And then this is our coloring book page. We usually make a small coloring book for Kirsta's Bday parties.

How do you do the coloring page? so neat

Hi Everyone,

i haven't had chance to post in this new thread yet, have been so busy lately. i have been checking in every couple of days to see what everyone has created. Everything has been fabulous!

Here is what i have been working on for Ashlia. Its a face form the pillowcase i posted on the last thread that also had belle smelling the rose. Its not finished yet because i wanted to ask everyones opinion. Here are my options-

1. hem the bottom of the Aurora top without a ruffle
2. Add a musk pink ruffle to the bottom of the Aurora top to match the straps and skirt ruffle
3. Add a rose print ruffle to the bottom of the aurora top to match the ruffle up the top but then not match the skirt.

What does everyone think? I am leaning towards option 2 so it ties in well with the skirt.

I really wished i had but a rose print ruffle along the demin skirt, but i done musk pink at the time because i never planned to use the rose print on this outfit at all, it was brought for a belle outfit, but i changed my mind and i really don't want to do the skirt again because it took a while to do the embroidery and then make the skirt and add the ruffle by hand.

This is gorgeous and so is your daughter! I vote for the rose ruffle and add a rose ruffle under the pink one on the skirt, but whatever you do will look great.

okay, I'm frustrated :headache: I think my computer has a virus or something. That, or it is posessed. It is really freaking out. I have a couple of things I have made and taken pictures of, but can't post them. I will have to figure out how to get pictures onto my dh's computer. I want a new computer! I found a super simple pattern for an a-line top or dress that is slipover, not even shoulder buttons. I literally whipped it up in 10 minutes except for the bias tape around the neck and arm holes. I need to go buy some. It is a little big on Lily, but she loves it. I used my Ariel pillowcase (one side of it anyway). I also made a cupcake skirt for Lily to match a cute sweater she has. I figured I'd better get it made before it is too warm to wear a sweater! It was my first attempt at piecing together an applique (okay, it's still pretty simple, but I feel like I'm progressing).

Note to self....
Do not eat Vanilla pudding for dinner...too much sugar, and
Now I can't sleep, and I'm watching weird videos on Youtube, and buying fabric that I really don't need on :wizard:

You can do it in photoshop if your computer is not posessed by a weird virus.

thanks - I have photoshop but I don't think I would have ever thought of that. Is it one of the filters under edit? Can you tell me which?

So I think the flower is too big, but do you think if I made a smaller one that it would look good there? This is a size 3. I don't usually make stuff that small and I think I forgot how little it would end up being when I cut out the daisy.

Someone asked me to make a dress like this and I was trying to think of something "special" to add to it to make it my own.

I like the idea of the solid pink ruffle and maybe have the rose fabric peeking under the skirt ruffle. But something else you could do as well....if the ruffle will cover up your Princess embroidery, why don't you make some bias tape out of the pink fabric and just use that around the bottom. That way your top, middle and bottom will all match. Just a thought.

Heres a quick photo of ashlia. Its a little big on her because i made it without a pattern. she seems to like it and keeps repeating "you made this for me' over and over.

This is SUPER CUTE!!! But, I think that the flower may be a tad too big. My DD is 3 and it looks like it would really cover her. I do love the idea of it though -- gotta remember this flower!

Yeah, I knew when I stuck it on there that it was a little overwhelming!

I want it to be big and tacky (in that good way that we all like!:rotfl: ), but not rediculous!

Thanks for the input.

I really like this! This is one of the prettiest "pillow" appliques that has been shown. I think it's all pink and matchy and whatever you do will look like a set. Good work.

I think the flower would look cute off centered at the waistline. I like the idea, but it is overpowering at the neck.

Is this a skirt or a top?

It's actually a tube dress. It's squeezed pretty tight on my dress form and it's looking like a top (which I think I like!), but it actually would hit at the bottom of the knee.

I actually like the flower. hehe I might be the only one who likes it that large and in charge. haha

What if you did three smaller flower? and used the big flower for a matching headband?

That's a good idea too!

I am gonna make a smaller one tomorrow and see if that helps. Maybe I'll keep this daisy just in case a plus size woman asks me to make the dress in her size! I think this size daisy is gonna take a pretty big dress to look in proportion! Maybe someone with much more confidence than me will want to wear it! Sometimes I just let my brain wander. I don't know who I thought was going to wear this!

I kinda like that..... "large and in charge"! It puts a positive spin on my giant flower!

How big is the flower anyway?
