SUGARBEES- I somehow missed the post of your adorable things! LOVE the top and dress, but ESPECIALLY love the bow holders! I bought all of the stuff to make one of these like a year ago and still have not done it! I need these! We have like a million bows and they are just lying around everywhere! Great job and thanks for the inspiration!

On a high note, it's a SNOW DAY!!!

Congrats on the fabric!!! I know your trip isn't for a while but I hope that you will post a pic of whatever you make out of it when you finish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
   We definitely need to see your creations!!
I always use patterns. I am going to make the t-shirt nightgown but I am askeered. :scared: I don't have a pattern to make the skirt portion. I held the flannel up to DD and cut a little place in it so I would know how long to make it. Now I will use my rotary cutter to cut it straight. But I don't know how full it should be.

Here is what I made on Sunday

Trying to pose the way Tinkerbell is on the shirt.

DS loved the nightgown too. He said he was going to dream that he was flying to Neverland with Peter Pan.
th_IMG_5683.jpg

And just because they are too cute.
th_IMG_5671.jpg

Both the nightgown and the Tinkerbell top are like Peasant shirts. They are so EASY! It came together fast. Now I know what I am going to do with my St. Patrick's day material.
My ds likes "girl" things too -he just turned 4. The PJs are all really cute!!
In honor of winning the nemo fabric I will be giving away a family 4 pack of National Amusement movie tickets. They are for any Showcase cinemas, cinema de lux, or multiplex cinema. You must live in a city/state that has a National Amusement theater. These are usually very expensive (you know what it cost to go to a movie) no imagine....FREE admission! WOO HOO! All you need is a popcorn, pop, and some candy. 4 passes.

Were gonna play a game. Right now I have chose a pool home to rent when we goto disney. Even talked my DH into paying the extra money / night for the better house. This is a great house. I will post some clues and the first person to guess the house (the name or the url) will get the tickets. You can guess as many times as you wnat to. I will start with a few clues in a little bit. Then add a few more clues in a while. This game could take a little time, is anyone interested?
Sorry I don't live in any of those states- Oh but I see you got a Winner-
Congrats Revrob- What are you going to see??
And BTW the house is FABULOUS- I would Love to spend a week there!!!

The weather update here in Minnesota:
The temperature is currently -11
and the wind chill is -31
With winds about 11 mph
BRRRRRRRR it is SO cold my furnace can't even keep up!!!

Well, I've been using the same one for about 8yrs and it works fine! That might be a big no-no to some, but I figure why change the blade if it still works fine.

I've been using the same blade for several years, too... and it was working fine until recently when I accidently tried to cut over a pin. I think the pin dulled the blade in one little spot. It still works okay if I press hard or saw back and forth, but I think I might have to get a new one soon.

Moral of the story: Don't try to cut over pins.

My mom got me a fiskars rotary cutter on black friday - I finally got to open it and fresh out of the package, it has a dull spot!
The ONLY thing it cut before fabric was me.
heh.
here's a tip for you:
When trying out a new rotary cutter with a "trigger," try not to practice when Law and Order is just coming on and people are getting shot on tv.
I looked up to see who got shot, depressed the trigger and ended up with a nice gash in my thumb.
So if anyone noticed any red in their fabric squares from me, I SWEAR the Minnie dot bled!

On a Disney note. Anyone have a reference for a 4 bedroom pool home we can rent Thursday - Monday in May 2009 between $125 -$160 a night? We have to have 2 twin rooms (2 beds ) and 2 single rooms (master and teenager). I want the twin rooms to be themed rooms. Also a game room is nice. Toys would be great but not mandatory. I donno, do you think my standards are too high for all that I want? Oh, and we have to have a bbq grill also. :confused3 Anyone know anyone, have anything?
Here's a link to the house we're staying in this May. http://www.dolphinvillaflorida.com/index.htm Teresa is going to be in a similar house (but better decorated) right across the street. We're paying $600/week total with taxes. But, the new price is $650/week before tax. I don't know if they have a BBQ grill, but if you save enough money, you could buy one to use there! :rotfl:

ETA: Oops, I see you already got one!

I am proof you can teach an old dog new tricks. It took me a year to get around to it, but I learned to post pictures and multi-quote in the course of 7 days!!!

Yay.:goodvibes
YAY!!!

For the mommy-and-me...can't make myself one of the dresses/tops like Brianna's. I wear a G/H cup. It wouldn't fit right.

Soooo.....

Anyone want a mommy and me outfit made out of the silver fabric?? I'll GIVE YOU ONE. CONTEST!

Ok, here are the rules:

1. I can't make it until I finish my Disney customs, so you probably won't get it until May, as I probably won't even start until after we get back from WDW.

2. The mommy top is just a band with an attached skirty bottom. I can make a corset style back or it can just go over your head. This works best for an A or B cup. The bottom for the mommy is a gathered skirt with tiers of the embroidery. I could do drawstring capri-pants if you prefer. I THINK I have fabric that would work for it. The little girl outfit is almost identical to Brianna's, but the pants are bloomers, so not meant to be full length.

3. Please have your DD be about a size 4-8 ish. I will make more than one DD outfit if you have multiples.

4. You must be willing to send me pics of you guys wearing it that I can use for advertising. :)

5. I can't think of a good question, so PM me if you want your name added to the hat. I'll have Spencer pick one randomly tomorrow morning.

Oh, and a reminder on the Minnie roll....I haven't actually gotten it yet. :( As soopn as it arrives, I'll start hacking it up. :lmao:
Dude. ;) That's so cool that you'd do that. Believe me, you wouldn't want to use a picture of me in that outfit for advertising!! :rotfl:

Hi all! It's been a couple months since I've been dis'n. Is this the new boutique thread? Is the other one still around?

That Wendy nightgown is so cute:cutie: I just love checking out everyone's creations.
Yep, this is the new thread and they haven't brought our old one back yet. They say they will, but I'm not holding my breath! Even if they do, it will probably be locked to new posts. So, this is our new home. :welcome: back!

MUST BE NICE! All of that snow looks like FUN!
Nope, not so much! We don't have very much snow, it's just that all the snow from the yard is blown right in front of the garage door! It's way too cold to play outside, so we're just trying to entertain each other in the house!

He loved it and slept in it two nights in a row! He wanted to wear it all day Monday :lmao:

My DH just laughed. I would love to be able to come up with something like the boys wear. Jon and Michael wear white nightshirts in the Peter Pan movie.
I am no good without a pattern though...
I bet he'd love a nightshirt! You could try making a long sleeved peasant top, but without the elastic around the sleeves or the waist. If you don't want it to look like a nightgown, you could make it look like a long shirt and put some brown flannel pants under it or something.

How cool! I just looked and the closest National Amusement theater to me is 2.5 hours away- DARN!

Hey, what subdivision/town is that house located in?

Do you have trouble with fingerprints on your computer screen?
I found the perfect solution.

:rotfl: Tessa asked if that dog was really in the computer! That is so cute!

Here is DD's Valentine's Day peasant top. It was my first attempt at shirring! I am going to make her some ruffle jeans to go with it, but she couldn't wait to wear the top to school. I had intended to make the sleeves long but she wanted them short. Then she decided that's it's way too cold for shorter sleeves and had to wear a tee under it. :rolleyes1

I really like this! The hearts on the front are so sweet!

I think I messed up the quote- I think it was MOUSETRIPER who asked this:

Anyway I work with people who have developmental disabilities. I have 8 people who each have 5-8 hrs of services per week. I do one sleep over night at a group home so I can be full time and get all the benefits. 4 of the people I have worked with for more than 7 years. The other 4 range from 1-4 years with me. They are a really great group. We do alot of fun things as well as all of the daily living type things- making sure they get to the dr., go with them if they need it, you don't even know how many times I go to the grocery store every week!! budgeting, food planning, personal needs shopping and general problem solving stuff. Some had special diets, I go to the ymca and work out right along side them. I have been doing this for almost 10 years and it is different every day- they definitly keep me on my toes!! Sorry it got so long aren't you glad you asked?!?!?

Oh wow, what an amazing person you are and what a wonderfol job you have!!! I bet these people just adore you!!! You are probably just like family to them!!!

Look what I woke up to this morning- it's a 4ft snow drift, right in front of my garage door!!! I put a little gingerbread man on top of the drift, so you can see how high it is!

1-30-08Snowdrift.jpg

There's no way I'm going anywhere today. Henry said he barely made it out, with his truck in 4 wheel drive. The drift is higher in front of my garage door, so I guess we're staying home.

On a high note, it's a SNOW DAY!!!

Ohhh I wish I was in Michigan right now, stuck at my favorite cousin's house!!!! Snowed in!!! Did I tell you we get to go to Michigan this summer. Oh and I finally get to go to Mackinaw too....my cousin who lives in Traverse City is going to take us!!! :cool1:

we didn't get the snow in northwest ohio, but it is 10 below 0 with the 50-60 mph wind gust. Im the Stay at home mom, so 2 of my friends called me without a babysitter. I will have 6 girls today from ages 4 - 9. Calgon, take me away! :rotfl:

OMG yes you will be BUSY today!!!!! :cool1:

:goodvibes Aww too funny!!! What a cutie he is. Great job on the outfits!!!

Hey All! What happened, only 7 pages to catch up on today! :lmao:

Thanks everyone for answering my questions about the patterns. Ironically, I OWN over 2,000 patterns (I bought them in lots, and sold off the ones I hated), but I rarely use them. I always feel like such a slacker. The only things I feel I have to use a pattern for are set-in sleeves and if I ever get up the nerve to make something with a collar.

Uh, I almost always ruffle and attach at the same time. :confused3 I just took a pre-set length of fabric and ruffled it measuring before and after to get the ratio of the ruffle. I always leave a few extra inches on either side, but it usually works out fine.

For the mommy-and-me...can't make myself one of the dresses/tops like Brianna's. I wear a G/H cup. It wouldn't fit right.
