What kind of embroidery machine would you need to be able to use their design? I am assuming that the sewing machine needs to be able to connect to the PC using a cable of some sort? I have a brother sewing/embroidery machine combo but it doesn't connect to the computer.
Okay if you do not have a USB port on your machine (mine does't) you need to have a Brother PED Basic card conveter. Check your local walmart to see if they have any left in the store (they had them clearanced for $64.00. if not you can purchase it on their website for about $130. They are the BEST investment when you have an embroidery machine as you can purchase designs or get free designs from the internet or off CDs at a fraction of the cost of the embroidery cards you put directly into your machine. I stopped buying those expensive ones a few years ago when I purchased my PED Basic. At the time they were way more expensive but even so I have gotten way more than my $$$s worth. Since I have one I purchased the PE700 which doesn't have the USB port (saving myself about $150)

Steph- Puddle jumpers come in all sizes. Check puddlejumpershoes.com.

Castlelight- I would be more than happy to sell this for $835. Let me know if there are any takers. LOL :rotfl: :worship:

Flea- I have a bunch of smocked Disney dresses. I am such a sucker for them. I have a couple different Cinderella’s, Alice, Tink, Mary Poppins (older girl version too,) The Little Mermaid, and Snow White. My girls were a lot of smocked dresses.

I CANNOT believe that outfit went for that much. That was crazy! I didn't even really see what was soooo special about it. I have seen way better things on here from all of you!!!!!!!!!

I like to watch vintage disney fabric. I wanted this yard of satin Mulan fabric, it went for over $300.

OOOOH! I will have to check that out - thanks for the tip! I got a PE-700II for Christmas, and I am having so much fun with it!

Hmm..maybe I should try a Farbenmix pattern...or are those more for advanced sewers? Love the Laguna skirt that someone made, but the follow along instructions that someone posted scare me!

I don't think they are for advanced sewers but definetly not for beg.

Thanks, I've since found their website and drooled over the cute shoes. I am trying to justify them, especially when I just said how hard she is on her shoes!

Happy Valentine's Day (a little early) Everyone! :lovestruc

DD9 went with a friend to the HM 3-D movie. She was asked two days before so all we came up with is a Walmarshy t-shirt!!!   Well she had a blast and due to ice storm didn't get back until close to 10:30 pm. However we got a pic of her excitement and tickets in hand upon her safe return home!!!

Love the outfits posted today...such amazing stuff. Worth at least double the $700 :wizard: custom. I can't get over that... You gals and Tom are terrific!!! :cheer2:

I'm totally behind but I finally looked up the $$$ outfit on :wizard: ....
I just can't even begin to think about spending that kind of money on a child's outfit...who will grow out of it in about 5 minutes, if it hasn't been stained or torn or something else before that. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to spend money on pretty much anything and everything, but, still! It would be nice to have the ability to make that kind of money on ONE outfit, WOW!
I could see spending it on an outfit or two I've seen on the disboards though, honestly!!! You guys are way too talented!!! :dance3:

I want to see it too.... Please someone PM me.

We have done COA here is Ohio as well. We will be going to COA later this month I believe. That is not my favorite cheer company. We LOVE Jamfest! We were at Midwest Nationals a few weeks ago and took first and grand champion. We are youth level 4.

COA is not my fave either. But, being a coach I do have my likes and dislikes. They are just ok for me. Congrats on the Grand Champs! That is awesome!!

I'm leaving tomorrow for Disney! Whoohoo! I can't wait, especially after all of the snow/ice we've had here the last few days.

Here's what I've been working on for our trip.

Blankets for the stroller.

Mickey for DS2. I took a picture of Mickey and traced his sillouette for an applique. Then appliqued it onto both sides of the blanket. One side is the applique and the other is just the black thread. Make sense?

Side with Applique:

Side with thread:

Ariel for DD4. I used a pillowcase and appliqued around it. Again, the back is only the thread part.

Princesses for DD5 (6 next week!). Cinderella pillowcase.

Stephres..... not yelling at ya, just saw that you said the Tampa area is nice, my bff lives in Seffner. We go over there every year when we go to Disney.

Here are the dresses I completed for our trip.

DD5 picked Aurora for her dress:

DD4 chose Tinker Bell:
DSC07609.jpg

And this is for DN2, Tinker Bell as well (the other side of the pillowcase):
DSC07608.jpg

I wanted to make DN a Tinker Bell blanket as well, but ran out of time. :sad1: I have the material and the pillowcase. It just takes so long to sew the applique on.

They all look short and fat on the hangers. I don't know why. I hope to post pics of them wearing the dresses when we get back.

I'm also taking most of the customs I've posted on here (and on the other thread) in the past.

these are some really cute blankets and I love the customs that you did.

Question????

On the pillowcase appliques what are ya'll using to bond the picture to the fabric?? I am using Heat n Bond and I can't do any work on the inside part of the applique because my machine keeps messing up.

TIA,
Crystal

Here's what I worked on over the weekend and finished today. The jumper is for a friend of DD's who is having a birthday party this weekend. They are heading to WDW in 2 weeks. The t-shirt is for her sister so they can coordinate for the trip.

th_PICT0029-1.jpg

Cute- And so nice of you to think of the sister too!!

Disney_4_me- The blankets and outfits are super!! Have a great trip!!

Tink_belle- Did you use heat n' bond lite or ultra? You should be using the lite if you are appliqueing around the edges and ultra if you just want to puffy paint the edges. Correct me if I'm wrong ladies & tom.

No sewing today, but I made my first attempt at a bow.

I put the bow on a clippie-(which I found at sallys- Thanks everyone) I wrapped the top in ribbon. And I put hot glue on the inside to make it none slip. I held it open til it cooled. It didn't take to long-it was low temp. glue

what a great job ! and thanks for the tip on the non slip.

Good Morning!

School is on a two hour delay, so I thought I would take a few pictures of my latest creation.

This is made out of the pillowcase from KMart. Made with the Farbenmix "Vida" pattern.

I love that how cute

Ok, curiousity killed the cat, and I want to know the item number too!!! :worship:

Here's one of the things that Nana brought for the girls for Valentine's Day. Isn't it cute?!?!? We took the girls to MK on Sunday.

that is adorable i love the peek a boo skirt.

Here is another one that I have been working on for Spring.

Can you tell I was in a pink and green kind of mood lately?
At least it is not all WHITE!;)

Thanks for all the comments!:goodvibes

Sometimes I look at things and all I see are the "imperfections". I need to get over that I know!
that is way cute ! i love the colors i want it to be spring !!

I'm in a lime green and pink mood too. Where does one find Farbenmix patterns? Edited to add: I googled and am In-The-Know now. Did you actually trace the pattern?

Both of your dresses are so cute!

Have y'all seen the scented pillowcases at Walmart? A scratch and sniff dress in the making?
what ? scented pillowcases!:scared1:

I can't believe that someone was willing to pay that much for one outfit that will only be worn once or twice and then what resold for less than it was paid for. Some people have more money than sense. IMO the outfits made on this thread are far better than that one.

This is adorable. I might CASE this. I got the material to add to a dress for DD but she later decided that she didn't want the dress altogether so I like your idea and just might CASE it.
i second that

When ever I go to Wal-Mart and buy fabric the ladies that are there always chat and ask "what are you making?" When I made the book panel skirt I told her that I was a making a skirt out of the panel the lady just kind of looked at me funny and another time when I said that I was going to be appliqueing a picture off of a pillowcase onto a dress again I got that same funny look. Anyways it got me wondering does anybody else get those strange looks from people when you tell them what an outfit is made of?
You know there are good ones and bad ones but i am always being told to bring in photos of my stuff and hang them up But i am not that good YET (it's mostly my BF from High School Mom)

I adjusted the straps on dd's Mary Poppins dress and finally tried it on. I think it is my favorite!!! I hope you can see the necklace with the blue Mickey shaped beads. It is for fantasmic but the colors work!!! DD is also sporting the new puddle jumpers. They are fantastic!!!

Here is the applique again because you really could not see it in the pics. :)

Here is my younger DD's dress. It was made by Amanda Remembered.
