Discovering DVC timandlesley style-A PTR, 19 days TRIP REPORT LINK PG.119!!!!!

The new furniture looks great. I love how you incorporated Disney into the kitchen and living room. That is an awesome idea ! Thanks for sharing.

Everything looks SO great Lesley!!!! You have done such a great job with the Disney Decorating!!!! It must be so fantastic to hang out and look around with all those reminders of Disney!!!! HEAVEN for sure!

I just love the fact that, no matter who walks into your home, they will immediately know that you are Disney Lovers!!!

Beautiful furniture, too! We are SOOO wanting to get some, but are waiting until Shae is old enough to not spill her drinks every two seconds..

Awesome furniture! I loved the mirror with the mickey heads and noticed the the disney block letter frame right away! Looks good!:thumbsup2

Very nice!

We've been renovating our basement and have been looking for sectionals, a new entertainment center and tv. I'm making that my Disney room!

I love the new sofa and love seat! :thumbsup2 And also love how Disney-fied your house is!! Everything looks great!!!!
Thanks : )
Love the new furniture Lesley! All the Disney pictures look terrific too!:thumbsup2
Thank you Diane : )

Luke looks so tall on that loveseat! He is getting big!
I know, my baby is GROWING UP! He'll be eight years old in 2 weeks.

Leslie,
I really like your new furniture, it doesn't take long for the kids to make themselves comfortable. The framed photopass pictures look great as a collection on the wall. The island is a good idea in the kitchen, looks like Lauren likes it too! Thanks for sharing. I'm cooking up a traditional Thanksgiving meal tonight, the kids are coming over to eat, and the football games are on.:goodvibes
Thanks, glad you liked it. Yes, we are loving the new island, a hit with the kids for sure. Hope your meal went well.
Lesley

Your new furniture is great. I love all the disney touches everywhere.

Island is so cute for the kids..love it:)
Glad you enjoyed the pics.

Well, it's my TR from my '08 trip...and my pictures will be back up and working on the 23rd. Accidently went over my bandwidth or whatever on photobucket. :rolleyes2 But please subscribe and after the 23rd, you can see! :)

We're going to be staying at OKW!
I will be sure and go back and check it out. OKW looks nice because you get two beds instead of a pullout couch in a studio. Have you stayed there before?

Very nice!!! We need a new couch too, but I have big dogs that like to jump on it whenever they hear the wind blow outside. So, I'll wait until the kids stop eating on it and the dogs stop shredding it with their nails.
I LOVE your Disney themed kitchen. I have a red kitchen and am gradually turning it Disney. It's painted red, so I just have to add the extra touches like you did.
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, keeping Mickey off of our new couch will be tricky but so far so good. Glad you like the kitchen, good luck with yours!
Lesley

Hi Tim and Lesley - I haven't checked your PTR in a while so had to go back a ways for updates. Thanks for the links on your homepage. I have no Disney trips planned in the near future so it makes it harder to come on here and read. I soooo want to have a trip to plan. Darn this economy!! I am helping a friend do her Disney trip so I finally came on here to get my updates.

I just wanted to tell you that your ADRs look great except for one glaring ommission....JIKO!!! You are staying at AKL, you have to fit that in. My dh and I ate there on our trip in November and we agreed hands down that it was our favorite restaurant in all of Disney. The steak was amazing (better than LeCellier)....the cheese plate was to die for, the wines were so good (African wines).....We love Jiko so much that we got a puppy for Christmas and named her Jiko!!

If you can, fit it in...you won't be disappointed!

We have driven to Disney before too ( 12 hours for us). It is nice to have your car especially when you are staying at SSR!
Jiko, well, if we don't get it in this trip on a date night for Tim and I we'll have to hit it when we return to AKL in November for food and wine fest, must be good if it inspired the name of your puppy, thanks for your comments about it!
Lesley

I spy lots of Disney touches in your house -- that's awesome!

The new furniture looks great!
Yes, I keep adding more and more Disney touches every day, can't wait to hit the World of Disney store when we get down there, now that we are driving I will have tons of room to get stuff home : )
The new stuff looks great.:) Love all your photos and frames.
How is Tim's knee doing these days, I'm hoping since you haven't mentioned anything lately he's doing better?:goodvibes Good luck with the no eating in the living room. I try that on an ongoing basis:rotfl2:
Tim's knee is better, he is going to therapy. Able to walk on it now with a small brace and do stairs SLOWLY, not 100% but he's around 80% which is great.
Lesley

Love the new furniture and all your Disney touches. :thumbsup2
Thanks!

Love the new furniture and the Disney frames look great too. I love the Mickey mirror too! We have our kitchen all Disneyfied too. But where did you get the mickey head stencil?
Well, I took one of the paint swatches from home depot and cut it out and traced it on a sponge and then cut the sponge out. I'm not crafty AT ALL, so if I could pull it off, so can you : )

Hi Lesley! I love your new furniture! Even the pillows fit in with the Disney theme, just cuz they look kind of retro:thumbsup2 Have a great holiday!
I know, they reminded me of the Contemporary resort type of decor.
Lesley

Congrats on your new furniture! Looks great!
Thanks!

Looks GREAT, Lesley!!! Luv it!
What would life be without
DISNEY??
Man, I don't even want to think about that.:rotfl:

Thank you, can't wait to add more. Yes, it does bring a smile to my face each time I enter that room. The kids love the new pics too.
Lesley

Thanks Susie, I agree, can't wait for family to come over and see the new additions. I understand about Shae getting older, that is why we had waited too. Nice to be rid of our juice stained furniture.
Lesley

My best friend got that mirror for me 3 years ago for my b-day from Disneyshopping.com and it is what started the whole room off.
Lesley

Very nice!

We've been renovating our basement and have been looking for sectionals, a new entertainment center and tv. I'm making that my Disney room!
How fun, enjoy decorating!!!! Our basement is Yankees for Tim so I get Disney upstairs : )
Lesley

OKW looks nice because you get two beds instead of a pullout couch in a studio. Have you stayed there before?

This was our first time staying there and we LOVED it. We usually stayed at the villas at WL because we love being close tot he MK and we just felt like it was "home". But after staying at OKW, it's so much nicer! The rooms are so much bigger than the villa rooms at WL.

Hey Lesley!!!! Checking in with you!!

Love the new furniture!!!!! It looks really good!!!!! I also love all the disney touches in your home!!

O.K., so I've been reading about the changes to the DVC point charts for 2010 and I see a lot of people are upset. I'm confused though, didn't the points go down? Seems to me we can still get a LOT of bang for our buck with the points, what am I missing???:confused3
Lesley

Hi Lesley! I was confused at first too but I think I figured it out! They lowered the Friday and Saturday night points and raised the Sunday-Thursday points. Where you and I would usually look at the "weekly" points usage, most of the "complainers" were saying that they usually only stay Sunday-Thursday on points therefore raising the point total for their stays. The weekly points needed has basically remained unchanged!:thumbsup2

Precisely. What she said. :) This is explained in the News section of the Member website if you want DVC's explanation of what they did.

Wow - I was told the number of points could never change, only the dates for the different rates, like Dream, Magic, etc.:confused3

Thanks, I'm actually excited about the points change. Since we go for at least a week in the summers with our points and then, depending on how our first only "adults weekend' goes this November, we would only be able to escape with my teachers schedule for weekend getaways here and there, so by them lowering the weekend points it will make this more "affordable" with our points. YIPEE!!!:cool1:

Lesley

So, today was the moment of truth for us...............
TAX DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad2:
I got my second W2 in the Mail from University of Phoenix today and sent Tim out the door to take Lauren to gymnastics.
A lump always appears in my throat on this day because all of the budget for our summer and spring break travels comes from this amount.
Well...............................................................
I'm HAPPY to report we got an AWESOME refund this year:cool1: :cheer2: pixiedust:
So we can proceed as planned with our Disney ressies, dining plans, buying annual passes, etc.!!!!!:thumbsup2
I am going to finish up and efile this weekend and then when we get the refund I plan on buying the annual pass voucher before we go, any tips for this?????:confused3
