"ZIP A DEE DOO DAH... ZIP A DEE AAY... MAH OH MAH WHAT A WUNDERFUL DAY..."
Oh, Hello! Back for part 6? GREAT... I have just been stopping to smell the flowers along the way! You know how some mornings are just such a GFG (gift from God) that you can't stop smiling? This was THAT kind of day! A Feel Good, Get your feet moving, wanna dance kinda day! In hindsight I should have played the Lottery! Walking back up Sunset Blvd. I stroll towards the great big Sorcerer's hat just as the CHARACTERS ARE COMING OUT!
Once again, this day.... well you know! CGAB! LOL!No lines, no waiting, ZIP! I never considered myself a character autograph seeker until recently. I was always one of those parents who tried to talk their kids OUT of waiting in line for an autograph! LOL! Now here I am jumping up and down to get one (or 2 or 3!) I am losing the line between being a secret agent playing a tourist and actually being a tourist today! I befriend the CM who is "guarding" the characters... you know the one everyone blames when he says "Sorry folks, if you'll continue to wait in line...Snow White needs a break and will be back in 2 hrs." He is the one who keeps showing up to take my picture with all of the characters.
H'mm looks like he's been observing me.. I must be TOO obvious without a small child in tow for character worship!! Maybe THAT is why people keep jumping in front of me thinking "She can't possibly be waiting for an autograph"!
Cruella wants to know why her pin is NOT on my lanyard? I respond.. "Dahling, with all those diamonds? It's MUCH too valuable to risk losing!
I think those muscles are real girls! LOL! Are my cheeks red?
WEELLLLLLLLLL.... what to do, what to do? It is almost 10:25 am and time for the first showing of "Who Wants to be A Millionaire Play It!" so I walk in and find a seat. I start chatting with the family next to me (as usual) and before you know it...it's time to start. Everyone was asked to fill in all the seats, so I had to move over one seat, apologizing to the man next to me... "Sorry, Sir... I guess it's a rule. I don't KNOW why I can't stay sitting where I was, especially since no one came and sat down next to me!"
It is time for the first "Fastest Finger" question and when the lights come on my "broken finger" just whips out with a mind of its own and presses " C-B-A-D " I have no CLUE why it did that and don't even know what the question was. I am still laughing and talking to the family next to me when they announce the winner of the HOT SEAT is seat #274! I am looking left and right along with everyone else when my face (larger than life) comes up on all the screens!
OMG! OMG! I am seat #274???? I am now jumping up and down... this can't be happening to ME! I have ALWAYS wanted to be in the HOT SEAT! But I have more of a "Wait and Think" kind of finger than a fastest finger and never imagined it would happen to me...!
I continue the Happy dance down the stairs to the Hot Seat and gracefully try to "hop" into the chair. There is no other way really to get in...! LOL! Well there I was... right across from Algia and ALL those people! I could not look at her or the audience or the big screens with my face all over them! All the while I am thinking, "I am dreaming... this can't be real. Give yourself an atomic pinch~ Well, wait and see if you win the cruise first! Then you can wake up! LOL! I had been staring at the screen right in front of me and suddenly I heard "Are you ready to play?" I don't think they wanted to hear "NO WAIT STOP!" so my finger that got me into this gives my thumb a nudge and I give Algia a smiling "thumbs up"! Talk about nervous! Here I was a Secret Agent playing a Tourist and I had to stay incognito in front of everyone! Could I do it? I had to try...
Well, you know the part when they tell you about how it is "different" when you are sitting in the Hot SEAT? Yeah, Yeah sure the questions are all the same no matter where you are sitting.. WRONG! The questions are all HARDER! LOL!
The first tier of questions from 100 pts. to 1000 pts. are supposed to be the easiest to answer. If you reach the 1000 pt. question and answer correctly you receive 5 Limited Edition Pins (100, 200, 300, 500, 1000) and a 1000 pt. Winner Ball Cap (all very nice, indeed!) With the exception of the 100 pt. question... these were NOT cake walk questions! I was starting to SWEAT! I did not get one single secret agent question!
The next tier of questions from 2000 pts to 32,000 pts are a bit harder! This time you keep your original prizes plus, add 5 more pins and a 32,000 pt winner Polo shirt! WOW! I wanted that matching polo shirt unlike anything I've wanted in a long time! Secret Agent questions or no... I still have 3 life-lines so, I think I can make it! I do pretty well and the audience is with me... because I am trying to answer the questions as fast as I can... no pretend "thinking" cause either you know it or you don't! I stumble on an italian language question... I think "journale" means newspaper, but they throw in "library" as a distractor... I simply MUST reach the 32,000 pt level... so I use my 50/50 lifeline to narrow down the list and YAY got it right!
Wow! I now have a 10 pin collection, hat, and matching polo shirt! I am in a FOG! I'm sure I was wearing the "stupid smile"...
but at that point I did not care! I had reached my goal! When she asks me if I'm ready to go on I lean over to my microphone and say "Let's Play, Algia!"
I have 2 lifelines left and I make it all the way to the $125,000 question. I am on Air... when you hear "ONLY 3 MORE QUESTIONS UNTIL YOU WIN THE CRUISE"....AND you have 2 Life Lines left, you're thinking... this is POSSIBLE! About now reality sets in... I get the question that NO ONE KNOWS THE ANSWER TO!! (No, NOT what is the meaning of life?I could have answered that one! LOL!) The question that beat me? Who was the first winner of the Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta National in 1931? WAAAAHHH?? I had to ask the audience hoping there would be a few older duffers out there. The Life Line for "Phone a Complete Stranger" seemed a bit iffy. That would rely on the Sports Trivia knowledge of one person. They seemed to think "B" was a good choice, so with a 90% accuracy rating or something like that.. I went with the audience! (First I asked Algia, if I get to keep the hat and the shirt if I was wrong! LOL!) I mean COME ON! I wasn't stopping now. Even though I was risking my 64,000 pt PIN for the chance at a CRUISE! I HAD to GO FOR IT! So like my motto for the day, JUST DO IT! I say... "B" FINAL ANSWER! Well for me... it is the FINAL ANSWER LOL! Unfortunately my audience was in the 10% bracket! For everyone who might like to know who won the First Master's Golf tournament back in the 1930's.... it was
HORTON SMITH!!! (Who the heck??)
If you ask me who the other choices were I could not tell you.. and everyone I've asked since then either doesn't know or answers "Was it Bobby Jones?" LOL! So now I know... and will never forget Horton Smith, the Master of the Short game back in the 30's!) Yeah, I had to look him up on the internet when I got home to be sure!! LOL!
