Are there normally NO discounts offered from the middle of June through the end of August. Its our first time going during this time period and are finding we will be paying rack rate for our room

If you could arrive on June 14th, there is a room only discount. You can then add tickets and dining to make a package.

You could also consider purchasing one annual pass if an annual pass room only discount comes out. You can add dining to an annual pass reservation and only one person in your group needs the pass.

My kids are in school until June 22 so we can't come until then. I am thinking there won't be any discounts.

The worst thing is that last year the discounts didn't show until the end of April/first of May - so you will probably have to wait a while more to see what they do for this year

There are generally some room discounts in the summer months, but 4th of July week is typically blacked out. For the last 8 years they have had free dining discounts near the middle to end of August through Septembet. This year's free dining discount came out this week for Disney Visa Card holders and will open to the general public for booking on Monday, March 5. This year's free dining discount dates are August 25 -September 29, 2012. That's a huge discount, one of the biggest Disney runs all year.
