We had a snow day today so I decided to plop my butt and the sewing machine and make my DD a valentine outfit. Instead of waiting until the night before and only getting to wear it once....here it is nothing spectacular but not bad for a yard of hearts and enough white for the ruffle and straps. I also decided to spiff it up a little bit with a ruffly ribbon heart on the bottom.

That's pretty! I really like that heart.

I saw this(http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=222527.0 )post on Craftster & had to try to do it myself.

I think I like it. It still looks a bit odd to me, but I think that's partly because it's flannel (hey, it's what I had on hand) & partly because I've been looking at it so long.

This was a trial runt o make sure I had the pattern right. I'm going to make it again using this:

i should just go to the wal-mart and buy something from there massive wing of Hannah stuff but i saw the montanna fabric and i keep thinking i need to make a stripwork jumper to go over some pants for Jayedyn but i think the Devil is winning today i just don't have the time .....

anywhooo sorry i am just rambling on...:rotfl: i think it is all the laundry detergent fumes... :lmao:

Hi ya'll,

Wow - a girl misses a few days of the DIS and comes back to find all kinds of cute outfits being posted. I love everything! I haven't touched my machine or my fabric since before Lily's Birthday party on the 19th of January. BUT I do have a great reason for it.

I started a new job which doesn't allow me to DIS during the day anymore. I was working as a 4-H youth development agent and now I am the Culinary Arts Instructor at the local technical college. I am so excited :cheer2: and once things slow down (yeah right - I have 4 classes all at the same time all day long!) I will be able to DIS more often. Our new laptop came in today so I plan on going back and looking over all the new stuff again.

Just wanted to let you know that I am still here but MIA for a little while.

I found our pictures from when Arminda donated her hair to Locks Of Love. She was in 1st grade in these pictures, so she was almost 7. I still have a hard time looking at these pictures!

Before getting it cut. She looks nervous in this picture, but she was just very excited

Aww what a wonderful thing she did!!! She is absoultely a cutie-pie!!!

The pictures at the GF beach were cute!! I would love to take my mom to disney- She has never been :scared1:
:
Thank you so much!!! I had such a blast with my Mom and DD at WDW!!! If you can take your Mom...do it!!! Our trip was so special!!!

I also found pictures of Arminda in her ballet class! Remember way back on our old board when we were sharing these! Well, now I can too!

Arminda (and all the other girls too) was 5 in these pictures:

Aww how cute!!!

Well, if you ignore all housework for two days, then it's no problem! I will be paying for it today!

:lmao: Well I've ignored housework for days and still have not had the time to sew...LOL....!!!!:rotfl2:

WOW, you guys remembered me, and my grandchildren, and my daughter who is in recovery! You are all so awesome!

I didn't know the thread was gone. Are there archives of the photos?

So Sad!

I have been so so busy. Jamie and her husband and Cameron were recently homeless in North Phila. and are staying with us until they are on their feet. So I get to come home and wake up to my darling grandson Cameron, now 10 months and 24 pounds of joy. SIL finally got a job in a foundry here and he has worked one week. He is trying to enlist in the Army for all of the family benefits. He just has to pass the physical...don't know how that will go.

Makayla is now 3! Where does the time go? I haven't had time to sew or to respond to any of the threads, but I was following everyone's creations and they are just as great as imagined!

Thanks for thinking of me. Had to cancel my upcoming trip to WDW for my 58th birthday...too much commotion with trying to help Jamie and family.

Welcome back!!! Sorry you had to cancel your trip but that is so sweet of you to be helping out your daughter and her family!!!

Here's a little tute on how to make the reversible twirl skirt:

Carla

Oh wow, this is so sweet of you. Thanks so much for sharing with all of us!!!

Okay here are the lastest things I've been doing.

Valentine bag - not in love with this but it's going to have to do.

.

I love that bag. very cute!

I haven't caught up on the last day and a half, but here's what I was working on yesterday. A gigantic Ariel head dress! The 3rd picture is our Michigan version of a sundress and the 4th picture is Tessa boxing. As we all know, Ariel is quite the boxer. :confused3

Aww you have the cutest kids. Love Tessa's new dress!!!! And that picture of your little man is too funny!!!! :rotfl2:

Here it is before they started playing on it. Sorry the pictures arent' real clear, I wasn't about to actually go outside, so I used extreme zoom and stood at the back door!

Pretty cool for free!

Way cool rocket!!!! Great FIND!!!!

As many guesses as you want.

It's not: Amos, Andy, Eric, Dale, Donald, Phillip, Sabasian or Lightning McQueen, Christopher, or Robin ;)!!
If I ever have a son I think that I will name him Lightning!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

We have a winner!!! It's Marlin!! (It was his granffather's name!)
I like your son's name.

This went pretty fast, but I'm not real happy with the way it fits her. I shirred it in the back, but it's still too loose. The fabric is sparkly variegated colors with gold hearts.
This is cute I might have to CASE this.

We have those tees at Walmart too - but in long sleeves. It is starting to get easier to find short sleeve tees in Michigan now. Good thing I didn't need to buy any for our trip! I'm down to single digit days!! I'm sooo excited!!

HeatherSue - very cute! I love the color on that dress!

Carla - thanks for giving us the instructons for that adorable skirt! Wouldn't you know it, my DS gets to be my model sometimes too...

We've discussed how much therapy this boy will need on this thread many times!
If you keep dressing that boy like a girl you're gonna give him issues later in life. :lmao: My aunt has twin boys and when they were little they had long curly hair. Well one day my little sister and I dressed one of them up as a girl. With a pink dress and bonnett. That boy now has issues. :rotfl2: I blame my sister it was her idea.

Dude, I just packed up to ship over 50 yards off of each roll, and they barely look touched :scared1: . ANyone else want some? You can have up to 5 yards of each. :) Also, some people need to PM me their addresses. Everyone who asked will receive.

Honestly, the petti was his idea! It was on a chair and he got it and tried to put it on. So I helped a little and got the camera! :lmao:

load # 4 of the laundry is done Can i just say i love washing it and folding it but i hate putting it away :headache: :headache: anybody else feel this way?

Um, it's going on 24 hours that those clothes have been sitting in the dryer. They might have to sit there until I have to wash again! :rotfl:

I've got you both beat. I have about 5 loads of laundry done but sitting on my bedroom floor to be folded and what I have folded is still there. My kids will come into my room to pick out their outfits for school. I am soooo bad about getting it put away, usually I can get it folded.

I have been gone most of the day and I came back to 12 pages to read :)

We went to see the Hannah Montanna 3D Concert Movie. Kaedyn loved it. It was pretty good, I would say worth the $15 ticket.

Lots of cute outfits posted today! Our Joanns is having a 1.99 pattern sale. I went today, but only found a few patterns for me. I want a peasant top pattern for the kiddo (I would like to do one of the pillow case appliques with it) Can anyone recommend a good one for beginners?

Thanks so much Carla for the tute for the darling little petti twirl! I LOVE it!! :flower3: Are you going to be offering this on YCMT anytime soon? You have some of the most darling patterns on the site!

My favorite is Simplicity 5119. It's a Lizzie McGuire pattern. It fits an 8-16. I have used it for my daughter even when she was a size 6. I just adjusted the neckline to fit, and the sleeves to what length I like. I like the curved neckline as opposed to a square. It's just easier for me if my bodkin doesn't have to turn a corner.

That is SOOOO me, I've had a few baskets of folded laundry in my bedroom for weeks, OK maybe more like over a month... I can't bring myself to put it away. I HATE putting laundry away. I just pick my clothes out of the basket, I know what is in each one and at this point they are almost like my dresser!:rotfl2:

On a similiar vein as the Nemo shirt, I made this while Megan was at school. She must have grown four inches since last summer, because that skirt is short! I don't know what I am going to do about that. Maybe just pass it along to a friend with a little one.

This is too cute - couldnt you just put some matching lavender shorts under it and call it a skort??????

:surfweb: Hey it's kinda quite here tonight!! Where is EVERYONE??? Ohh wait, I bet you are all just whipping something fabulous up right now!!!! Well hurry it up and post some pictures will ya...I am kinda bored here. Kids are snoozing and DH is working. :lmao:

Heather, that is beautiful!!!!!! I'm sure Ariel can throw a pretty mean punch!

Those are cute!

Very pretty! If I keep seeing these Vday customs, I'm gonna have to make one and I really don't want to! Although, I am going to CASE Leslie's Mickey Ears shirts. The girls already picked out their fabric for them!

Potty Training Update

Well, dd2 has had dry pants since 10:30am!!!!! :woohoo: :cool1:  :dance3: :cheer2: She even stayed dry through her 2hr nap! Now, she's in bed and I'm waiting for her to go to sleep. Then I'll wake her up in 30m to go and then again before I go to bed. It's been a great day for us! She even pooped in the potty twice!!!!! She only had four accidents and those were all before 10am before she actually realized how this whole thing was going to work! Hopefully tomorrow will go just as well and we'll be on our way to success!!

I LOVE THIS! I looked at a shirt yesterday that was in this style and thought how cute I wish I could find a pattern like that! So THANK YOU!
