I could be mistaken, but my understanding is the discounts cards aren't for renewels or upgrades, just new AP's.

Upgrading to an AP is possible. It has to be a new, active AP, and an upgrade fits that bill. It just can't be for a renewal or a voucher.

If you are going to definitely upgrade, you should get the 4 day NE ticket(get 7) for the best value. Use the pass once, then upgrade. You will receive the value of the 7 day NE (about 100) The price difference between a regular 4/7 day is only about $9. If you need a 10% coupon, I do have 1 left.

I still have some of the AP discount cards available. If anyone needs one please let me know and I'll share. They are GOOD for the DVC APs too. With this discount card the DVC APs are $332 plus tax adult and $293 plus tax for kids for the regular APs. This is an excellent deal. These are only for new APs purchased at WDW from May 1 to July 31. THey can also be applied for a refund if you purchased your AP within this timeframe at WDW (no renewal or online).
