what time have people arrived at discovery cove in the past? iv heard that if you arrive too late you wont get a dolphin swim time, however surely you must if youve paid for this even if late. i was hoping for a swim time before lunch, any time suggestions (in september). thanks

When I went in March, we got took mears in a taxi from all star music resort and got there around 8:15ish. We were the second group to have the dolphin swim. I hope this helps. Our swim was around 9:30 I belive.

o thanks, do you remember how much the mears was? we're staying at pop and i was thinking of using disney transportation to get to the transportation centre, then getting the lynx bus for $1.50. but if the disney transportation doesnt run early enough, we would have to pay for a taxi to the bus, and maybe mears would be cheaper?

were you let in at 8.15? or did everyone just crowd around the gates?

thanks for your help

We called mears up the night before. There was a taxi waiting for us. It cost $32.00 round trip for the both of us I think. We got there, got checked in. They showed us where things were. We got our locker, our wet suits, and had breakfast. All before 9am.

Mears is $15 per person round trip from POP to DC.
When I went a few years ago, we were there right when the doors opened (don't remember the exact time), possibly even before the park opened? We were the first group to go.

Hi! My boyfriend and I just went to Discovery Cove a few weeks ago.

We arrived at about 8:05 AM. There was a line out the door to check in but it was very organized and fast. We were able to get the first dolphin swim time (9:20) which was great. I recommend getting there early, checking in and trying to get that first early AM dolphin time, because then you can relax timewise for the rest of the day and not worry about a schedule.

Plus, I found that the dolphins were super excited to be out swimming and interacting with people first thing in the morning! They seemed happy to get out and about, and see people after a long night off to themselves! They were very lively and fun first thing in the morning.

I was told that the rule at Discovery Cove is that the dolphins don't HAVE to go out and swim with people if they don't want to (no dolphins are forced to interact), but first thing in the morning it seemed like all the dolphins wanted to come out and play!

:sunny:

We just got back, and were checked in at 8:30, line was out the door, our dolphin swim was at 11:25. We saw people still checking in after 11:00:eek:

I just called and Mears Yellow Taxi is $18 each way from the Portofino Bay hotel. You can call up to a week before to make a reservation.

We usually arrive around 7:45 - 8:00am. After a quick check-in and issue of photo ID, we usually have a light breakfast, before being assigned to a cabana. :thumbsup2
