We're going the 2nd weekend in Dec. My AAA rate at HRH is $183/night. Is that good?

i think its good.
i am going oct 7-8-9 late check out on the 10th.

paying $224. + tax = $249. 90 a night with AAA.....................and that is for a garden view......the cheapest room they have !!

Maybe it's a different season??? I just know when I was booking it, the gal was telling me it was very unusual for HRH to be lower than RP..so I jumped on it. Glad I did.

well guys through AAA of ny I am unable to get the 15 month power pass- oh well that would of have worked well for us :cheer2:

ms ojo...........you are a lucky ducky..........

That's nice to hear! At the time I was thinking I must be crazy. I have POFQ booked for Disney at $119/night...hoping for better AP rates to be announced....and here I was shelling out $183 a nite for 2 nites at HRH. :rotfl2: It was tough to swallow. But I'm so glad I did! I knew I wanted to be onsite for FOTL access....but it still was a real shock to have that type of pricing. At least I know now it was a really good rate I locked in. That helps!! :goodvibes

I'll be in Orlando in late Sept, and I'm leaving Disney for a day with DD11 in tow to jump to Universal for a day. I've been in both parks a few times, but DD hasn't been in IOA for five years (we were in US last summer), so I want to concentrate there. DW, not a big thrill ride fan (and having been in both parks before), wants to spend the day in Disney.

So, here's the setup.......

I want to do primarily IOA, and use whatever time is left in the day to do a US "greatest hits" run (Mummy, MIB, etc....). DD doesn't do upside down coasters, so Hulk and Dueling dragons are out. I plan on hitting Spiderman at least twice, and the water rides in Toon Lagoon at least twice each. We're planning on going on a Monday since this seems to be the slowest day.

We're going to get the 1 day park hopper for both of us, but it seems to be only sold at the gate. I can't find a discount for it anywhere. Does anyone know where to look? And....does the FOTL option (very enticing, since we're going to spend that day commando style) need to be purchased when I buy the tickets, or can I add it later in the day if the crowds turn out to be longer than anticipated? Is it good for both parks?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

you can use the express pass system that is free. it is similar to the disney fast pass. on the express pass, you select from a choice of three times that you want for that ride.

the express pass plus is the one that you can purchase. depending on the season, it can cost $20 or 30/5 for the day. that would be purchased when you buy your tickets. you asked if you can get it after you are in the parks and realize it is crowded and would need it.
they only sell so many express pass plus tickets. once they are sold out, you would not be able to purchase it.

I heard U could buy a 3 day Universal pass with no expiration date for about $118 for adults and 106 children. Can anyone confirm this and also like to know if these tickets are good for "park hopping between Univer. and Isles" on the same day? Thanks :sunny:

Ps, will be going with family mid Aug.

tell us where or what site you received this information before i make a statement.

there are five sites i have been to that sells multiday passes.
some are expiring, some aren't.
some are for 2 parks, some aren't

i have the buy a 2 day 2 park pass for $99 and receive 3 additional free days. these expire.

last year i bought the same thing but they did NOT expire. i still have a few days on that pass.

some of the convention site multi day tickets do expire.

share with us the web site so we can better inform you.

This was just "word of mouth" from friends returning from Universal this week, and they heard this from people they were talking to while waiting on same line for rides. My friends tickets do expire while the others do not-with park hopping free also. They didnt inquire any more since they had already bought their own tickets so the damage was already done, but they informed me that such tickets do exist since I'll be down there in Mid Aug. Thats why I needed to know where I could get such tickets( no expiration and park hopping also). Thanks

i will try later this week when i have more time to post the links for universal tickets that i am aware of.

have you searched at allears, mouseinfo, universal, mousesavers universal section and other sites yet?

I have tried mousesavers and the Universal web sites with no luck, I'll give the others a try also. Thanks

i just went to mousesavers site and you didn't like their prices?

i just copied it off and this is what is listed now:

5 day, 2 park pass adult $106.40
RIC: 7 day 2 park pass $104.95 adults/ $94.95 kids
universal ticket site(posted on mousesavers): 2 day 2 park pass $111.77
and for people with a master card, doesn't have to be the universal orlando one, buy 4 passes of 2 day/2 park and get a 5th identical pass free.

all those prices above include tax.

when you think that a one day park pass is over $63..........the above prices just on the mousesavers site are great values.

also if you are a member of mousesavers, you get the best discount when you purchase tickets thru ticketmania and one other broker.

i can check out other sites if you need more but those on mousesavers are good deals.

have you done a google search?

Hmm, I did rush thru the site and must have missed that, Ill go back later and check it out again. Thanks for the heads up. :)

when you get to the main page of mousesavers, look at the menu on the left hand column side.

scroll down to where it says, Other theme parks and attractions.

that is where you will find universal theme park. to there and read all the headlines.
you will get listings on many things but read the part of "tickets"
there you will fine the timeshare portion of RIC Community.com
you canbuy tickets from that link, no one has ever been asked for a special # before.
it also lists the promos...

at universal orlando.com site, click on tickets... there you will see costs that i mentioned previously. also, click on the master card logo on the bottom of the left side. it will link you to a special for free 5th ticket.

on mousesavers, to to ticket area for disney.
there is a special going on now for mousesaver members only. if you are linked to it, you are a member. that is if you clicked on the mousesavers page for being notified of specials and signing up for the mousesaver newsletter.
you will see that ticketmania and another broker will sell you universal tickets at a deeper discount. you have to call them and tell them you received the mousesaver newsletter to get the deal

these are the best, cheapest places right now for tickets. i can post here a few more sites with prices if you want though.

Thanks Macraven, can always use more info, always said that you can never get enough info for the best informed choices--tried to teach my kids that but they are not buying into it.
Meanwhile, I'll take my time and search for the sites U just mentioned. :hourglass

you're welcome...............when i have time later this week, i will post more info.
