin cruise instead.

They have a small limited number of people they let into the park each day and an even smaller number that can do dolphin swim. Because it is spring break - high season - the prices are high and they get it no problem.

Ticket prices for DC increase as availability decreases, so you will be looking at much higher pricing when you are very close to your travel date. I am betting the $459 pp was easily $100 or more less 6 months ago. Definitely not one of those places where it pays to wait until the last minute, unfortunately.

Have you tried your local AAA office to see if they have ticket availability for your dates at a better price than DC direct?

Discovery Cove is showing availability on 4/18. Ive also heard sometimes its easier to book two parties of 2 versus one party of 4. I guess its a glitch in the system. It wouldn't hurt to call them either. Good luck. Discovery Cove is by far our favorite vacation day of the year. Cant wait till May 26th !
