It was a nice thought!I like the look of the big faced princesses!!!! I wish I had a big Mickey head!
Ok, I'm going to be MIA this weekend. We are potty training and we start cold turkey tomorrow morning. I can't leave dd2's side, so I won't be on here much, maybe naptime and after bedtime. I also have a lot of sewing to catch up on! I just dread coming back on Monday to 75 pages to catch up on!!!! So, everyone needs to stay busy this weekend and keep the posting to a minimumIt was a nice thought!
AHHH! I love these dresses! Love the animal print!!!!
ACTUALLY, this was the first project I did too...I then progressed to Aurora within 10 outfits. I made sure to challenge myself each time. Now I'm a professional bridal seamstress (NOT) but really, I think I can do any beginner/intermediate pattern.
I had a dress like this when I was a youngish girl and had a "wardrobe malfunction" so be careful (wink)
Go for it and have fun. I was extremely intimidated the first time I put a zipper on something, but now I do it with ease.I will add straps to this so that I don't have a wardrobe malfunction. I don't think I'll use ties but actually straps. My next project is just regular sewing but I have to put the pieces together.
My DD22 picked out a pattern for a dress tonight that requires a zipper. So I will be progressing to that soon. She also found some material like this and wants me to make her a shirt.
We did those! They were a lot of fun. My kids wore them to AK and we went on Kali river rapids about 100 times (the beauty of going in Sept.!) and the dye ran down the back of their legs and stained the skirts they were wearing. I had washed those things about 10 times too! Just remember that the dye probably won't be totally colorfast. Have fun!

What is that top? That is the cutest! I love the straps! How did you do that????
I guess you just never know with the dye - we did some for our family - got wet and no problem - i guess its just a 50/50 shot at the running???

I just bought that same pillow case. I am thinking of putting the sebastian on the leg of a pair of shorts or jeans. Did you Applique Arial to a white fabric first? I think the pillow case is a little thin. I really like the Flounder on the back. DId you get the fish fabric at Wal Mart too? I bought a blue bubbly type print.I love the poses! Leslie, When I think of an "Emily" pose, I think of that one where she is glancing over her shoulder. I think she is wearing the Tink with the elastic straps. She is so cute in that picture and looks like a model.
Anywho, this is what I did today! I am so happy to be finished!

She wanted this in here, to show off her house:

The pillowcase part is a little stiff, hopefully after we wash it a few times it will soften up. My husband was so funny, he saw me cutting up the pillowcase and said, are you just going to leave Flounder there? You should put him on the back. So I did. When I finished the top last night he said, It's cool, but I'm not a fan of the big face. Why does her face have to be so big? I guess you have to really like the big faced princesses to like these outfits, lol!
Oh, the scalloped edge skirt was so easy! It took a while for me to do, probably because I am slow, but it's wasn't hard at all and the directions were terrific. Next time I might attempt it with tulle, but I do like this look so she can wear it to school and Disney. Thanks Carla!
Whenever you post a photo I look for Scrappy too.Darn that dog! He gets into every picture! I didn't see in through the window of the house until now, lol!
He's a cutie pie! This pic is close to the Emily.

And this pose is what I call the Jenna.

For some reason she always puts her head to the side when I take pictures of her.
Riley wanted me to make something for Drew to wear to her basketball games. Riley also wanted me to tell you that Drew doesn't tuck the shirt in all dorky like that and that I just did that so the words showed up in the picture!

Drew calls this her cheerleader outfit. I didn't want to do all of the pleats of a cheerleader skirt so I cheated and told her that cheerleaders sometimes wear skirts like this!![]()
This is CarlaC stripwork jumper. I modified the back and staps. The Tink set has just a regular skirt. For the straps I cut a piece of elastic the length the strap needs to be. Make a casing 2x the length of the elastic, insert elastic into the casing and secure both ends. I've never done a button hole - I don't need to with the elastic back and straps!
Here's some front views...

The time has come for the much anticipated Doodlebops concert. We leave tomorrow. My DD has been very excited. I promised her that I would make her a skirt. I had the embroidered panels done a week ago. I've been sick for two weeks, the last 3 days have been very, very bad. We also had a death that we had do deal with so that cut into some sewing time. This isn't my best work by any means. But I'm sure my DD will love it, and I was able to get it done, which is the most important thing at this point.

The DeeDee panel is the front.
Obviously, I need to come up with a top. I'm gonna check the weather to see if I can alter a short sleeve t-shirt. Whatever I do, it's gonna have to be easy and quick. Any ideas?
Wow that is cute! Care to let us know how you did it?had to share my newest headband.

Are you feeling better? I like the skirt and I think if you have some of the fabrics left you should make a peasant top!
