I have read the info about this excursion on the Disney Cruise site and others. It sounds like a nice excursion. My question though is, do we get to tour the inside of the resort with this one too or just take the ferry to Atlantis and then go through the aquarium? We really want to hit the aquarium but also want to see the inside more of the resort too (without sneaking around). We have thought about booking at comfort suites but don’t want to spend the 200+ for a room for the time we are going.

Thanks
Scott and Sunny

You are free to roam around Atlantis inside on your own. We played in the Casino, ate lunch, shopped, and had limited access outside. They had employees checking all accesses to the pool areas for armbands.

Just wondering if you were provided with some type of band/access pass when you did this Discover Atlantis Excursion that allowed you to freely wonder around the hotel, shops etc. I have read posts that said it is hard these days to easily get much further then the casino to view the hotel without permission (like being on an official excursion).

Thanks!

I'd like to find out about this, also. My husband & I would love to tour the resort, but we don't really want to use their pools, slides, or beaches, or pay for a whole night's stay in order to see the place. Is it mainly the pools & slides that you're not able to use without being an overnight guest?

My hubby and I did Atlantis on our own. We took a cab form the ship and were dropped off at the lobby. We went in side and went to the Casino first. (hubby won over $350.00 on the slot machine) Then we ate Lunch, then we shopped and looked around the Resort. We were there approx. 5 hours. We have been there twice on our own, no problems. You can see some of the aquarium for free. I have some picture's of Atlantis at www.picturetrail.com if interested. Where it say's visit album/members name put Tluvs2talk.

Thanks for the info Tluvs2talk. Anyone else out there do the Discover Atlantis excursion that can lend some insight as to the value of it?? Also has anyone else found that roaming around Atlantis (minus the pool/beach area) is not hard to do without anyone questioning your intentions?

Thanks Again!

We roamed around on our own in May 2001. We took the ferry over walked into the resort, it's a little walk from the ferry. We didn't play but walked through the casino and all the shops. I collect shot glasses and got a nice one at one of the shops. I even got my picture taken in a big chair that's there wit Atlantis on it, it was fun. We saw some of the aquarium but if you're not a guest you need to pay I think $25.00 to go it the aquarium. It rained that day so it was nice to be inside looking around. We didn't see much outside done to the pouring rain. If thecruise excursion includes the aquarium admission it's might be worth it if not go on your own.
