Just wondering if they ever have any discount codes for the Fort? I know that with tent camping the price per night is pretty cheap but just wondering if they do:surfweb: .

You can usually get a AAA rate, and they have Annual Passholder rates, but I've always found the AAA rate to be the best deal.

Just repeating what Carol said, AAA is up to 20%.

It's also definitely worth knowing what season it is. Value season costs about 1/2 what holiday season (Christmas and Easter) costs. And the AAA discounts are best in the cheaper times!

(Sites like mousesavers have the seasons and rates)

I booked my trip thru WDW adn have paid alomost 500 on it can i still get the AAA rates I am a member of AAA mu car and home insurane is thru them

Simple answer, yes.

Kind of.

As I mentioned, AAA discounts vary with the time of year. They also aren't automatic. They are released in blocks. Just call reservations and ask if there's a AAA discount available. Catch is, there may not be tomorrow, but there may be next week. Kind of like getting reservations all over again. Really good agents can help you out with a better answer than "yes" or "no", but that's all you get from most.

When are your reservations for? Maybe someone has a similar reservation and got a AAA discount and could tell how much it is. The 20% is definitely worth a few calls. 10% may not be. I can tell you I got 20% for October reservations in 2006, 2007, and 2009. (Yeah, we're not there this year.)

Oh yeah, some agents will ask for your AAA membership number. I don't think they actually cross check it or anything, just write it down. Have a number ready for them.

When Disney releases "general public" discount codes, sometimes they're also available with the campsites. Free Dining is never available with campsites, but I've been able to get some of the other discounts for my clients. :goodvibes

Definitely check out the AAA rate. I just booked a trip for 6 nights this November (last minute, huh?) at a Premium Site for a total of $367.20 :cool1:

I have used discount codes every time I've stayed in the cabins and I know they have them for the campsites as well. If you ever get a postcard or see a code available to the public just call up and explain that you are interested in the promotion however you would prefer Fort Wilderness to the advertised resort. In almost every case in the past I have been offered a similar percentage-wise discount at the Fort. Mind you these are not usually prime seasons but then they don't usually send postcards for those times anyhow.

Good luck,

John

The AAA discount can be applied to any reservation, if it's available. No need to cancel and re-book, they'll just apply the discount as a credit to your credit card. The discount is 20% during Value season and, I believe, 15% during the other seasons.

We just changed ours to a week later than what we had planned. While I was changing, I asked about the "Neighbors Rate" for those who live in AL, GA, NC, and SC. It saved me $10 per night on a pop up/tent site-that's a 20% discount....better than nothing :thumbsup2

That is great!:thumbsup2 I wish they would include VA in that one.

I tried to get the good neighbor discount applied to our Nov reservations but they told me they can't since I booked online. Has anyone had luck in getting this applied that booked online?

I have already paid for my trip in full. I called WD VACA. back they told me I could not use my AAA because I bought a package. Wish I knew this before, I woud have purchased everthing seperately.

I put the campsites in for the new AP discount and it said that none were available for this offer. I did it this morning.

I would call and make a reservation using the good neighbor rate and once I had the new reservation confirmed, I would just cancel the old one!

If you've already pre-paid everything, I don't know how it would work but I would call again and ask as well as bringing it up at check in. Good Luck!
