Just got it, let me avatar size it and I'll see what I think! I like it so far though!

:cool1: :cool1: AND, WOO HOOO 2000!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
   :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
I have no prob. with opening the leg. Just with sewing it back up! I mean, it really bends me and my needles out of shape!!! Is there some trick or should I just get over it?

Did you use a denim needle?? Mine did that too until I discovered they had needles just for denim.

Well, I gotta go get Arminda at school and then meet my Mom and sister at the mall, so I better go!

Teresa - I really like your new avatar! I'm torn between loving the old pic and wanting it cropped closer. :confused3

On another note, I could sure use some motivation girls. I took a break from sewing to go away for a long scrapbook weekend/getaway. Now, I've come back non-motivated to sew & ready to scrap some more. Anyone else have troubles balancing hobbies?

 ME! Scrapbooking has been my adiction for about 9 years. I've only scrapped a handful of times since I found this thread and started sewing. The oddest thing is that I have hardly missed scrapping at all! Now I'm so torn bacause I'm back from Disney and am itching to start scrapping my trip, but I'm in the middle of a Valentine's day outfit for DD and have all the fabric for an Easter dress. I do think I'm going to do a bit of scapping this weekend, though.

Hello Ladies,

I have been lurking on this thread and I must say that I am really impressed with how talented you all are. You have rekindled my need to get back behind the Sewing maching!

I am currently working on my first twirl skirt for my DD8. I am using a pink camo fabric and since its my first twirl skirt it has been a learning experience! I would not say my talents near yours but man oh man I am going to try to practice and get better! Now I just need a New baby DD to make clothes for lol!

Welcome!!

I love it!! I didn't know you had a schauzer, too! What's it's name?
.
Her name is Annaliese but we call her Leesie, she is 10 years old. We have another boy schnauzer his name is Buddy.

!!!!!!!!!DON'T PANIC GUYS!!!!!!!

It's still me, I just changed my avatar!

So, what do you think? Corey didn't like that picture of him, and was always bugging me to change it. So, I did! This was my second trip to Disney back in 1972!

I love your new Avatar can you tell me how to make one?

The sewing and craft stores sell denim needles made for different sewing machines. They usually come in a 3 pack for a couple buck. I got mine at Joann's. They are much stronger, and you shouldn't break a needle that way.

I love stupidguesttricks.com! I am always telling my husband stories from there. He thinks I am nuts!
Do you post there or just lurk. I used to post there quite a bit but now I just mostly read. I hope that I never do some of the things that some other people have done.

That's good to know. I broke two needles sewing the back of a dress for DD. I will be looking for those next time I buy fabric. Which will be very soon. My ideas folder is over loading.

What I love aout ths thread is that it's just streamlined. I don't have to go back and look at each thread when I want to read something. Maybe I am just lazy>:confused3 ...Maybe I am because I never learned to post pictures!

I have been here from the beginning and make outfits for my DD all the time and never post. Can somebody walk the lazy one through? Maybe I should change my name?

BTW, I have a photobucket acct but my Kaspersky Anti-virus doesn't like it.

Do you have the pic that you want to post uploaded to photobucket? If not, that is the first step.
1. Upload the pic of your choice to photobucket
2. Resize the pic in photobucket (above the pic > edit > resize > website - it will make you verify that you would like to resize the pic
3. After the pic has resized, go to your album, below the pic that you would like to post, there are 4 different codes (email & IM, direct link, html code & IMG code) Click in the box that has the has the IMG code. It will look something like this http: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
When you click on that box, it will light up in yellow, and say "Copied"
4. In the thread on the Dis (in another open window), click on "post reply". When you are ready to post the pic, right click - a box will open, click on paste. This will paste the link that you copied from your photobucket account.
5. Post reply. The pic should show up!

I LOVE that pic. It make me want to dig out some old WDW pics. Very nostalgic.

FYI: my real name isn't Tinka Belle so feel free to call me Crystal. Tinka Belle is actually our dog's name. :lmao: We call her Tinka or Tinks for short.
You should add your real name to your Siggy so we all remember it! I'd hate to keep referring to you by your dog's name!

Her name is Annaliese but we call her Leesie, she is 10 years old. We have another boy schnauzer his name is Buddy.

I love your new Avatar can you tell me how to make one?

He's SO cute!!

I'm getting a new dog on Sunday!!! We're going to adopt a 7 year old male schnauzer named Pierre. I'm thinking I need to make him a beret with a name like that! He's the 2nd one we tried to adopt. I'll post a picture of him when we bring him home. I'm so excited about it!

If you want to PM me a link to the picture you want for an avatar, I'd be happy to resize it for you. Or, you could PM me your e-mail address, then I'll e-mail you my e-mail address, then you can e-mail me the picture. Did yah catch that? ;) Square pictures work best, but I could crop it to be square without a problem.

This offer goes for everyone! Let's all make sure we have an avatar and/or a siggy picture!!

WHAT IN THE HERMIT CRAB IS GOING ON AROUND HERE???!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, now that I have stopped hyperventilating....... what happened to our old wonderful, fantastic, fabulous, completely perfect thread? I don't like this!!!!!! I have been so busy the last couple of days I didn't even get to get on here last night so I totally missed who knows what, and I am really miffed!!!! I hope that whatever I missed I will get a chance to catch up on at some point, I did scan the already long pages that have been posted here and saw some super cute puppies, great fabric stash, and a really cute minnie outfit! So is this our new home and I am just going to have to get used to it? I have to say I am just glad to find you guys, I was going into panic mode! So I guess I will be okay, just as long as no one goes away forever!

We have been told that the old thread will be back tonight. The loooong threads were slowing down the server, so they are experimenting without them. It's been suggested that the old thread be locked so you can still go back and read it, but no new posts. It might also be made sticky.

OOOh, that would be cool! We went every December, anyone else there in the Decembers of 1971-1987????
This is from spring 1976 or maybe '75? I don't really know. I just remember it got real cold for FL & we had to wear our winter coats. The 1st is my sis (she loves anything Disney)....
70sSnacks-1.jpg

And here is right to left, my little sis (3-4 y.o.?), My Mom & me (7 y.o.?) I'm with the red hair, blondie on the far right is my older sis (9 - 10 y.o.?)....
70sWDWGirls.jpg

Funny thing is, I own a pair of glasses like my Mom's cat glasses in the photo & wore them one night to Disneyland also! I was freakin' my family out because they kept thinking I had Mom's glasses on!

Anyone else have some 70s trip photos or TR's to share?

ps-My bell bottom pants are some what custom. We sewed a strawberry patch on the knee! Not exactly Disboutique, but definitely homemade.

I need a little help from those of you who have done the princess faces on the twirly tops (or dresses) the pattern I've been using to do the tops only has a bodice about 4" long, too short to put the faces on. What pattern (or are you making your own) are you using and can someone point me in the right direction, please? I picked up my pillowcase the other day and I'm hoping to get working on both a Belle and a Cinderella top for our upcoming trip. I also picked up a Dora one, my DD requested that I make one for an upcoming birthday party that she's attending on Feb. 9.

I appreciate the help.

I went over to my local Wal-mart hoping for .99 cent fabric but none of that was on sale. WAH! I did end up with two of the Ariel panels that several people have turned into peasant tops, I grabbed two, one for a peasant top and one for a halter, I picked up the halter pattern today.

I've got to do the Dora top and then her Valentine's top this coming week, I don't want to wait until the last minute.

Thanks!

Just use the pattern that you have been using, but extend the bodice to the length that you need. Do the same for the back, making sure the side seam edges are the same length.
This is what I have always done.

Hope this helps!

The problem with the old thread being completely gone is that the instructions that people so painstakingly took the time to write for us will be gone (correct?). Teresa has a lot of links from the old thread in the bookmarks. If the old thread is erased, those links wouldn't work.

I don't mind starting this thread and locking the old one to new posts, but I certainly don't want all of that information to be gone!! If we can still look at it, that would be fine.

Oh - ok - wouldn't want to loose the links. Question for you all though - hoe do you go back and search for instructions people posted? I have tried - but there are SO many posts that they are too hard to find and I end up giving up. I'm guessing you all have a better way - LOL.

I just lurk, I have never posted. I love getting the inside Disney scoop from the castmembers.

Very cool! I don't know where our old Disney pictures are, probably in a shoebox somewhere at my parents'.

Teresa has a link of bookmarks in her signature. There, she put links to specific posts where someone has explained something. That's where I look when I am trying to find something.

Look what I did today, at the expense of my dirty house:

Hey Nancy! Guess what I got in the mail today? Sophie/Scrappy on my JoAnn's circular! Megan said, how did they get a picture of Scrappy? :rotfl:

Thank you so much Tom. I will have to sit down sometime when DH is home so I can do that then it's quiet. My DD hasn't been quiet all day and I can't think straight.

It'll be nice when the thread gets back. I've got to go find one of Teresa's posts to get her links, I didn't realize that when my mac crashed that my bookmarks didn't make it back when my DH put my data back on my mac. All those bookmarks that I had, they are on here somewhere I just have to have DH tell me where.

I think I'm going to make a peasant top so that I take a picture of Delaney in it and her pettiskirt, I was so busy at Christmas that I didn't get our cards out so I want to do a Valentine photo card to go with the Christmas one. Better late than never, right?

Love the old pictures! Now I want to sit and go through old pictures! I have 3 carseats at my front door that need put back in the car, a cabinet full of food that needs put back (cleaning out) and living room full of crap. Oh and let's not forget the moonsand all over the table! And what am I doing, reading this and thinking of getting something else OUT vs PUT AWAY!

I just lurk, I have never posted. I love getting the inside Disney scoop from the castmembers.

As always, adorable!

We went every March (spring break) but didn't start until 80. I was not quite 3.

wowza, I was only gone for a couple of hours and this thread just blasted off! Today my girls wore some of their customs to the mall and got soo much attention. They did look pretty cute! I will take pictures once they get up from nap!

Is it ok for me to make a shirt for me? I was thinking of doing a mickey head on a white shirt but since I can't and don't have a way to sew it would have to be like my dd's princess onsies and have fabric paint, is that dorky for a grown woman?
