I have just been reading all your info on DC and have found it very interesting and helpful my two daughters and me want to swim with dolphins, but hubby not bothered, we are not going till October, when should I book and do I just pick a day now and say thats when we want it? I am very new to a computer so find things very slow going, I found the info on www. but how do I book it do I go through my travel agent?

I booked directly with Discovery Cove on their website about 9 months in advance. You have to be fairly sure of your plans to do this though. You are allowed one change of date (subject to availability) without extra cost and we were very glad to have that option when we got there as it was pouring with rain and we were able to rebook for two days later when the weather was better. You also have to pay upfront on the website which may not be the case if you add it to a package holiday. You should have a great time whichever way you choose to book.

We did Discovery Cove last October and booked it around Easter time using their website - all the dates out of the 2 weeks we were in Orlando were still available at the time of booking.

Hi Lynne, I would agree to book your day there towards the beginning of your holiday ( but maybe not the first couple of days). It's likely the weather will be at it's best the earlier you're there, but it gives you the flexibility to rebook if the forcast shows a few rainy/stormy days.
I would book it direct with Discovery Cove (unless you find a GREAT DEAL through an agent) , not sure if this is the link you used for the info but http://www.discoverycove.com is the official site. Anyone I've known that has had a problem come up, DC has been very helpful in trying to accommodate them.

If you're 100% certain you're going to go to DC, then IMHO you might as well book up fairly early to avoid dissapointment. I would first make sure you have travel insurance and it does cover you if you end up not going to Florida at all. If you have insurance, I can't see it being a problem. Only if you had already paid for DC tickets, then took out insurance, then cancelled could I see the possibility of problems coming up

I'm presuming your hubby would spend the day with you ( and the week at Seaworld) just not take part in the Dolphin swim ?

We booked through our travel agent. No problems at all. The tickets arrived some three weeks before we left. The travel agent booked them through a company called Seligo.

We booked direct with the online website www.discoverycove.com only a week ago and managed to get easter sunday as we wanted to avoid Disney that day....Hope your booking go's well

I've booked to go on Easter Sunday as well. I think I booked last October but can't be sure. There is an option on the website where you only need to pay a deposit, can't remember what the link said but it will be when you've filled everything in.

They took about 25% from my credit card as a deposit and they will automatically debit my card again in March for the rest.

Hope this will ease the burden on you purse until October!

last year we were in Orlando in february and went to seaworld for the day. Because we knew we were coming back to orlando in October, we booked discovery cove in february on our visit to seaworld and were given $30.00 off the price per person, this was a big saving.

I booked in December for this February. I booked direct with DC. It is about £25 cheaper per person this way. Also you get a better choice of when you want to go. The options come up on the computer, what is available.

We are going on 24 February, which is the day before we come home. We thought that as it was relaxing it was a good way to wind down before we came home.

As we are doing theme park overload this was the option that we thought would be best. Also the DC ticket allows you to visit seaworld before or after your trip to DC, which is included in the price.

I will definitely post what the experience was like when I come back.
