Discovering DVC timandlesley style-A PTR, 19 days TRIP REPORT LINK PG.119!!!!!

Hey Lesley and Tim (I feel bad, I always forget to include him:sad2: )

I have a question for you guys. I know you ate at Akershus(Norway) for lunch last year. Did the kids eat off the menu or were they able to order something else? Thanks!:thumbsup2

Diane

The express passes vary depending on what time of year it is. For example, I went for a Sunday in January before MLKJr day and it was $30pp

FYI, islands of adventure only has 2 roller coaster, its not a roller coaster park like six flags/cedar point. Its a lot newer than the other park, but its really awesome because it has 5 "lands" (like MK) theres a marvel land with the spiderman ride which is just AMAZING and unlike anything you'll ever go on. There's Jurassic Park which is a splash mountain type ride. Suess Landing makes you feel like you are literally in a dr suess book. Toon Lagoon is all water-based rides, and themed for sunday comics! Don't get me wrong, Universal is nice too but a lot of the rides can be outdated except for The Mummy & The Simpsons (those being the 2 new rides) Don't rule out IOA because it has 2 major coasters, theres so much more to it than that...especally the theming! Steven Speielberg designed the park! One of my favorite feelings of Universal is walking under the Jurassic Park "Arch" and really feeling like you are in JP!! If you are a fan of the movie, you will love this

I sound like a spokesperson for Universal! haha, im really not, just want you guys to have a great time!
Thanks Nicole, for everything! Here's the deal though, Lauren is a HUGE Barney fan and is REALLY looking forward to seeing him. Tim and Luke are HUGE Simpsons fans. Unless we decide to go for more than 1 day this time (which I really doubt cause Tim is seriously upset this is cutting into his Disney time even though we are in Disney 15 days) we will probably just hit the normal Universal. But don't worry, we'll experience the other one soon, probably next summer if not this one. Thanks again for your insight!
Lesley

Lesley I think you can get tickets to Universal through AAA or SWOEA (your district is a part of this right). Just check their website...... I remember they used to be in the flyers all the time. Sounds fun to check it out.
Thanks, I see the discounts on the SWOEA site now, THANKS!

Thanks for including Tim Diane ; ) The kids found things they liked on the menu, they liked the traditional klajotter (however that is spelled), it tastes kinda like meatloaf and they liked it. Also they loved the stuff on the salad bar. Do you boys want to see the princesses, or do you : )
;)
Lesley

:rotfl2: The boys are graciously taking one for the team(or their mom):thumbsup2 I figured this might be my one and only chance so I am going to see as many at 1 time as I can!!:goodvibes

How sweet of them. I loved this meal, for the princesses of course. you know, the first year just Lauren and I went but I convinced Luke and Tim to go with us this past summer and Luke enjoyed the attention he got from the Princesses, calling him "prince" and kissing him on the cheek, etc. very cute!
HAVE FUN!!!!
Lesley

So I'm so excited because our shipment from Disney shopping came today!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1: :hyper: :cheer2:
Here is the bounty:
Here are the kids in their shirts (I have the same Daisy one Lauren is wearing so we match and Tim has the same Goofy one so they match, don't worry I have pics of those too:thumbsup2 )

I am so excited about these purchases. As I write this we are being pelted with snow again, this winter has been crazy. I am posting this random picture of a HUGE icicle that was in Luke's window this week, this thing was GIGANTIC:
2-3-09006.jpg

Our entire house, trees, everything was coated in this ice and icicles this past week. That finally was starting to melt and then this snow storm rolled in this afternoon giving us 2 inches an hour. CRAZY. I am ready for Disney!!!!
Have a good night.
Lesley

Girl!! I LOVE your shirts! And that Mickey one is not boyish... it's perfect!! you are a deal diva!

Oh.. and that 2 inches of snow in an hour.. that hit Indy just as my drive to school began. It took me an hour and 45 minutes to get there (normally takes me 25) It was HORRIBLE! It hit too fast an unexpected for schools to do anything about it. ICK!

Going to Disneyshopping right now! Later...

Connor just saw your icicle picture and he said, "Was that taken at Christmastime?" I told him that's what it looks like up in Ohio right now and trust me, there isn't a smiley available to adequately convey his astonishment. :rotfl:

loveee the Daisy shirt! GREAT deal!... I can't believe all the weather you guys are having this season!! It is super cold today in ATL .... my kids would kill for a "snow day" Glad to hear all the trip plans are coming along...

I love the purchases!! I can't believe the size of that icicle, can you rip it down? I feel like if that thing breaks loose and someones underneath it :scared1:

I understand about Universal, you guys should have a great time! The Mummy ride is really awesome, so fun! If they are huge simpsons fans they will really love the themed area!! Can't wait to see what you think!

PS: I have a TR from 2008 that follows my brother and I to Universal before we get to disney if you wanna check it out http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1919462 I hate "soliciting" but I thought it might help you to see what the universal experience is!

Hi Tim and Lesley- I love the shirts!! I am so excited because we just booked a July trip to Disney! We are going July 19-24th and staying at the Beach Club Villas. I have been offered a long term substitute job starting in two weeks for the rest of the year. I have stayed at home for the last 8 years so this is going to be a big adjustment to our family. However, because of the extra money, we are going to Disney! It is worth it! We have never gone in the summer so that is going to be an adventure. I am really looking forward to hearing about your trip now that when you get back we will be so close to leaving! We have also decided to book a October trip for just us during Food and Wine. We were down there this year with the kids during Food and Wine and had an amazing time one night when we put the kids in kids club and walked around eating and drinking. So fun!!

One a side note, this job I am taking is teaching students with learning disabilities in grades 3-5. I am looking forward to it since it has been so long.

Just wanted to share my good news with you guys. It is always so thrilling when you book a Disney trip!!

Hi guys...another question! I know you usually take your laptop on your trips. Do you ever have any issues leaving it with bell services on check in/check out days? Do you use a laptop lock while it is in your room? I am thinking in the room won't be such a big deal because we won't have a daily maid/room cleaning but I was curious about check in /check out days. We have to bring it for Bryan's job. Thanks!:thumbsup2

Hey Lesley and Tim and Lauren and Luke!!!

LOVE the shirts---even the Mickey one!!! I don't think it looks boyish at all---I think it will be so cute on you---especially with some of your coordinating Mickey jewelry thrown in!!!

Started laughing at the icicle pic---we have one just like it hanging down by our patio door to our deck!!! Tom works downtown, and said he has been dodging falling icicles all week when he is out walking to lunch and to the parking garage!!! SCARY! I hope you all weren't stuck too terribly in all that snow traffic last night---that was CRAZY!!!!

i like it! i tend to like the boyish shirts better though - i think they look more classic.

YOU'LL PUT YOUR EYE OUT, KID!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

I know a Christmas Story quote when I see it! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Great updates!!!!!!! I just love shopping updates!:cool1:

We have a nice laptop carrying case and we have left it with bell services upon check in and check out and never had a problem. We leave it in the room unlocked but with a password on it and have never had an issue either. We have to have it for my job too I'm thrilled we won't have to pay for internet being DVC members that will save us a ton!

Hi back at ya! Thanks for the shirts comments. I luckily made it home before it got crazy but it took my mom 4 hours to get home, she called me several times hysterical. I'm done with all the snow!
