I have mixed feelings on it. Yes, it is the Bride's/Groom's day and they get to decide who is invited. However, I also think it is bad that they changed their minds and did not contact you directly. I would call the Bride and ask nicely what is going on and if your DD is invited or not. If not, you can then decide on if you want to go or not. Being so far away I can totally understand not wanting to go if the whole family is not invited.
Absolutely it is the bride and grooms day and I have no problem with a no children policy. I have issue with the fact that one day Lauren is invited and gets an invitation. The next week - she isn't invited anymore.

OH MY GOODNESS! Adorable! I love how the bows have the matching crown emblem! Awesome job.

Man, you guys posting your outfits has me really itching to start mine! I'm shopping for fabric tonight after DH gets home, but won't be able to start on it just yet. Ella's birthday party is this weekend, and I must make her an outfit. We decided against the pink pirate party when we found this adorable Fancy Nancy doll at Target. Ella loves the Fancy Nancy books but we usually check them out at the library. So we bought the doll and a book and I talked Ella into a Fancy Nancy party. So I need to make a Fancy Nancy dress. The doll we got her is wearing this outfit:
0060542136.jpg

So I'm going to make Ella a matching one! I think she'll be really excited. She can be kind of a fancy nancy sometimes, so I think she'll have fun!
You will have to post pics of the dress and the party.

Snubie - I was going to ask the same thing. Have you talked to the bride?? I would talk to her, maybe it is still ok with her for you to bring you DD?? If not I would tell her flat out - you said (since last year) I could bring her, and I don't have anyone to leave her with that I trust. Sorry.
Yup, already talked to the bride and she just changed her mind when she saw how may kids were going to be there. FYI - the wedding is outside at a family campground type place without the camping. Volleyball, horse shoes, that type of thing.

Hi! What is the Big Give? I made a toddler outfit for a someday grandchild that I'd love to donate. Since there are no grandchildren(or even marriages, lol) on the horizon, if a child can use this Winnie the Pooh outfit. It's been on a hanger,so it isn't ironed. Also, I never inserted the elastic, so it can be adjusted. It's a size 3. This is my first photo share!! Be gentle, lol. Just give me details on where to send it.

this is a DARLING outfit!!!:goodvibes I love the little details!!

it is interesting. I posted on another msg board about my wedding conundrum and I am getting very mixed responses. Some are saying I am absolutely wrong and others are saying I am absolutey right. And these women mostly have kids of varying ages - from a few months to 8 or 9 years old.

It's not as if you are the one pitching a fit b/c you can't bring your daughter to a "no children" wedding. it's about being told one thing, planning on that and then having the plans changed last minute. The bride should be understanding if you can't attend b/c of last minute changes.

weddings are tough. They can cause a lot of family commotion.

just remember that you didn't do anything wrong here. If you can't attend, you can't. It's not your fault and it won't be the end of the world for the bride. You got a her a gift. It's not like you are trying to be ugly or vindictive about it.

:goodvibes

I love everyone's creations! I did get some sewing done...last minute my DD HAD to have shorts to go to a baseball game today. Stange field trip...to a baseball game Anyway, I made her some shorts and will post this afternoon.

Oh and funny story...I made her a pair of shorts Friday to go with an outfit, and bought just enough fabric to make the shorts...however, I used the measurements for my DS6 to cut the fabric and sew!: Too bad he can't wear them...kinda girly! I'm gonna make her a cover for her bag with them anyway...

So that leads me to my great idea...that somebody else may have had...but it popped into my head a few weeks ago. My DD wants to have a bag to carry at WDW but I did not want to have some bag that messed up her outfits Soooo I bought a bag at Wally world and I am going to make covers for it to match her outfits, plus it gives her a strap to put pins! Seemed like a good solution to me!
That's funny about the shorts! Sorry about that!!! All the schools around here have field trips to baseball games this time of year, so that doesn't sound like an odd field trip to me.

That is such a clever idea about the bag! Please post some pictures!

This is that new outfit that I made for Megan. I purchased the fabrics a while ago and she picked them out of my stash and told me what she wanted for an outfit. I'm not sure that I would have chosen these two fabrics together but that's what she wanted. The pants are CarlaC's easy fit pants. For the top I used a dress bodice and then drew out the bottom part. Megan loves it even though she wasn't thrilled to model for me.

megoutfit1-1.jpg

Yes, the pool is not opened yet and very green and the deck is in desperate need of stain. Those are our June projects.
The purse is wonderful! What a nice thing to do!

I love the outfit for Megan, I think she picked some really great fabrics!

And, pool, what pool? I didn't notice anything.....:rolleyes1 ;)

I finished my BIG GIVE OUTFIT!!!!!
Here it is:

th_DSC00474.jpg

As you can see, the applique is not perfect, but hopefully good enough. Tinka Belle is making another set of bows as my bowmaking skills are NOT great!!!

Wowza!!! That is such a cute outfit!!! You used some great fabrics for that!!! You did a fantastic job!

Usually anything with alchol in it helps. At work, we use baby wipes.
I read you reply without reading what you were replying to, and for a minute I was concerned! :lmao:
I have been trying to keep busy lately. I have made Lauren a couple of non-Disney outfits for this summer.

Great job on these outfits!!! Those are so cute!!! I love the halter with the petti! I hope she decides she wants to wear it!
I need you opinion on something that happened this weekend.
Am I wrong? Any thoughts?
Nope, you are not wrong. You were told she would be invited, then they changed their minds, that's not right! I would be peeved too!

When a cousin of ours got married, they put in big black marker at the bottom of another cousin's invitation "NO KIDS" Of course, notes were compared, and ONLY that cousin had the "special note". Yah know, I don't thnk they went to the wedding.....

Big Give Outfit

th_IMG_0416-1.jpg

It's hanging a little askew and it could use a little ironing. I used Carla's Simply Sweet halter dress pattern and easy fit pants. Isabelle said she liked this fabric and it was one I knew I could find. I did the adjustable/buttonhole elastic in the waist again and this time I made a buttonhole for it to stick out of on the inside of the waistband. I'm getting better at that!

princessmom29, I would love to make a bracelet to match your cute outfit. Let me know if you don't have one.

You guys are making me cry with this!!!
b4349e88.gif
I just feel so privelaged to be involved in a group of such wonderful people! :lovestruc

Jeanne, this is so beautiful!! I can not even imagine how thrilled Isabelle will be to get these fantastic outfits!!!

Now, could you slow down a bit, I don't even have a pattern OR fabric bought!!!

I took Lauren for her 3 year portraits last week at Sears. Here is a sample photo, she is wearing the strawberry apron top and matching easy fit pants.
th_s41273ca109379_22.jpg

SERIOUSLY!!!! Who WOULDN'T want that adorable child at their wedding!!???!!???

Big Give people

Your outfits are adorable! How sweet of all of you to participate in this thing. You're all just a bunch of God's angels down here doing His work. Thanks for being such compassionate people. This world needs more people like you in it.
 The Disboutiquers are a pretty special group of people!
Great job! And I was going to say the same thing word for word that Sugarbees said about the strawberry fabric :snooty:

I would not go to the wedding and I would not feel bad about it. A very good friend of mine got married last month and only invited one of my 4 kids so we did not go. We didn't have a babysitter and didn't really want to go without them anyway.
WHAT!? She only invited ONE child?? Sometimes, you have to wonder what people are thinking!

Oh my goodness, that is just so cute!!!!

Ladies,

You are making me look bad! :rotfl2:

I have not even cut the fabric for my Big Give outift :worried: (I do know what I am making though.... I think)
At least you have the fabric!

In my defense though, I have not been well this weekend, or this past week. I keep having horrible dizzy spells, so Brian took the van to work so he wouldn't have to worry about me trying to drive somewhere.
This happens to me every now and again, so hopefully, it will pass soon.

those bows are really easy! they came form free instructions here:

http://bowdesigns.50webs.com/

they are the loopy surround a bow. I really think yours are great! Mabye if you just did red and black so it will go with the minnie dot outfit too?
I have that page bookmarked and i have tried to do those, but they keep coming out funny looking and nothing like the picture. I have been doing some my way. Which is probably a longer way to make a bow, but it does seem to work for me.

I took Lauren for her 3 year portraits last week at Sears. Here is a sample photo, she is wearing the strawberry apron top and matching easy fit pants.
s41273ca109379_22.jpg
AWWW she is so cute in that picture.
Okay, I barely have time to post a good afternoon, sorry I'm late but I do have to pretend to work sometimes so my mom doesn't catch on;)

I have to jet, I am way behind on the posts (like 40 pages) but will try to catch up a little later.

I do want to thank JHAM for setting the BIG GIVE bar so high....JEESH, cut the rest of us some slack will ya??? how am I supposed to compete w/ that. I guess I have to learn how to make BOWS now:rotfl2: and I really need to get crackin' on mine, I have been so caught up in getting T-Beri Togs launched that I haven't had a spare minute. Of course I told DH this weekend that I am NOT going to be putting my clothes on line and he gave me grief, but I am conflicted about it.
Gotta run,
...t.
Tell me about it. I have an idea of what I want to do, but I'm starting to think that it's not good enough.

PLEASE don't think what you are doing is not good enough!!! You are starting to sound like me! I worry that every outfit I make is not good enough and it drives DH crazy. This week was the frist time I got up the nerve to make anything for someone other than my own child. I made her best friend an outfit and did my big give dress. It took me 2 HOURS to make the first bow that I did in this style, and mine don't particularly look like the photos either!

These are great costumes.

Here are our peter pan costumes. I found this nightgown that was a super huge -moo moo style. but the fabric was just right so we transformed it!

Hey T.! I can't get the links to work, and I really want to see your pictures!

Lydia is REALLY excited to see Ella's Fancy Nancy outfit!!! She couldn't believe it when I told her you were going to make one! (and when I told her that you were the one that sent the Marie fabric, she said, "Aww, that was so nice of her! I love Marie."

Mom got another top done this weekend! We are slowly marking items off the list. Here is a tank with Mickey balloons on it:

Yup, already talked to the bride and she just changed her mind when she saw how may kids were going to be there. FYI - the wedding is outside at a family campground type place without the camping. Volleyball, horse shoes, that type of thing.

Wow, that's just rude. Once you invite someone, you don't UNinvite them, just because there are too many! Geesh! I'm sorry you have to deal with this sort of thing! Like you said, it would be different if you knew from the beginning that no kids were invited, but, she just changed her mind AFTER getting the RSVPs back!!!

Feel better soon.

Thank you!
Tell me about it. I have an idea of what I want to do, but I'm starting to think that it's not good enough.

Oh Crystal, Isabelle and Alicia are going to love anything you do!!!

You guys are amazing!

After reading this thread the other day I decided to try and get the tension on my sewing machine fixed. So i took it to a local sewing shop and they wanted $80 to clean it and then if the problem wasn't fixed they would tell me the cost from there. UGH the machine was probably only about $150 to begin with and I don't think it is worth spending $80 for a maybe it will be fixed. What do you guys think?

So in the mean time I have been itching to sew something. Figures I don't have a machine and now all I want to do is sew something!

Any way i have been looking around at a new machine and of course I fell in love with the new Singer Curvy but it is $$ and I am such a basic sewer and I really don't need all of that fancy stuff at least not yet.

Do you guys have any suggestions on a good inexpensive basic machine?

My mom has one she bought a few yrs ago and hasn't even opened the box and if I still lived in GA I told her I would be taking possession of it but since I live in IL now I bet the shipping would be $$. She told me to move back and it is mine . Easier said then done:idea:

You sound like me too! I've only ever made one outfit for someone I wasn't related to! (the Giselle top)I was so scared I would mess it up, I kept putting it off and putting it off! To me, it's so scary making things for other people. I have very little confidence in my sewing abilities!

Your outfit is GREAT!!!!! Love the applique!

I would LOVE for you to make a bracelet!!!!!!! I don't do jewelry......yet!:)

Will do! :thumbsup2

I LOVE this! Gorgeous! Would you mind sharing how you did the buttons on the bows? I recognize the crown design (cricut, right?) How did you get it on the button? Is it fabric?

Okay, here is how I did it. I went to the craft store to see if they had any blank bottle caps and they did not, but in the scrapbooking section they had these Bazzil chipboard discs so I bought them. I'm sure a large button would work too. Then I painted it, then used a glossy mod podge (or whatever it's called) to mod podge the little cricut crowns on. I will have to warn Alicia, they will probably hold up in a drizzle, but a torrential downpour, not so much :o :lmao:

THAT'S MY BEST FRIEND!!! I'm so proud! Just adorable! And since I've seen almost all of Jeanne's creations in person, I'm telling all of you it is the most WELL MADE and ADORABLE outfit/bows/bracelet! Gymboree's got nothing on you, girl! GOOD JOB!!!! You really are my hero! :cool1:

So cute! Hmmm, I'd better start planning a 3-year portrait outfit for Lily! I only have until August! I wonder how long it will take those pettis to get here...

Ladies,
To Oscar's Mommy (sorry I have not mastered the multi quote), I think you should buy Oscar a plane ticket and he can stay with me in Orlando :thumbsup2 (Morgan said she wanted a dog LOL)

You'd better watch out Cindee! You may find yourself running Morgan's Disboutiquers Disneyworld Dogsitting service! It might be a good way to "have a dog" though!:lmao:

I can't believe I never heard of Fancy Nancy until I saw lil ragamuffins outfit! I need to stop DISing and run over to Amazon. I think Lily needs her some Fancy Nancy! And I can't wait to see the outfit! Does she get the green pom pom shoes too? I love it!

Love it! I'm hoping it gets warm enough around here to break out the summer outfits again. We've had lots of rain lately.

In my defense though, I have not been well this weekend, or this past week. I keep having horrible dizzy spells, so Brian took the van to work so he wouldn't have to worry about me trying to drive somewhere.
This happens to me every now and again, so hopefully, it will pass soon.

Sorry about the dizzy spells! My dad had that for a while. It was some weird inner-ear thing that eventually went away.

There is a rather inexpensive Brother that most people like. The model number is not coming to me right now (CS6000?). My sister, Heather has one, and she really likes it. I think Walmart had it on clearance a month or so ago for around $90.

Well - they are not "outfits" but here is a pic of some pajamas I made for DS this weekend. I have one more pair to go.
I got a BUNCH of plain T's at JoAnn for $2 each!!!

Those are great!

We had a great time! Here is Megan at princess lunch (it was raining, so we were a little droopy, she looked much cuter before the rain, I promise!):

IMG_0530.jpg

Showing Cinderella her book. She was impressed that "her castle" was on the cover. Poor Megan, her hair was in a cute bun before we got caught in the rain. She had a tiara too but said it was "too itchy."

For Arminda:

IMG_0538.jpg

Then my camera battery died (doh!). We have other pictures but they are on Megan's camera, which I haven't figured out how to work yet.

The tea party was fun, pretty much only cast members commented on her dress, but a couple of moms asked where I got the fabric from.

We left Scrappy in the care of the neighbor girls who babysit and I don't think they checked on him enough. I found three accidents and the house still does not smell so good. I am sure Miss Cammie will find a way to absolve Scrappy from this though.

Missed you guys!
Looks like Megan had a great birthday!!! Love her top!

How can you guys be done already? I haven't even started and I have one thing on my list to do before I can. Everyone is going to make me look bad!
I won't make you look bad.;) ....and not even making an outfit...just something really simple....

BIG GIVERS!!!!

Is anyone making a Mickey Mouse outfit?? I have some bows that I made that I thought would be cute to go with a Mickey Mouse outfit. I just need to know what colors the outfit is if there is one being made.

These are the bows. Jenna got alot of compliments on these and a Diser that we ran into wants to buy a set of them.

Please PM if you are doing a Mickey outfit for the BIG GIVE.
Those are SO cute!!!!

Here is a better view of Pan and Hook, though I wish the lighting in the hotel was better. Notice, I made DH cork his hook since we were going to be in WDW and I didn't want anyone to conceive it as a weapon :rotfl2: I took a generic pirates hook and painted it up a bit cause DH likes "authentic" (rolling eyes here!)
OplCommandServlet

and here is Tink though you really can't see her outfit very well and she had the most adorable wings my mom made for her. Notice the pom poms on her booties :cutie: You can't tell, but this outfit looked JUST like Tinks and her wings were sheer blue w/ rinestones around the edges.

OplCommandServlet

But she spent most of MNSSHP like this

OplCommandServlet

You can kinda see her wings in that picture.

And I would like to point out that I think there are walmart bags in my sleeves and to puff up the bow in the back of my dress:rotfl2:

I can't see the pictures! :( And per your descriptions, I'd really like to!

I need opinions about a pattern:

Do you think I could modify this to make a sailor top/dress but sleeveless?

It looks like the sailor part is just an option for the other tops, so I bet it has instructions to add it to the sleeveless option (if not, you can just use the sleeveless instructions for how to do the armholes).

As for the wedding, I am appalled that she would change her mind after seeing how many kids would be there!?! I thought it was rude when it was just your family she was doing this to, but clearly she has just put plenty of people in this situation. RUDE! (and yes, I thought it was rude when it was just you too... you are totally justified in being upset and I don't think I would be attending if I lived 2 hours away). I'm sorry you are in this position...

I will figure out the pic links, I don't know what happened Kodak gallery is funny sometimes, but I have a trick or 2. Gimme a few minutes.

I have the singer simple from walmart it was right at $100 and It does all the basic stuff and is super easy to learn. It also has a one step buttonholer which I love!! It is the only one at thet price I have seen with a one step buttonholer. It is not digital, but it has like 20 stitch options. I loved it so much I just bought a singer serger.

Singer has a really basic one at my Wal-Mart that is only $60-$70 and they have one a little more advanced for $100. I have used the $100 one and it was good. It lasted until I started doing some major sewing, but for light sewing it did great. I would actually still be using it if the stitch selector dial hadn't broken.

Do you think I could modify this to make a sailor top/dress but sleeveless?
I think if could definitely be done and I think it would be cute too.

That happened to my old machine. I did buy a new one. I got the Brother from Costco and have been pretty happy with it. Walmart has a similar version. If you buy a new one, just get it somewhere with a good return policy. I got mine in December and the timing went out in late Jan/early Feb and they took it back. I had to order another one from their website though because it was a Christmas/seasonal item.

I need opinions about a pattern:

That shouldn't be too hard at all and now you have me wanting that pattern! That would make a darling Donald Duck outfit!

I'm way, way behind here, but when I logged on yesterday to catch up I decided to just bow out. Hopefully I may have a chance to go back and see what others have created over the weekend. I did take the time this weekend to get a couple of pictures of the new outfit I made for Megan and get those off of my camera, so I can share.

First is the YCMT Knot purse without the knot. I made this for Megan's teacher for appreciation week (and just finally downloaded the pictures). I left off the knot because I thought it would be more to her taste that way. I really like how it turned out.

Yes, the pool is not opened yet and very green and the deck is in desperate need of stain. Those are our June projects. :)
Love the purse without the knot! And I love that outfit too!!!

I finished my BIG GIVE OUTFIT!!!!!

As you can see, the applique is not perfect, but hopefully good enough. Tinka Belle is making another set of bows as my bowmaking skills are NOT great!!!
WOW!!!:worship: AWESOME!!!!

I have been trying to keep busy lately. I have made Lauren a couple of non-Disney outfits for this summer.
For the fourth of July: YCMT Criss Cross top/dress

It's hanging a little askew and it could use a little ironing. I used Carla's Simply Sweet halter dress pattern and easy fit pants. Isabelle said she liked this fabric and it was one I knew I could find. I did the adjustable/buttonhole elastic in the waist again and this time I made a buttonhole for it to stick out of on the inside of the waistband. I'm getting better at that!

princessmom29, I would love to make a bracelet to match your cute outfit. Let me know if you don't have one.
WOW!:worship: Wonderful!

I took Lauren for her 3 year portraits last week at Sears. Here is a sample photo, she is wearing the strawberry apron top and matching easy fit pants.

SOOOOOO adorable!!!!

So I'm going to make Ella a matching one! I think she'll be really excited. She can be kind of a fancy nancy sometimes, so I think she'll have fun!
That will be so cute!!!!!

Mom got another top done this weekend! We are slowly marking items off the list. Here is a tank with Mickey balloons on it:
