Discounted Vegas show tickets?

Is there a website or place that sells discounted show tickets in Vegas? I'm going this year and would like to check out a couple of shows.

BTW - for anyone coming to Chicago you can purchase 1/2 price tickets at Hottix locations. Go to Hottix.org for a list. I know Blue Man Group, Tony&Tina's Wedding and the American Girl Theatre are a few. Not a bad price, but you do have to purchase tickets in person.

I know there are several locations on the strip, can't remember the name they are little booths that sell tickets for same day shows for 50% of cost

The ticket places on the strip don't usually sell tix for the big shows. I've been to Vegas about 15 times and have never seen discounted show tix. If you don't mind doing the "time share tour thing" you can get free show tix. The last time I saw one of those set ups they had tickets for any show in town.

Your best bet for reasonably priced tix is to attend some of the older shows. They are priced lower than the new ones.

My fav place to hang-out with entertainment is at The Bar At Time Square in the NY, Ny casino. All it will cost you is the price of a few drinks.

I agree...I've spent a lot of time in the past trying to find discount show tix in Vegas, and, for the newer shows, they really don't exist. However, if you are a high roller type, you can probably score some easily. Assuming you're more like me, the non-high-roller-type, I will say that I had a little luck checking out Ebay last time before I went. I ended up scoring some tix to older shows, but ones we wanted to see. They ended up coming from a company called Vegas4Locals.
If you don't plan in advance, there are the two day-of discount places...One is near the mall that's near Treasure Island. The other is on the other end of the strip near the M&M store. Again, if you want a show that's not too topical, you can save big-time. Otherwise, pick something you really want to see, and bite the bullet.

2 weeks ago, and DH and I did use Tickets4Less while there (it's the one right near M&M - in between mGM and Aladdin) - we got tickets for Dennis Miller for 1/2 price for that night.

Mostly though - if you want to see a big name, you won't find much of a discount - so buy ahead of time and prepare to spend A LOT (big name tickets that I've seen don't go less than $100 and some have their lowest tickets at $150!).

But, personally, I love these 1/2 price ticket places - you can see some real 'Vegas' type shows (impersonators (Neil Diamond, Frank Sinatara, etc.), comedy, and song and dance type shows for $25 - $40.

Check it out if you don't feel like spending a fortune. I like to save any of my extra cash for the roulette table!

I agree that you won't find the big shows at tickets 4 less by the MGM, but there are some good shows. I would splurge and buy the tickets ahead of time for one big show and then pick up some of the discounted tickets to some of the smaller shows. If memory serves my right it is that they do not have a contract with the one big casino enterprise (Mirage, TI). Good luck and have fun!!!!!!!

In town, there are 2 places: Tickets2Night and Tix4Tonight. They usually ahve most B level shows and very rarely have some of the A shows (usually ater 2 PM).

Also, go to goldstarevents.com and sign up using a las Vegas zip code. They have some shows. Not all are half price. Right now they have Mamma Mia at Mandalay Bay and The Scintas at the Sahara (I saw them last year at the Rio, and this was a good show!). Both of these are half-price on selected dates.

Don't laugh when I say this, the best show value in Vegas IMHO is Carrot Top. Got tix at the 1/2 price place by MGM for around $30 and it was the funniest show I've ever seen in Vegas. I was not a fan of his at all going into seeing him, but I laughed so hard my jaws hurt.

It was absolutely hysterical. He performs pretty much nightly at Luxor.

we also just got back from vegas like 2 weeks ago and we went to that tix4tonight and we were maybe the 20th in line to get carrott top tickets half price. well they only had one left so we couldnt get that and if they sold that one then they could have called to see if they were able to get anymore. the girl told me they only got 5 tickets for carrott top that night.

we called the luxor and got tickets no problem for full price

Thanks for all the informative responses. I'm not a high roller so no freebies for me. I may just do what someone suggested, go to a full-price show and maybe a half-price show.

On the Travel Channel yesterday they were showing a program on "O" that looks awesome. But I know I'd have to pay full price to see that one. Some of these shows are expensive over $100! Yikes!

I will say that all of the top-tier shows I've seen have been worth the exorbinant ticket price. I've always left feeling like I'd gotten my money's worth.

I did use one of the 1/2 price booths to get tickets to a smaller show. I did find that once I paid their fees I only saved about $7.

As another poster said, Lance Burton does a full-scale stage show at a pretty reasonable (for Vegas) price. Clint Holmes tickets can be gotten with 2-for-1 tickets in almost every tourist magazine.

Another great show value is The Comedy Stop at Tropicana. If you like stand-up they have three performers per night for $19.95, which includes a drink. The 8:00pm show is non-smoking. In the tourist magazines there's usually a coupon for $5 off on Wednesdays.

The other great value in Vegas is the Mac King Comedy Magic Show at Harrah's. They show at 1pm and 3pm and tickets are $18 per person. But, you can often get coupons to see the show "free" for the cost of one drink, which is about $8 (crazy, I know). Or, if you're not a member of their slot club, I've heard they've been offering free tickets for Mac King if you sign up.

The PP mentioned the tourist magazines. They are easy to find. Sometimes they are in your hotel room. They are a great source of coupons for shows/dinner/car rental. Also, join the slot clubs. You can in some places get into the restaurants with little or no wait by just showing your card. The comedy clubs are really cheap and fun. I agree that the Tropicana's is the cheapest on the strip. Another good source of info is to talk to people. Particularly the locals. Ask them were they go. We have found some real gems that way.
