Potty Training Update

Well, dd2 has had dry pants since 10:30am!!!!! :woohoo: :cool1:  :dance3: :cheer2: She even stayed dry through her 2hr nap! Now, she's in bed and I'm waiting for her to go to sleep. Then I'll wake her up in 30m to go and then again before I go to bed. It's been a great day for us! She even pooped in the potty twice!!!!! She only had four accidents and those were all before 10am before she actually realized how this whole thing was going to work! Hopefully tomorrow will go just as well and we'll be on our way to success!!

 Yeah!!! Definitely sounds like you are on your way to success! I just have one question.....is her reward a TRIP TO WDW?????? Hehehe :cheer2:

Gorgeous :) we love nemo in this house too :)

Why don't you like it?? :confused3 I love it :)

tehehehehehe so cute :)

Can you add another tier - or a ruffle - I love it (and if you feel like sending it down under :rolleyes1 ) :)

This would be perfect for Hawaii :)

And can someone tell me what "bangs" are?? I'm guessing something to do with hair - all these terms I have never heard of before lol

I saw this(http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=222527.0 )post on Craftster & had to try to do it myself.

I think I like it. It still looks a bit odd to me, but I think that's partly because it's flannel (hey, it's what I had on hand) & partly because I've been looking at it so long.

Thank you for that link - I think it looks fab - and that mickey dot fabric is my absolute fav - somehow I MUST find me some of that before our trip next year :)
......................

I'm sittig here at my machine typing one handed while I sew with the other hand...must get dd8's vd skirt done tonight so I can start dd5's cheetah skirt....:surfweb: eyes starting to get heavy must go to sleeeeepppp:cloud9:

We had a snow day today so I decided to plop my butt and the sewing machine and make my DD a valentine outfit. Instead of waiting until the night before and only getting to wear it once....here it is nothing spectacular but not bad for a yard of hearts and enough white for the ruffle and straps. I also decided to spiff it up a little bit with a ruffly ribbon heart on the bottom.

Heather, that is beautiful!!!!!! I'm sure Ariel can throw a pretty mean punch!

Those are cute!

Very pretty! If I keep seeing these Vday customs, I'm gonna have to make one and I really don't want to! Although, I am going to CASE Leslie's Mickey Ears shirts. The girls already picked out their fabric for them!

i hope all works out for you

.............

:rotfl2: Sorry, just thought this was funny. Bangs are the front part of the hair that is cut shorter, above your eyes. What term do you all use?

This is what I've been working on...a little while back, I was trying to copy a certain style skirt from :wizard: and this is my version.
Sorry about the photos...the outfit is really bright and the fabric is beautiful, but photographed against my brown/orange wall, really makes it look *bleh*
anyway..
301862025.jpg

I'm also pleased to announce that Ireland's bangs are starting to grow out...LOL
Now the question...should I Disney-fy it. I was thinking of adding a green Mickey head on the front with a yellow bow? or should I just leave it as is...the last time I asked this question about the sailor outfit, it's really paying off...I have 28 watchers...LOL

That looks great Elisa! I like it without the Mickey myself. It is so pretty!
I CANNOT believe I did that! I am sooo sorry, can you ever forgive me? And yes they are both gorgeous! That is what I get for typing, talking on the phone and trying to pacify a very upset one year old all at the same time Good Luck getting to your mom's! Drive safely!
I have been known to do it myself, so don't worry about it! And, like I said, Mom does it ALL the time!

I made it there and back safely!! Corey spent the night at Mom's tonight, and as we were driving home, Arminda started laughing and said, "I'm playing a trick on Corey!" When I asked what, she said "I took his Ipod from Grandma's!" SOOOOOOO....... I had to turn the van around and drive BACK to my Mom's to give Corey his Ipod! Thankfully we were only a few miles down the road!

Megan makes me read all the comments and she just said, "It's true, I am too cute!" Modest too, as you can see. Thank you for your nice comments!

Don't think she doesn't know it! She was mad at first that Tessa's mom "copied her" but I explained that we were doing it at the exact same time so there was no copying involved. What would she think if she knew all my stuff is "copied" from one place or another?

Maybe a white ruffle would tie into the tank and make it decent? I'll have to try it.

Megan is out riding her bike so I can't continue the conversation. I'll let you know what she says. I do know her Mommy would have Lydia and Arminda over anytime!

Do be careful on your way there and back!
One cute Megan thing after another!!!! I just love hearing about her! I will let Arminda know that Megan's Mommy will let her come over! We have to get together when we are down there!

And, I think a white ruffle would be adorable!
I just got my photpass CD!   I think I will go figure out how to do a TR, I'm not promising anything up to the standards of everyone else's trippies, but at least I won't fill up this board here with my photos and stories!
OOOH COOL! Make sure you let us know when you start your TR!!!

That looks great!! I love the heart!

oh ! that will be cute can't wait to see it ...
I am fighting with the Devil and Angel on my shoulder telling me that i need a custom outfit for the Hannah Montanna 3-D concert movie We are going to tommorow with Jhammy and utahmama and the girls ,
i should just go to the wal-mart and buy something from there massive wing of Hannah stuff but i saw the montanna fabric and i keep thinking i need to make a stripwork jumper to go over some pants for Jayedyn but i think the Devil is winning today i just don't have the time .....

anywhooo sorry i am just rambling on.. i think it is all the laundry detergent fumes...

I was wondering if anyone else was thinking of making outfits for the movie!! I really want to make the girls something! We go on Tuesday. We are so excited!!!

If you keep dressing that boy like a girl you're gonna give him issues later in life. My aunt has twin boys and when they were little they had long curly hair. Well one day my little sister and I dressed one of them up as a girl. With a pink dress and bonnett. That boy now has issues. I blame my sister it was her idea.

That just made me laugh! :rotfl2:

We went to see the Hannah Montanna 3D Concert Movie. Kaedyn loved it. It was pretty good, I would say worth the $15 ticket.

That is good to hear! Not that I bought the tickets, Grandma is treating all her granddaughters!

That is SOOOO me, I've had a few baskets of folded laundry in my bedroom for weeks, OK maybe more like over a month... I can't bring myself to put it away. I HATE putting laundry away. I just pick my clothes out of the basket, I know what is in each one and at this point they are almost like my dresser!:rotfl2:
Me too!!!! Or, I put them on Lydia's toddler bed that is in our room. She doesn't sleep there anymore(she can't it's filled with clothes!)

I should scan it and show you all! And, Sawyer drew me a pictutre!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc Am I a lucky Aunt or what!!!

I'm curious what you call it too! It never occured to me that bangs wasn't a universal term! :confused3 ;)

I'm so excited I just had to share!!!! Our Disneyland trip for 09 is definately going to happen now. I went out and got myself a part time job. woohoo!!! I've been a sahm for the past 4 years. It's kind of strange going back to work but I'm sure it will be fun. I just have to keep telling myself......it's to fund my disney habit, it's to fund my disney habit. :rotfl2:

Oh a fringe that is interesting .;)
I decided against making a custom for the Hannah Montanna movie instead i am just making a hair bow for DD's hair...;)

Ok I have to tell this story even though I find it somewhat embarrasing.

Last night I was working on a duplicate Valentine's dress for DD's cousin. Well the last time I sewed I broke my last needle, so when I started sewing last night I had to put in a new needle. Well after I started sewing the thread kept breaking and when it did sew it was missing stitches majorly bad. Well I fought with that machine all night and again today. I even took the machine in to school with me to get help from my Electronics teachers (one of them sews). Anyway they were no help because the machine is mechanical not Electronic. So I was fed up with it and had convinced DH to buy me a new one. Well I decided to go ahead and try to find an online manual to the machine. I did. So I started reading the manual under troubleshooting. It turns out that I had the needle turned backwards. :rolleyes1 I had to call DH and let him know that I did not need a new machine. I did not want to tell him why. He laughed at me when I told him. I know you want to so go ahead and laugh. I know I am.

so my gather question, maybe I was unclear. haha I tend to do that. I want to make a dress with a gathered skirt bottom but I dont have a pattern for it. I just have an idea in my head what its suppose to look like. I Just do not know how to do the measuring for the "extra" fabric for the gathering. Like how many extra inches over her waist size to make it gathered....does that makes sense??

Ok so here is the pirate fabric I got to make Georgia's birthday dress. I also have about 12 of these bandanna's I don't know what to do with. any ideas??

I was thinking about making some matching somethings for Georgia's Daisy girl scout troop for their field trip to DIsney on Ice Princess Wishes. since there are only three going.

Ok, I Know I am hogging up the posts all in a row. haha but I still have these knit fabrics what would you make with them. I was thinking a swing top type dress/shirt for Georgia to wear over jeans.
DSCN2636.jpg

This is the skirt I make the most. Its the simplest and Georgia loves it. But i want to try something a little more challenging and not as simple... But I am pretty new to sewing still. what would you suggest?

that is a cute skirt i need to try that one and your lil girl is adorable...:cutie:

I don't know how many of these you have, but you could use them to make simple twirl skirts. They are real easy when using the bandanas. You just cut them in half and use 3-4 halves per skirt and then add a bottom layer of fabric a little longer than the top to go under the bandana fabric and then make a casing for elastic at the top. When you make a casing for elastic then you don't have to gather anything. You can PM me if this doesn't make sense. It's late and I'm tired so babbling is unavoidable.

 Yeah!!! Definitely sounds like you are on your way to success! I just have one question.....is her reward a TRIP TO WDW?????? Hehehe :cheer2:

Actually her reward is a trip to the BBB when we go on our surprise trip in December. It's funny, she was on the potty and I thought she was asking for a Bibbiti Bobbiti Boo 'cake" and she kept getting frustrated with me. Then I realized she wants to go to the boutique like her sisters did this past December. So, I sat down with her and we designed a Belle outfit for the BBB!

I'm about to wake her up in 10m and take her to the potty. I have no idea if she's dry or not. Last night I woke her up and took her, and after 30m of crying (literally!!!!!!!!:headache: ) she finally went. I'm hoping that since I didn't give in on that battle, she'll realize from now on "if I just go pee, I can go back to bed!" I hope!

This is the skirt I make the most. Its the simplest and Georgia loves it. But i want to try something a little more challenging and not as simple... But I am pretty new to sewing still. what would you suggest?

th_DSCN2451.jpg
th_GeorgiaPrincessSkirt.jpg

Kell, I remember that princess skirt! I think you should try a twirl skirt. It's super simple. You just make the top layer twice her waist length, 2nd row twice the 1st, and 3rd twice the 2nd. Gather and stitch them all together, put elastic in the waist and that's it! Very simple and she'll love it.

I've got you both beat. I have about 5 loads of laundry done but sitting on my bedroom floor to be folded and what I have folded is still there. My kids will come into my room to pick out their outfits for school. I am soooo bad about getting it put away, usually I can get it folded.

The Winner! I was a little peeved this morning when I woke up and Megan asked for something that was in the dryer. So I actually have moved everything from the dryer to the basket on top of the dryer. At least it is one step closer to being put away.

Lots of cute outfits posted today! Our Joanns is having a 1.99 pattern sale. I went today, but only found a few patterns for me. I want a peasant top pattern for the kiddo (I would like to do one of the pillow case appliques with it) Can anyone recommend a good one for beginners?

When I first was starting out, the first pattern I bought was Simplicity 4206. It is from their Sewing Patterns for Dummies line and has a little twirl skirt, capris, shorts and a peasant top. I loved it because it explained all sewing terms. I recommended it to a friend of mine and she said she was told it was no longer in print, but maybe you can find it or something similar.

This is too cute - couldnt you just put some matching lavender shorts under it and call it a skort??????

That's a good idea! Thanks! Hey, did you finish your sweatshirt? Did you get enough fabric?

:surfweb: Hey it's kinda quite here tonight!! Where is EVERYONE??? Ohh wait, I bet you are all just whipping something fabulous up right now!!!! Well hurry it up and post some pictures will ya...I am kinda bored here. Kids are snoozing and DH is working. :lmao:

I just wanted to let you know we just spent five minutes staring at your sig photos. I don't think I have ever told you how gorgeous they are, and apparently Megan loves them too because she wouldn't let me move on!

Gorgeous :) we love nemo in this house too :)

Can you add another tier - or a ruffle - I love it (and if you feel like sending it down under :rolleyes1 ) :)

And can someone tell me what "bangs" are?? I'm guessing something to do with hair - all these terms I have never heard of before lol

Thank you for the comment! When we first got Nemo on DVD, the kids would watch it over and over, I think I have it completely memorized!

I think I might try another ruffle. It was one of my first attempts so the inside does not look so good (neither do the gathers, to be honest), I don't think I could send it off without huge disclaimers!

I love fringe! That is such a cute word for them.

I should scan it and show you all! And, Sawyer drew me a pictutre!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc Am I a lucky Aunt or what!!!

That sneaky Arminda! So cute!

Playdate! Poor Megan does not have many playdates because with Jacob in competitive soccer this year, our afternoons have been busy. Also, I am picky about her friends. She has to have a playdate with a friend who will play, not fight, boss her around, tattle to me constantly, etc. I don't know why girls are so much worse about this than boys!

Cute about the letter! Megan write me notes all the time. They are always the same: "To my Mom I (heart) you from Megan." She never veers from her message! Unfortunately, her penmanship is not good. Maybe Lydia can give her lessons. I would love to see it!

Awww, I have done things like that too! Once I was stopped for a half an hour because the thread came out of that arm thing on top and I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't sew! Glad you figured it out before you bought a new machine, lol!

so my gather question, maybe I was unclear. haha I tend to do that. I want to make a dress with a gathered skirt bottom but I dont have a pattern for it. I have a pattern for the yoke (the waist part) that I use. It is 28 inches wide (14 inches that you place on the fold of the fabric) and 5 1/2 inches long. HTH!

This is so cute! What pattern do you use? I would try a twirl skirt, but they are not necessarily more challenging.
