That's me mourning our old thread!! I haven't read through this new thread yet, I just wanted to express my sadness. I can't believe all of our silliness has been pushed into oblivioin. Plus, now I have to work my way to the top of the post count again!

I was sooo lost & going bonkers, before Heather helped me find y'all! I need closure, shall we have a memorial service for the old thread? I just can't cope with this change well! I need a hug, a tissue, some shread of respect? Here come my water works.....BAAAAA....WAAAAA.....BOOOO......HOOOOO....SLOBBER...-"WHY, oh why did they have to mess with such a good thing?"
On another note, I could sure use some motivation girls. I took a break from sewing to go away for a long scrapbook weekend/getaway. Now, I've come back non-motivated to sew & ready to scrap some more. Anyone else have troubles balancing hobbies?

I've been battling the blues this week because it looks like we won't be able to make Disneyland in the spring. We'd hoped to do spring & Christmas '08. I don't think we can swing both trips. It's so sad! I tried a little retail therapy & all I keep looking at are matching shirts, fabric, Disney keepsakes! I keep thinking, "this time last year, I was starting to plan our May shirts & Mickey gifts etc". It's sooo sad!! Maybe, this is another reason I've been procrastinating finishing my 'Rella apron?

I have been lurking on this thread and I must say that I am really impressed with how talented you all are. You have rekindled my need to get back behind the Sewing maching!

I am currently working on my first twirl skirt for my DD8. I am using a pink camo fabric and since its my first twirl skirt it has been a learning experience! I would not say my talents near yours but man oh man I am going to try to practice and get better! Now I just need a New baby DD to make clothes for lol!

Love the new avatar! I'm gonna try to find photos of us at the world in '76 (my 1st trip), that'd be funny if we'd been there at the same time!

I like the free flow here too. I was thinking about that this morning. I mean, I would NEVER have opened up a new thread to tell you guys that I have a fear of styrofoam, crocheted blankets, and yes, I too have a fear of cotton balls! (never knew anyone else felt like that about cotton balls!) And, where would you all be without knowing those things about me????

I have to admit that I was very happy to learn that I wasn't the only one with a phobia for cotton balls. I clench my teeth when I have to touch one or see someone else touching one. I have been that way since I was a child.

I've been wanting to add some tutorials right to the first post in the last thread- FAQs, if you will. But, I didn't think the original OP was still around, so I didn't want to bother her. Here's what I think we need in the first post, so we can refer people back to it:

-How to post pictures
-How to make pictures smaller (thumbnail)
-How to multi-quote

I know I had more stuff I wanted to add, but can't think of it right now.

Teresa and I could work on these tutorials, I just want to see if there's anything else you guys feel we need in the first post. We can type it up and ask Tinka Belle to add it to the first post.

Go for it. I am game. I can add anything that you guys think is necessary. Just PM me.

Good idea Heather! I sent her an intro to post, which she ALLREADY did, (girl, you are fast!) But, I forgot to include these tutorials. I did include our "rules" though!


I also wanted to add, don't you love my new siggy smileys! They reflect my kids much better than the ones I had before. But, I need a fancier princess, does anyone know of a good place to get one?

WELCOME!!! When I see all of the ladies sewing matching outfits for their DDs it makes me wish DD had a sister or brother. I might have to do something about that.

I feel your pain! We don't anticipate our next trip before January 2009. It's tough having to wait that long! I'm sewing stuff for AbbyGrace that I HOPE will fit her when we're there.

It's not really hard. I usually open up the outerleg seam versus the inner leg, and it gives you a nice flat place to work on.

I have no prob. with opening the leg. Just with sewing it back up! I mean, it really bends me and my needles out of shape!!! Is there some trick or should I just get over it?

There is allready another board that was started this summer, but I prefer this thread, and don't post there very often. Another board to check just gets too complicated for me!

What I love aout ths thread is that it's just streamlined. I don't have to go back and look at each thread when I want to read something. Maybe I am just lazy> ...Maybe I am because I never learned to post pictures!

I have been here from the beginning and make outfits for my DD all the time and never post. Can somebody walk the lazy one through? Maybe I should change my name?
