I've got you both beat. I have about 5 loads of laundry done but sitting on my bedroom floor to be folded and what I have folded is still there. My kids will come into my room to pick out their outfits for school. I am soooo bad about getting it put away, usually I can get it folded.
The Winner! I was a little peeved this morning when I woke up and Megan asked for something that was in the dryer. So I actually have moved everything from the dryer to the basket on top of the dryer. At least it is one step closer to being put away.
Lots of cute outfits posted today! Our Joanns is having a 1.99 pattern sale. I went today, but only found a few patterns for me. I want a peasant top pattern for the kiddo (I would like to do one of the pillow case appliques with it) Can anyone recommend a good one for beginners?
When I first was starting out, the first pattern I bought was Simplicity 4206. It is from their Sewing Patterns for Dummies line and has a little twirl skirt, capris, shorts and a peasant top. I loved it because it explained all sewing terms. I recommended it to a friend of mine and she said she was told it was no longer in print, but maybe you can find it or something similar.
This is too cute - couldnt you just put some matching lavender shorts under it and call it a skort??????
That's a good idea! Thanks! Hey, did you finish your sweatshirt? Did you get enough fabric?

Hey it's kinda quite here tonight!! Where is EVERYONE??? Ohh wait, I bet you are all just whipping something fabulous up right now!!!!
Well hurry it up and post some pictures will ya...I am kinda bored here. Kids are snoozing and DH is working.
I just wanted to let you know we just spent five minutes staring at your sig photos. I don't think I have ever told you how gorgeous they are, and apparently Megan loves them too because she wouldn't let me move on!
Gorgeous

we love nemo in this house too
Can you add another tier - or a ruffle - I love it (and if you feel like sending it down under

)
And can someone tell me what "bangs" are?? I'm guessing something to do with hair - all these terms I have never heard of before lol
Thank you for the comment! When we first got Nemo on DVD, the kids would watch it over and over, I think I have it completely memorized!
I think I might try another ruffle. It was one of my first attempts so the inside does not look so good (neither do the gathers, to be honest), I don't think I could send it off without huge disclaimers!
I love fringe! That is such a cute word for them.
I made it there and back safely!! Corey spent the night at Mom's tonight, and as we were driving home, Arminda started laughing and said, "I'm playing a trick on Corey!" When I asked what, she said "I took his Ipod from Grandma's!" SOOOOOOO....... I had to turn the van around and drive BACK to my Mom's to give Corey his Ipod! Thankfully we were only a few miles down the road!
One cute Megan thing after another!!!! I just love hearing about her! I will let Arminda know that Megan's Mommy will let her come over! We have to get together when we are down there!
I got a letter in the mail today from Tessa and Sawyer!!!! It was so cute!!! Tessa acutally wrote "I love you Aunt Teresa" on it!!! She has very good penminship for a four year old!! I should scan it and show you all! And, Sawyer drew me a pictutre!!
Am I a lucky Aunt or what!!!
That sneaky Arminda! So cute!
Playdate! Poor Megan does not have many playdates because with Jacob in competitive soccer this year, our afternoons have been busy. Also, I am picky about her friends. She has to have a playdate with a friend who will play, not fight, boss her around, tattle to me constantly, etc. I don't know why girls are so much worse about this than boys!
Cute about the letter! Megan write me notes all the time. They are always the same: "To my Mom I (heart) you from Megan." She never veers from her message! Unfortunately, her penmanship is not good. Maybe Lydia can give her lessons. I would love to see it!
Ok I have to tell this story even though I find it somewhat embarrasing.
Last night I was working on a duplicate Valentine's dress for DD's cousin. Well the last time I sewed I broke my last needle, so when I started sewing last night I had to put in a new needle. Well after I started sewing the thread kept breaking and when it did sew it was missing stitches majorly bad. Well I fought with that machine all night and again today. I even took the machine in to school with me to get help from my Electronics teachers (one of them sews). Anyway they were no help because the machine is mechanical not Electronic. So I was fed up with it and had convinced DH to buy me a new one. Well I decided to go ahead and try to find an online manual to the machine. I did. So I started reading the manual under troubleshooting. It turns out that I had the needle turned backwards.

I had to call DH and let him know that I did not need a new machine. I did not want to tell him why. He laughed at me when I told him. I know you want to so go ahead and laugh. I know I am.
Awww, I have done things like that too! Once I was stopped for a half an hour because the thread came out of that arm thing on top and I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't sew! Glad you figured it out before you bought a new machine, lol!
so my gather question, maybe I was unclear. haha I tend to do that. I want to make a dress with a gathered skirt bottom but I dont have a pattern for it. I just have an idea in my head what its suppose to look like. I Just do not know how to do the measuring for the "extra" fabric for the gathering. Like how many extra inches over her waist size to make it gathered....does that makes sense??
I have a pattern for the yoke (the waist part) that I use. It is 28 inches wide (14 inches that you place on the fold of the fabric) and 5 1/2 inches long. HTH!
This is so cute! What pattern do you use? I would try a twirl skirt, but they are not necessarily more challenging.
