Discounted AP date changed?

what's interesting is that the vouchers I bought with this promotion show up in my MDE as expiring 2030. I bought one for myself b/c I'll be going twice during 2018. After I noticed the expiration date was 2030 in the system, I went ahead and bought 3 more for the rest of my family (they show a 2030 expiration date as well). Might be playing with fire -- but I'm hoping their computer systems don't recognize the difference, and presumably, if I don't activate those for another few years, I'd be willing to bet the CM that activates them won't have any way of knowing that they were from this deal.

Worst case scenario is that I just pay the difference between these tickets and whatever AP I am getting at the time...so I felt it was worth the risk.

The dollar value that you paid is good through 2030. The Platinum Plus deal is good through most of 2018.

It wasn't Ken Potrock, it was Shannon Sakaske, Vice President Member Experiences. DVC should have the "guts" to put out something, they know he said it in front of 1,000 people plus it was blogged out to thousands more. Not just ignore it, admit it was an error.
Deb...I think you are 100% correct....they will not retract because they are trying to collect as much $$$ in this fiscal year....we have been burned by so many sobering "unannounced" promotions lately. We paid full price for the current discounted deal 2 days before it was announced. We activated one day and they would not give us a refund on the price. Boo Hoo WDW IMHO I bet they will extend it, in February....lots of renewals in March-June

I know that is what is supposed to happen -- I'm just wondering what will actually happen when I go to activate them in 3 years. There's no indication on the voucher in my MDE that it goes bad after 12/31/18. If you buy regular park tickets right now, they are showing an expiration date of 12/31/18. For some reason, AP vouchers (of any kind) are all showing the same 2030 expiration date.

I think I've read somewhere that AP's are issued with specific codes attached to them. So I'd guess that the code that matches these AP's is one that prevents activation after 12/31/18. Just a guess though.

As with all things Disney, it is worth a try.

The entire meeting was live streamed on the Disney Neighbourhood Facebook group, and the recording posted on there. You can probably still find it now. I recall when I watched it, it was unclear enough to me, that I thought it was another misspoke incident and I thought at the time some people may misinterpret it (a bit like the latest daily trash email, some people are thinking it also means housekeeping is changing as it isn’t worded very well.)
