dolphin swim-when you have your swim is it individual one on one time with the dolphin or is it in a group of people?

Also how far away is the beach from the lagoon? Will you be able to take pics from the beach with a zoom lens?

How expensive are the pics that DC take of the dolphin swim?

And last question :) has anyone gone by themselves without their spouse or kids?

Sorry for all the questions but this is my first time at DC and in FL. I've always wanted to swim with the dolphins. I can't wait!! :Pinkbounc

It's a wonderful experience! You go out in a small group to interact with the dolphin, then everyone gets a little one-on-one time to hold and swim with your flippered host. The pictures are pricey...I don't have exact dollar figures. Someone on the beach can get decent pictures with a good lens, you're maybe 35 feet out. The professional pictures are great for the unique experience that it is though.

I went with my girlfriend, no kids, and it was an incredible experience. Go any way you can!

You are in a small group with the dolphins. My wife and I were trainers for a day and there were 6 in our group. You will get to do some things all by yourself with the dolphins.

The video of your swim experience is $69.00 I think. To put 11 photos on a CD was $150.00 but all were VERY well done and worth it. If you can afford it, buy them.

The beach is right there and pictures can be taken but I'm pretty sure you have your back to the beach most of the time. Let the DC photogs take those pictures, they are in the perfect place for them.

If it's not too late, try the Trainer for a day program, it was cool. :thumbsup2

You're gonna love it!

The group is so small (we had 7 in ours) that you feel like you're there all by yourself. It's lots of fun to watch others up close interact with the dolphin too. You get plenty of time to touch the dolphin yourself and see it up close.

As to the photos, they're expensive. But so is your day at DC! They will take a pic of you with the dolphin standing there. They will take a pic of you kissing the dolphin, and they'll take a pic of you riding with the dolphin. We bought one of my wife and daughter and I standing with the dolphin and we bought a pic of our daughter kissing the dolphin and one of her riding the dolphin. Since it's just you, I would say, pay the money for the pic of you either kissing or riding or both. Forget the video.

We scanned the pic of our daughter kissing the dolphin and printed it out. Then we brought that scanned photo to Walgreens and had it made into a greeting card for the holidays (you can't copy the actual one from DC, it's protected).

By the way, YOU'LL LOVE DC!

One more thing about the cost of the video and CD. Yes, they are expensive but each are very professionally done. If you get your pictures out on the CD, there is a really cool program that starts when you put it in your computer. With this program you can see your pictures, some really professional ones they took and there is even a video about DC! :thumbsup2

The video too is very well done. There is a pretty long video all about the cove and whats there before your individual video starts.

is the video really worth it. I mean, if i go it'll only be me and my future hubby, so, if they have like 4 or 5 other people, will they be able to film us for a while, or what if i buy the video and then realize i'm only in it for one minute?

If you are "trainer for a day", there is only 6 in your group. There is lots of different stuff that they film of you. They film when you first meet the dolphin and get to touch it. They film when you ride one of the dolphins. They film when you ride 2 dolphins. They film when you touch and kiss the dolphin. They film when you tell your dolphin to go and jump. They film when everyone tells the all the dolphins to go out and perform. Yes, I think it is very much worth it.

There's other stuff on the DVD too. There are really nice pictures with an announcer talking all about DC (sort of a little movie).

The DVD is our favorite memento that we took away from DC. They wouldn't let us have a dolphin :confused3

We were at DC on the 31st Aug for my DD 12th birthday.

We had a wonderful time and was well worth the expense.

Yes the photo's are very expensive but to us it was a once in a lifetime trip and I wanted to have those memories to look at in the future. We brought the CD with 10pics on which is $150 oh you can have 11 pics if you get that one or it was $200 for 20 pics. You could also get magnets and keychains which were $15 for 2 but the pictures did have to be the same. If you buy the CD you get the copyright, so can produce your own pictures for family and friends.

There were 8 in our group us four and 2 2's.

The dolphin interaction was very good, we did some group work first then we all had time on our own or with family. We all had a ride with the dolphin too. I think we had about half an hour in the water with the dolphin.

As to taking photo's from the beach yes you can do this, but your back is facing the beach almost all of the time.
