Discovering DVC timandlesley style-A PTR, 19 days TRIP REPORT LINK PG.119!!!!!

Looking over all those ADRs makes me HUNGRY for some DISNEY FARE!!!! Looks like a GREAT usage of the credits and a wide variety of food! How can you possibly go wrong?!?!?!? ;o) We have done Turf Club at SSR twice---both for dinner---and REALLY enjoyed our meals. I am hoping for you that lunch is just as good! My nephew had this risotto as part of his meal in June that was TO DIE FOR!!! We all sampled it, and I still think it was one of our favorite things we ate on that trip! I think your plans on getting those early AM ADRs for breakfasts inside the parks at MK and AK are GREAT! One of the best things we have EVER done on any of our trips! I hope you get them all!

Your ADR's look great and hope you enjoy Boma! I also think it is a great idea to do Ohana on the 4th of July so you can see the fireworks from the beach!

On a side note I am so tempted to plan a trip for this upcoming year since they are having the Military discounts and then yesterday I got a 40% off pin code via e-mail! I just don't think it will work out though. I have always wanted to get a Pin code and I finally did and won't be able to use it! Oh well I will evetually get over it...I think.

Lesley---I also forgot to mention that I think you all will LOVE the character experience at 1900 Park Fare with the stepmother and stepsisters---especially with Tim along for the ride. The more you interact with them....the more they will harass, I mean interact with you!!! It was SO much fun when we went there last November with them---especially the stepsisters!!!!

Great dining list

Making me hungry:popcorn::

1900 Park Fare should be fun with the evil stepsisters...they look like a riot:laughing:

I'm surprised I didn't see whispering canyon on there! I love the antics you guys [or should i say tim] gets in to! It looks really good, im certain you'll love Boma...and when I stayed at AKL, the feeling of being in the room relaxing and just going "oh time to go downstairs for dinner" was WONDERFUL!

Lesley, your ADRs look fabulous! You will love AKL - it is so beautiful and relaxing, and you can be entertained and educated just by walking around the resort and watching the animals! Hope you love BOMA!

Lesley,

Your choices look great. We will try the Hoop-de-doo for the first time in June also. We have always wanted to do it, but it has been either cost or time that has made us decide against it. You will LOVE Boma, DH insisted we do 2 nights there while on the DXDDP. They have a great breakfast as well, which we will enjoy twice. It's so nice to have a "night in" at AKL. We will try Jiko for a parent's night out in June. I've heard wonderful things about it.

Do you know that AKL has many cool activites for kids? Unless it has changed since last time, they have things like african drumming, pelican and flamingo feeding, evening storytime and there is a kid's parade with african instruments that starts at the gift shop. Ask for a schedule when you arrive to see if you can fit any of these in. Kids get a bead for each activity they complete to add to a lanyard or necklace. DD also enjoyed talking to the experts on the savannah, they were such a wealth of information.

I remember DD engaging in a long conversation with a CM and when I asked her what it was about she said "we were talking about the mating habits of elephants, Mommy". I could barely keep a straight face as the CM complimented DD of sharing her knowledge of this topic, LOL. Anyway, you'll love it at AKL.

First of all, the video that Tim made was GREAT! That took a lot of time. I've been trying to talk my DH into driving from NW Ohio. But, he says no go. It'll take too long.
Second, HOLY CRAP!! You get to eat at a LOT of places!!:woohoo: :woohoo: How awesome is that! You should be able to give a lot of reviews for the rest of us who aren't eating in as many places.

Looks awesome :thumbsup2

Your trying alot of new places which is great

Hopefully all the ressies work out :wizard:

Side note:
We have driven many times from NY and it has worked out for us you guys are a great team you should be fine :)
Thanks! Also thanks for the positive driving story, hopefully all will go well with us. It will be our first time driving straight through!

Oh, I hope you guys love Boma as much as we do! It's our favorite place to eat on the entire property!!!

The rest of your choices look great, too! I am still tinkering with all of our ADRs -- there are a couple of places that I am torn about. I think I want to eat at LTT for lunch one day and 50's Prime Time, but we may opt for a 2-credit signature instead. Decisions, decisions. ;)
I have heard SO many positive things about Boma, can't wait to try it. What are the favorites we should try there? LTT lunch was GREAT for us, we just loved the food at lunch!

Looks great Lesley!:thumbsup2 I am almost done with ours too! Have you ever been to the plaza for lunch? We are thinking of doing this on the afternoon we leave:confused3 It will actually be Bryan's birthday and he wants to go to the MK on his birthday! Did you make a request at Saratoga for your 1 night on the 21st?:goodvibes I just thought...now that you have a ressie for the 21st you can call for your ADR'S a day earlier now too! Woo Hoo!

Diane
We've never eaten at the plaza at all, can't wait to try it. I haven't put any requests on my ressie's yet, it's on my "list". YEAH about the ADR window, didn't think of that, thanks!

Tim did a great job on the video. The ressies look good, too. I think you made a good decision with the driving this time. 16 days is a long trip and it will be nice to have your car to use if you want
Glad you enjoyed the video! I agree, we'll need our car for those 16days, especially with July 4th crowds.
Oh that looks like some good eatin':rotfl2: You will love the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine. They were so funny. Our poor dd4 was scared of her but her autie told that she was scarier than Lady Tremain so that made her feel better:rotfl2: Boma is so nice for dinner and they have an amazing breakfast buffet as well. yum yum. Great slide show and wow on the decision to drive. It'll be great to be able to bring food with you.
I can't wait to experience 1900 park fare with them, I worry about Lauren being scared of them though, she is SUPER sensitive. WE'll see how that turns out.

I know, makes me hungry too. I looked at the Turf Club lunch menu after your post and think we may skip it now, thanks for the heads up.

I can't imagine not liking Boma after all the positives I have read here. Yes, I think the 4th should be nice. The military discuonts are incredible! Is your husband active military? If so did you see the free hoppers, etc. deal that is AMAZING!!! I can't believe you got a pin code, soooooooo jealous!

Yes, I think Tim will have lots of fun with them, hopefully LAuren will hold up, if you remember how sensitive she was at 50's primetime, sure it will be similar with the stepsisters, we'll see how it goes.

Now everyone has me wondering about the Boma breakfast, maybe I should squeeze that in.
That is halarious about your DD, so funny! Thanks for the kids activities tip, I read that aloud to Luke and Lauren and they were super excited. Lauren's favorite animal is a flamingo! : )

Lesley

Thanks so much for posting this! I just checkedout Ebay and they are selling REALLY HIGH right now, wonder if it's because people know they are hard to get now.
Lesley

I was really excited when I saw that!! Now, that means we can take our sweet Mickey's back!!!:goodvibes

So, the we've been excited about new things we can do this year at the parks and are super excited about the new Kim Possible Challenge at Epcot. Luke is REALLY excited, especially after viewing the video posted below. Check it out, what do you think???

Lesley

Wow, that looks so cool and like a lot of fun

ONly thing is, can you imagine if there are like thousands of people doing it and all walking around, reading their cell phones and not paying attention to where they are walking

that would be a riot :rotfl:

Hey Lesley! I feel like I haven't been visiting your PTR enough.. I'm sorry!!:guilty:

Your ADR list looks like a multi-colored heaven! We haven't been able to do the dining plan in a while and I'm very jealous. You guys are going to experience some marvelous food and entertainment.. and I'm in AWE that you have figured out the schedule on top of two types of dining plans...:worship:

I was also excited to see that the family is driving down. It think that is awesome. We also decided to drive down for our Spring Break vacation. It's just so nice to be able to load up the car with groceries and stuff for the villa. Other folks have mentioned, too, how convenient it is to drive to places when needed.

HINT FOR YOU!! Since you're staying at DVC property, you can park at the Boardwalk and walk into Epcot through International Gateway. We do this all the time, especially if we are staying until closing. It's awesome to meander around World Showcase while everyone else is being herded through the front gates!

I also think driving as a family provides LOTS of opportunities for conversations, games, and experiences. And your kiddos are at just the perfect age to just LOVE being with Mommy and Daddy non-stop!!

Sorry.. so long!! Have fun planning more!

i think that looks really cool! i didn't watch the entire video. does it take you all around WS? if so, if i were you i'd devote a specific day for that so you guys don't feel like you missed out on your "regular" touring of WS. with 16 days i think you'd have plenty of time!

Lesley,
I showed this to the boys last night and they thought it was awesome!:thumbsup2 Have you seen this yet? http://www.aerophile.com/en/11/151/...alt-disney-world-resort-lifts-off-next-spring

It looks SO COOL, CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT!!:goodvibes

I have heard SO many positive things about Boma, can't wait to try it. What are the favorites we should try there? LTT lunch was GREAT for us, we just loved the food at lunch!

Try everything at Boma! My favorites (that I am convinced I could live on if need be) are the chicken pepperpot stew, the chicken cilantro salad, all the different cuts of meat and fish (especially the salmon), and the desserts -- definitely try the zebra domes, the pineapple cheesecake, and the coconut tiramasu. Mmmm.

I really want to try LTT for lunch -- still playing around with my possible ADRs -- that will probably be the update for today.

That is so wicked cool!!! Connor will love, love, love this! He will totally get into it and pretend to be a spy while he is playing! Thanks for sharing this!

I'm SO excited for this TR! We had to cancel our Spring Break trip due to financial reasons (buying our first home might be more important than a WDW trip). So, you all are "timandlesley Wan Kenobi" - my only Disney hope!

Can't wait for more! popcorn::

I know, I can't imagine. They do limit it to how many people do this at one time. By the looks of what I've seen you can FP it and then come back at your assigned time, can't wait to try it. Luke is SUPER excited about it!

Hey Sooze, you've been kinda busy, I understand, wish I was as busy going to Disney as you. Your idea about the parking at International Gateway is an awesome one, we will definitely be doing that on Epcot nights. Yes, my kids do enjoy their mommy and daddy time so we will cherish that while we can!
Lesley

Yes, by the looks of it it does. Yes, we will be there for so long we will have plenty of time to do this. They said the average "mission" is about 45 min. long, so not bad at all, Luke is so super excited about it.
Lesley

Glad your boys liked it, I thought of you when I posted it. Yes, I've seen that, I wonder what the wait will be like and how much it will cost. Have you seen a price?

You have me so excited for Boma, I will definitely try everything, that stew sounds yummy. LTT for lunch is worth messing around with your ADR's for : )
