thanks - I have photoshop but I don't think I would have ever thought of that. Is it one of the filters under edit? Can you tell me which?

Not sure, I would go into photoshop and find it but DH did not even try to fix my computer last night :headache: Just wait till I figure out how to get all of my photos onto his computer! He'll be sorry then.

So I think the flower is too big, but do you think if I made a smaller one that it would look good there? This is a size 3. I don't usually make stuff that small and I think I forgot how little it would end up being when I cut out the daisy.

Someone asked me to make a dress like this and I was trying to think of something "special" to add to it to make it my own.

I really love this, ESPECIALLY the big flower! If you change it at all, just make the flower a little smaller and leave it where it is!

Oh my gosh, she is a cutie! That little girl is going to break some hearts....:lovestruc
That skirt just amazes me...it seems way too hard for my little skill level...and I just love that fabric!

Yes, she will break a lot of hearts, because SHE IS ENGAGED TO LUKE!

OH MY GOSH....bad Mom...bad Mom...bad Mom....
Seli's team took FIRST place at Nationals this weekend!
WOO HOO! Go DEVILS!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I've been getting so nostalgic over all the Mulan pictures! She's my FAVORITE! We would always see her in MGM by the Great Movie Ride (another favorite of mine...don't know why, just love that ride!) and I just LOVE her! I've got some great pics w/her and Seli when she was just tiny...maybe 3 or 4...:sad1: My baby is growing up...ugh! Goes by way too fast! Now she's 12 going on 17 and she's almost as tall as me.... Okay, I'll stop... I'll just say again, it goes way too fast!!!!

Yay SELIA!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I remember when that babe was born :scared:

Jham - Jeanne THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I received my Minnie head panel yesterday. I love it! And so do both of my girls. Do you think I can cut it in half and make something for both of them? :lmao:
You are welcome. You could make a pillow for them to share :confused3

And FLEA, love your baby model! She is so cute!

I will share my pictures of my dd and Mulan from our last trip as well. As you can see, no customs during our last trip....what was I thinking??? LOL

Here's Mulan coloring with dd:
Picture260.jpg

What a lucky little girl. Where did you have the opportunity to color with Mulan? We couldn't even find her last trip! :rotfl2:

Note to self....
Do not eat Vanilla pudding for dinner...too much sugar, and
Now I can't sleep, and I'm watching weird videos on Youtube, and buying fabric that I really don't need on :wizard:

 So, what did you buy and what were you watching???

okay, I'm frustrated :headache: I think my computer has a virus or something. That, or it is posessed. It is really freaking out. I have a couple of things I have made and taken pictures of, but can't post them. I will have to figure out how to get pictures onto my dh's computer. I want a new computer! I found a super simple pattern for an a-line top or dress that is slipover, not even shoulder buttons. I literally whipped it up in 10 minutes except for the bias tape around the neck and arm holes. I need to go buy some. It is a little big on Lily, but she loves it. I used my Ariel pillowcase (one side of it anyway). I also made a cupcake skirt for Lily to match a cute sweater she has. I figured I'd better get it made before it is too warm to wear a sweater! It was my first attempt at piecing together an applique (okay, it's still pretty simple, but I feel like I'm progressing).

OOOH, I can't wait to see what you've made!!!

That is so cute!!! The flower looks great, but I guess it might be big on a wee little 3 year old (sorry, I just had an urge to use the word wee!!!) Iagree with the others, just make it a little smaller and leave it where it is.

Yay for your wee model :) she looks so cute :cutie: . I like the words on the tshirt too - and if you figure out how to do bubbles that would rock :)

Here is my www.popit.co.nz my "model" is the baby standing up in the bluey diaper :rolleyes1 :)

I thought I pressed multiquote - anyway Mytwotinks I really like the Big flower but I'm a very in your face person lol :) But I like the suggestion of it being on the hip :) And look at your pattern and fabric collection

Awww, she looks so cute!!

Yeah Seli!!!!

Are you going to share your Mulan pictures? I'd love to see them! I just love Mulan!

Late night :wizard: shopping is how I found the cutest Cinderella fabric that I have ever seen. I have never seen any like it before I bought or since I bought it.
OOOHH I want to see :yay: I want to see! :yay:

Well, I am killing time, our school was put on a two hour delay, and I am crossing my fingers for a snow day!:lmao: I am as bad as the students! I can't help it, you gotta love a snow day!:goodvibes

My kids had a snow day yesterday. I just love snow days! Unfortunately, they only scheduled three snow days this year and they've now used 4, so there will be make up days at the end of the year. We usually don't have any or just have one snow day. They send the kids to school no matter what in our school disctrict! Every other school in th region could be closed, but ours wouldn't be! So, this has been an unusual year!

This is the best picture! It's so sweet it brings tears to my eyes.

Awww, thanks, I love it too! It captures the moment so beautifully!
I am really excited about the big President's Day sale that JoAnn is having. I went in and picked my things out already. Soooo cool. I wish I would hurry up and get my preferred and discount card stuff in the mail.

OOH, what kind of sale are they having? What preferred and discount card stuff are you waiting for? I get the adds, but is there something else too?

Yes, she will break a lot of hearts, because SHE IS ENGAGED TO LUKE!!

Heather and I were talking about that the other day. You are going to miss him when they move to Michgan! ;) Luke's future Uncle loves to fish, he keeps his on a chain too!

We are the Hojoki clan we thought of that one day while we were ordering pizza, it's a combo of our names. ;) I'm sure Brian would be all for moving to Utah though! It sure is pretty out there. Plus you have that cool loin cloth restaurant!!! But, Michigan is really pretty too!!! And, we have Michigan's Adventure!!! (amusment park) We could all just move to Florida though. :rotfl:

How old is Seth? I'm thinking double wedding, Arminda's 9. ;)

They have a teacher discount card. I think it is 10% or something like that. Because I home school Kaedyn (Pre-K/K), I qualify.

The sale: Tons of stuff, but here are some of the things I am looking foward to:

99 cent fat quarters
50% off red tag fabrics
6 for 96 cents scrapbook paper (open stock)
50% off all fiscars sewing and quilting tools
5 for $5 simplicity patterns
50% off interfacing by the yard
50% off thread

Plus, in store they have a 10% off your entire purchase coupon good for even sale items.

Okay, it's nothing like Disney :lmao: we may just have to move to Florida :rotfl:

I'm making a list for that sale too! I'm going out of town for a week-end with some girlfriends and I'll even be able to hit a nicer, larger JoAnn's than we have here. I can't wait!

Fat Quarter, what do you guys use them for? STrip work? If so, how many would it take to make a skirt? I saw some I liked, and wasn't sure how many to buy?????

I am going to have to check into that teacher discount card! :teacher: That sale sounds like a good one, now if only payday will come..............:rotfl:

I am still have yet to make anything with my sewing machine :) I was thinking they would make good applique material and stuff like that. I bet they would work for stripwork too.

i love fat quarters Only because i can give them to Mayson when i am sewing and he pretends to iron them instead of using the actual fabric i am using...:rotfl:
no but you can use them for so much , i mostly think of them as pre-made pockets.. but i never thought of appliques:idea:

Jham i have not been to Lagoon for about 9 yrs wow just by the pictures it has changed a whole lot i think i may have to check it out this summer:thumbsup2

I finished my outfit for DD so when she gets home i will have her model it ...

Now off to start Camden's B-day outfit for his 5th b-day on sunday

I use the fat quarters for stripwork and patches- my dd is little so it doesn't take very many for me. I think three of the prints I used for the pink and purple jumper were fat quarters and I still had enough left over to make a patchwork skirt!! I did used some other fabrics that were not fat quaters. Then I had big enough pieces for the ruffles.
I am going to check out that sales ad right now!!!

I just noticed-
I am a VETERAN!!!
:woohoo: :yay:    :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:

Okay, since all of you are so creative I figured I would ask you for some suggestions. My little girl is turning 4 next month and is having her party at a local gymnastics place. She just started taking lessons and is absolutely IN LOVE with it. She won't stop talking about it!! (It is so cute to watch her...anyway...lol)

I want her to have something cute to wear to the party but it has to be rather simple and easy to move around in since they will be doing gymnastics. Any ideas?? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!!!

(PS...my daughter is here and she wanted to send you some smilies so here are the ones she picked. Hahahaha
:happytv: :confused3 pirate:

I am two days back so you might already have a good idea for this...but you could have her wear a leotard thing and make a cute twirl skirt to go over it that she could easily remove for the gymnastics part of the party.

Hi Everyone,

i haven't had chance to post in this new thread yet, have been so busy lately. i have been checking in every couple of days to see what everyone has created. Everything has been fabulous!

Here is what i have been working on for Ashlia. Its a face form the pillowcase i posted on the last thread that also had belle smelling the rose. Its not finished yet because i wanted to ask everyones opinion. Here are my options-

1. hem the bottom of the Aurora top without a ruffle
2. Add a musk pink ruffle to the bottom of the Aurora top to match the straps and skirt ruffle
3. Add a rose print ruffle to the bottom of the aurora top to match the ruffle up the top but then not match the skirt.

What does everyone think? I am leaning towards option 2 so it ties in well with the skirt.

I really wished i had but a rose print ruffle along the demin skirt, but i done musk pink at the time because i never planned to use the rose print on this outfit at all, it was brought for a belle outfit, but i changed my mind and i really don't want to do the skirt again because it took a while to do the embroidery and then make the skirt and add the ruffle by hand.

Oh, my. Thats so pretty. I would do the rose ruffle. I'de love directions how to make that shirt. Of course Im too scared to shirr, so I would use just regular elastic. Can't wait to see the compled outfit

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I wanted to sew while Georgia was on her playdate, but instead I have the friend come to me and say "Kelly, there are ants on Georgia's chair" I am thinking a few, one or two.. since the weather has been cold and rainy lately (thankfully not today) they are coming in to finda nice spot.

WRONG!!!

There were like 100!! Some were climbing up the wall, on her rain jacket, they were gathered by the foot of her bed on the ground. YUCK. so I got the spray, and sent the girls outside.

I HATE ANTS! I just spend 40 minutes cleaning up her room and searching...

EEEWWW!!!!!!

I'm with you on the ants. We've had a horrible time with ants since we moved into this house. It took over a year to get them consistently OUT of the house & we still get a couple in the bathrooms. When dh pulled the ivy off the end wall outside, it literally RAINED ants on him. :scared1: I would've died!

I love FQ'S. I buy them all the time for appliques. You know when you only need a little of a color! I also use them for strip work skirts. The are 18 x 22 inches so you can plan accordingly. I did most of the little Mary Mouse outfit out of FQ's. I think there are a lot of fun fabrics you can choose from.

I am also going to take advantage of the thread sale. I buy embrodiary thread for appliques so the 50% off is great. I am also going to hit up the crystal aisle since they are 40% off. bling bling!!!

OOOHHH, this is really cute. My DD would love a dress like this. Did you use a pattern or wing it? I would love to know how you did it, it doesn't look too hard but a little guidance would be great. I too think a daisy on the hip might look cute.

The question of gathering two skirt together was brought up yesterday. I made a quick little vday skirt for my DD.

I gather the two layers together. First I pin the layers. Then I serge the two layers together. Next I baste the layers with a long machine basting stitch. I pull the bobbin thread to make the gathers. Finally I pin in place and attach the waistband. Here are the pics. I hope this helps. It is not super tricky once you do it. :)
