Has anyone been to Discovery Cove with a toddler? We are taking DD when she is 18 months and I am wondering if anyone had advice/tips etc.

Honestly, my DD is 13 but we would not have taken her to DC at that age and we took her everywhere. If I chose to do DC I would have hired a nanny so that I could relax.

We are just back.

Tips:

Remember, you will have to change off with another adult to do some of the fun things (Dolphin swim, coral reef).

They will allow her to enter the water for a family photograph with the dolphin if you want.

The water in the coral reef and stingray pools is extremely cold. I don't know if they have little wet suits that size.

Get her used to wearing a life jacket every minute. The whole park, practically, is deep pools of water. You will be miserable if she refuses to wear one and you have to keep a hand on her every minute.

You may enjoy floating on the lazy river together, but use a float. It is very deep and you'll need to support her.

I did not see if they had any high chairs in the dining area.

She may really like the aviary if she's not afraid of birds. Ditto the ray pool.

She can meet some animals at the education cabana.

Have fun!

my 3 year old. we have been teaching him to snorkel and swim for DC .. will they even let him in the coral reef? He can swim and snorkel perfectly.
