So, I am due with a baby girl in March. After my 4th child, I donated all my baby stuff because I thought I was done having children. In August, I remarried and my husband and I are expecting our first child together. However, I have NO baby items. I have bought some clothes for her on clearance at Old Navy. But, I am wondering if there are websites or organizations that have free or discounted baby items to give to military families. Thank you in advance!

You didn't mention branch of service, but the Navy/Marine Corp Relief Society used to do Baby's First Sea Bag. It was a nice bag loaded with stuff for baby. You had to attend an hour long class, but it was well worth it.

Have you looked at thrift stores? Goodwill & salvation army always have nice baby stuff that does not cost much!

He is in the Army. I haven't checked thrift shops yet, but have checked Craigslist a bit. Also listed on my Facebook page so hopefully some friends have some stuff. I wish that I had kept my larger baby items, but I really did think I was done with having babies. Thank you for your ideas.

What type of things are you looking for? I also see that you are in NH, I know my area is limited in the thrift stores.

I really don't think that you will find many cribs as they just recalled all drop side cribs. Other than the crib, you can find several pieces at the thrift shops, especially check out the one on your base as many people send items there when they PCS.

The baby catalog offers their membership club free to military families. It's 10% off every order I think. I remember years ago buying a carseat. http://www.babycatalog.com/

I don't know of any military base in NH but if there is one, check the post thrift shop. When people are moving they donate so much there and it's often very cheap. I don't know of any organizations that give things away in general though.

I'm an Army wife and I wish you were closer (i'm at Ft Knox Ky) I have TONS of baby stuff I need to get rid of. I give mine to a place on base called Helping Hands, maybe there is one near you or something like it on your base? It is a no question asked place you can go and take what you need. Also , check out bookoo.com. Its like craigslist, but it is on military Posts/bases.

Thank you everyone for your ideas! I completely appreciate them. I just found out that my mom is actually having a baby shower for me in February!! I am so happy!! =)

awww,thanks Gibsontrio!! :)

Check on base. Families leave things all the time when they move, from furniture, appliances to clothes.

My children are 5 years apart, different genders. 2nd baby showers around here don't go over very well. I purchased a lot of my things from consignment stores. My immediate family and close friends also gave me some things. Good luck! I see you are having a shower. I would wait until then and they hit the consignment stores.

yes, after the baby shower, I will assess what I have and go from there...thank you. =)

Is there some sort of base bulletin board where people place ads to buy and sell things? I would also just start letting people know that you are looking. You have until March to find all the needed items. Another place to look for ads for used baby items is at a local daycare.
